Swapping Liverpool for Liverpool Street
Review of Travelodge London City, London by Julieshobs

Advantages: Cheap and cheerrful
Disadvantages: non really

...well there is a big Travelodge sign on the back in plain view. Walking around to the front entrance of the hotel I notice that there is a Post Office running nearly the whole length of the ground floor and find the main entrance to the hotel at the opposite end of the building that I arrived. Now this is not the most attractive looking hotel I have ever stayed at and it kind of looks a bit out of place as if it has been sandwiched in between all ...
...the picture displayed on the Travelodge web site. At the end of the day its not what the building looks like on the outside but the quality of the rooms etc that’s the most important as you see a lot more of the inside than the outside. Entering the hotel I note that the main reception area is small but immaculately clean, the reception desk reminds me of a check in desk at the airport but bigger as there is nothing on display at all here, not even ... A mixed bag - I wouldn't stay again.
Review of Millennium Bailey's Hotel, London by claire.wizzbiz

Advantages: restaurant, friendly staff, close to tube
Disadvantages: noisy, mouse in room, unclear invoices

This hotel was a mixed bag. I stayed with a colleague for business purposes. We stayed for one night, mid-week on April 7th 2008. I stayed in a room on the second floor and my colleague was on the first floor. On the plus side - If you want a hotel close to a tube station, this is perfect. Gloucester Rd was right opposite, 100yds. It was also close to South Kensington which was one stop away on the tube and very nice for shopping. The double glazing ...
...from the street. Unfortunately my window wouldn't open, it was broken. I didn't report this so just had to live with it. I booked two single rooms for myself and a colleague, we both got double rooms, which were spacious. The bed was comfortable, linen clean, water hot and the bathroom was clean. The television in the room was very good, lots of channels, new and in working order. I got an extremely reasonable tariff, £107 for Dinner, bed and breakfast ... Read review

I'VE FOUND WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR
Review of Travelodge London Kings Cross, London by nathaninnit

Advantages: Checkin was needlessly annoying
Disadvantages: Apparently doest bookout, as just experienced with a test booking

...Surprisingly the actual Kings Cross Travelodge didn't look as dated on the outside as I thought the picture on the site made it out to be, in fact it looked dated in a modern way.. if that makes sense. And you know how us youth like the modern. Finding it was a lot more difficult than I expected though, in fact I was hoping to just step off the train and see it from the platform. Well, maybe I wasn't expecting to be that lucky. Asking for directions ...
...had my stint working on Travelodge reception a couple of years back). Infact, part of me wanted to question where the smile was, but I do not feel it was treatment just happening to me as I noticed the happy conversation wasn't exactly flowing during the check-in infront of me. I guess some people might not like having a dragged out check-in, but I think it's more polite than anything to not look so stern. When I used to work for Travelodge card ... Read review

OK, but be prepared to pay up front.
Review of Novotel London Greenwich, London by crware

Advantages: Modern, clean, quiet - good location.
Disadvantages: Car parking not free, pay up front.

This is a new hotel, pleasantly decorated in a modern style, situated adjacent to Greenwich main line station and Docklands Light Railway station. It is within a few minutes walk from Greenwich centre with easy access to shops and restaurants. It has its own underground car park. The rooms are clean and surprisingly quiet - I was not aware of the trains running by and was able to sleep undisturbed. Breakfast is of the help-yourself kind so you ...
...day under way. There is also plenty of choice including many healthy options as well as the tradition fried breakfast. The staff are keen and helpful, but occasionally a little over-zealous in their pursuit of formality. Things to be aware of: most London hotels charge residents for parking and this hotel is no exception, charging £10 per night (which is cheaper than some of the other London Novotels). Also, be prepared to pay up front if you want ... Read review

No holiday for me at Holiday Inn
Review of Express By Holiday Inn Wandsworth - Battersea, London by trevorbrock

Advantages: Conveniently located, well priced, spotless and comfortable
Disadvantages: No proper restaurant

Holiday Inn - Wandsworth. 1 Trevor has upgraded. Those who know the scrimping and penny-watching that has been part of my character from Scottish schooldays, will know that my regular trips to London all target the cheapest accomodation available. Well, not quite the cheapest - I try to ensure they are flealess, clean and with a bed that accomodates my full frame. Usually Travelodge gets the vote, and I have ladled the praise to them in the past ...
...beat the local Travelodge on price, believe it or not. Well, it was a bit more complicated than that. Members of David Lloyd leisure clubs have (or had until the buy-out) access to members' benefits with other organisations. I don't usually pursue these as you are offered 10% discount, say, off of a full price - which is discounted by 20% everywhere else.! However, this time I discovered that the price offered for the Wandsworth Holiday Inn was ... Read review
