Malmaison - faboulous hotel chain.
Review of Malmaison, London by gene2006

Advantages: modern ,excellent service and food.
Disadvantages: more business orientated than other malmaison hotels.

I stayed in Malmaison London a few months ago for a work conference. I had experience with other Malmaison branches across the country so was really looking forward to my stay. The hotel is based in Charterhouse Square next to Smithfields market and has a great location safely tucked away from the main street. It's a nice little part of London (Smiths of Smithfield, Fabric just down the road) with easy access to the centre of town or Islington by ...
...if you don't want to deal with hustle and bustle of Picadilly or the West End but still need a central location. When I arrived as usual the staff were helpful and friendly - you get the impression they genuinely enjoy their jobs and want to provide a great service. I had a room on the second floor which was spotless and well presented. There was a CD playing when I arrived which was a nice touch. All the mod cons were there, TV,CD , DSL, Tea and ... Bedford Hotel,Southhampton Row,London
Review of Bedford Hotel, London by ashley111

Advantages: cheap and in the centre(ish)of london
Disadvantages: very shabby decor

Well! Stayed here in July/August Breakfast was fab, cooked or continental, basically a yum fry every morning! You have to pay extra for that though, but only about 6 pounds a room for one night is about £100 In pictures i saw before i went,it looked very nice, but the hotel is right on the road and its very noisy at night,i always thought i had left open the window or something though on the outside it looks very nice In the room itself, there ...
...tables,a hairdryer,a desk with 3 drawers, the tv side ontop of a chest of drawers with 3 drawers, two bathrooms,on with a shower and sink and one with a toilet and a bidet. When you leave your room you are given a piece of paper and you have to hand you key in so obviously you dont run away with it or anything. And upon arrival back at the hotel you produce the card and they return your key There are two lifts in the building,so this would be good ... Read review

£150? What a disappointment!
Review of Thistle Piccadilly, London by moo-cow

Advantages: Close proximity to Leicester Square, plenty of places to eat nearby, friendly staff
Disadvantages: Too expensive, horrid bathroom, dodgy TV, nobody with English as a first language

...boards with leaflets advertising other Thistle hotels. Fortunately I guessed the right way (left) and, after pushing my way through an equally heavy door, I passed down a narrow corridor and found my room on the right. The key card was a bit fiddly, but it worked. First impressions count for a lot and my first thoughts were that the room was big, but old-fashioned. I was underwhelmed. I felt it was old-fashioned in a lazy, rip-off way: the old mahogany ...
...and yet more leaflets advertising Thistle hotels. An extra chair. The bathroom... God, the bathroom was vile. Old-fashioned is good when there's an element of class and sophistication involved, but the bathroom was anything but stylish. It was awful. If the hotel claims to be following a Victorian theme, then the bathroom most certainly did not fit in. It had horrid pink and white tiles on the floor and walls, shocking grouting, a lime scale-covered ... Read review

Weekend break at the Hampshire
Review of Radisson Edwardian Hampshire Hotel, London by IanJ99

Advantages: Complete luxury in the most central London location
Disadvantages: £600+ final bill

I recently stayed at the Hampshire for 2 nights during a theatre trip with my partner. As a treat I booked a junior suite (through radissonedwardian.com). At a nightly rate of £261 (ex. VAT) it was not cheap, but we were rewarded with a wonderful room right at the heart of Leicester Square with a very comfy king size bed, leather sofa, mini bar, marble bathroom with seperate toilet cubicle, shower, bath, and double wash basins. It was spacious, spotless, ...
...4th floor). Hotel staff were friendly and courteous, and service prompt, professional, unfussy, and discreet. Our bags were carried to the room without hesitation. We took breakfast in the room and even though we were told to allow a half hour 'window', it still arrived exactly at the stated time. There was far to much food though. I tipped for all services I used, but this was optional and my own choice. Be aware that in the restaurant/bar the tip ... Read review

Holiday Inn Near Oxford Steet London
Review of Holiday Inn Garden Court London - Oxford Circus, London by sarahj0801

Advantages: Close to Oxford Street for all your shopping needs!
Disadvantages: Expensive, really small reception and bar area

I have stayed in many Holiday Inns around the UK, and this has to be one of the smallest. However, what it lacked in grandeur it gained in location. Situated in Marylebone just 5 minutes walk away from Oxford Street for all your shopping needs!. Also just 5 minutes walk from the nearest underground being Bond Street, Oxford Circus station is a 10 minute walk, this is obviously handy as there is no parking at the hotel. My main reason and attraction ...
...a scheme offerered by the Holiday Inn Group which allows you to gain points for staying at Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Crowne Plaza and Intercontinental Hotel Group. Not just in the Uk either but around the world. Once you have accumulated enough points you can swap them for free nights accomodation. I am honest enough to say that I still haven't reached that point, but luckily the points just carry on accumulating and do not recommence for ... Read review
