London's first and best boutique hotel
Review of Blakes Hotel, London by matthewsteeples

Advantages: Style, service, attention to detail, discretion
Disadvantages: Some rooms are small

Blakes Hotel is a perfect London base for those seeking style and substance. Some of the rooms might be small, but the unique and amazing taste of perfectionist Anouska Hempel has created a boutique hotel that just cannot be beaten. For those on an extravagant budget, the well run restaurant serves an excellent evening meal that is perfect for those seeking to impress. With a pan-Asian menu that changes daily, be sure to try the lamb or curry if ...
...Chinese Room are the perfect places to entertain over drinks and having held a party there, I cannot fault the impeccable service from George and Octavio. If looking for a hotel in West London and especially if you seek discretion and style, Blakes should be your number one choice. ... Read review

Tea and cakes for 12 please
Review of Claridge's, London by Amazingwoo

Advantages: Attentive service, delicious food.
Disadvantages: A little pricey, the temptation to just keep on eating.....

It was my Aunts 60th birthday and as a treat for her and her close female friends and family, we were all invited to Afternoon Tea at Claridges. Afternoon Tea is held daily from 3pm until 5:30pm and this is something you have to book in advance, either over the phone or using the online booking form. As I didn't do this I can't comment on how easy or difficult it was. We totaled 12 and were sat on a long narrow table in a spacious area of the room. ...
...I didn't pay too much attention - sorry! - but it was very ornate, high ceilings, a bit art deco and surprisingly not as 'posh' as I thought it would be. There was lots of space between the tables of which there were many and above the buzz of conversation you could hear someone playing the piano. ~ Tea, Sandwiches and Cakes ~ There were a few menus dotted on the table, of course I can't list every single tea (there were about 4 sides of A5 paper ... Five star experience
Review of Hyatt Regency London - The Churchill, London by mileslondoner

Advantages: Cental location, excellent serivce, wifi internet, tennis court
Disadvantages: Five star prices

...Churchill now managed by the Hyatt is one of the best London hotels. Hotel facilities: famous Cigar bar, recently opened (2005) Montagu Restaurant, one of the best italian restaurants in the city Locanda Locatelli, wi-fi internet, health club, hairdresser, tennis court on Portman Square, attentive security and so on. Rooms are big, clean and really 5 star standard. For a small supplement you can enjoy club lounge facilities with unlimited soft and ...
...this place is well organized. The best option if money is not an issue it to go for a Portman Square view room, on the 8 floor. The best rate you can get is to be found on the hyatt's website. (it depends of the time of the year but all in all it is gonna be above 120 pounds) ... Read review

The London Hilton on Park Lane - It's the Daddy!
Review of London Hilton on Park Lane, London by andymcf

Advantages: True five-star oasis of calm and comfort with a few tricks up its sleeve.
Disadvantages: It would be somewhat churlish to nit-pick. Read the review!

...be - THE Hilton. The London Hilton on Park Lane has, always been "The Hilton" and this 28-storey icon is a London landmark that I have wanted to stay in for nigh on 30 years. This weekend, the dream came true. Nor was the bubble burst. Booking I booked on-line through the Hilton website and was offered a rate of just under UKP 128, plus taxes. The room-only room rate of UKP 150 (about $300) was something of a snip and it would have been rude not ...
...The room London hotels are noted, probably, for two things; high prices and small rooms. Here, I thought that the price was good for what we got. The room, also, was by no means cramped. In fact, at 22 square metres, it was actually quite spacious. the King-sized bed was huge and proved to be extraordinarily comfortable. The comfy chair was very comfortable. The television was large and had a good selection of channels. There was a personalised welcome ... Read review

Marriott Grosvenor House
Review of Marriott Grosvenor House, London by newty1977

Advantages: Location
Disadvantages: Cost

Currently under-going extensive refurbishment, as the hotel rebrands to a JW Marriott. I have not stayed at the hotel for over 2 years, but the one thing the Grosvenor House has always prided itself on is an extremely high standard of service and a very high attention to detail, which I have found has been extended to me on numerous occasions. Afternoon tea in the Palm Court whilst the resident harpist serenades the audience is one of the most ...
...the Ritz hotel, located around the corner on London's Piccadilly. Cuban cigars and Scottish whisky are certainly the order of the evening in the relaxation and ambient warmth of the Red bar, a typically small and homely cigar and whisky bar, located off the Palm Court bordering Park Lane. ...
