See behind the curtain....
Review of Acacia Hotel, London by martinkk

Advantages: Location
Disadvantages: Tidiness

I'm really sorry for that bad review, but it is 100% the truth. I stayed there from Oct 26th until Oct 28th. From the outside, the hotel looks quite good. The location is perfect and the price is cheap. But.... When we (my girlfriend and I) entered the room, it had a very bad smell. Later we found out that it was the smell of bedbugs http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bedbug my girlfriend had about 200 bedbug-bites after 3 nights....yeah! I contracted ... Read review

London's first and best boutique hotel
Review of Blakes Hotel, London by matthewsteeples

Advantages: Style, service, attention to detail, discretion
Disadvantages: Some rooms are small

Blakes Hotel is a perfect London base for those seeking style and substance. Some of the rooms might be small, but the unique and amazing taste of perfectionist Anouska Hempel has created a boutique hotel that just cannot be beaten. For those on an extravagant budget, the well run restaurant serves an excellent evening meal that is perfect for those seeking to impress. With a pan-Asian menu that changes daily, be sure to try the lamb or curry if ...
...Chinese Room are the perfect places to entertain over drinks and having held a party there, I cannot fault the impeccable service from George and Octavio. If looking for a hotel in West London and especially if you seek discretion and style, Blakes should be your number one choice. ... Read review

A bargin at The Chesterfield
Review of Chesterfield Mayfair, London by moorep3

Advantages: High quality and excellent location
Disadvantages: Rooms on the small side

...of january 2007 at the Chesterfield Mayfair with my wife and another couple. I booked us this trip through expedia.co.uk as I have found them very good before, particulary their bargin hotel prices, and did again this time. I found expedia especially good on this occasion because apart from the trip being everything that we were promised our trip was to take place over a period of proposed strike action by BA staff (the airline we had chosen to use). ...
...to the hotel............ The Chesterfield Mayfair is advertised as a top class hotel and we checked this out on tripadvisor.com where they rated it very highly (top twenty hotels in London). It really was very nice indeed. LOCATION- is excellent, right in the heart of the really residentail part of Mayfair (Close to the Ritz, Berkly Square, Sunseeker yacht showroom, Porche dealership etc) it was only a 5 minute walk from Green Park tube station ... Hilton Metropole, London
Review of Hilton London Metropole, London by BigHairyKev

Advantages: Great place to stay.
Disadvantages: Slightly pricey, but still worth it.

I've stayed here a few times now, mainly to attend conventions the hotel has acted as host for. I found the rooms to be very comfortable whic afforded me the luxury of a good nights rest. Clean, tidy and roomy enough even for a large built guy like myself. The self serve breakfast was a little limited for choice, but very nicely cooked. What impressed me most of all was the constant flow of fresh orange juice and coffee which was brought to the ...
...we each had a large coffee pot, which was replaced with a fresh one when it got low. It was also one of the best coffees I'd ever had, and I'm very particular about my morning coffee. The price wasn't too bad, even though I usually stay in places like the Premier Inn and Travel Lodge. It was worth the extra. The staff were friendly and helpful. They seemed to be mostly made up of Australians, which I assumed were students earning their way. Well ... Read review
