Review of Club Quarters Gracechurch, London by
voyce100
Advantages: Clean, comfortable, accessible and close promimity to sights and transport network.
Disadvantages: All shops, bars and eateries are closed at weekends in the business district .
Club Quarters Gracechurch is a former Edwardian bank in the heart of the business centre of London. It is a very clean and comfortable place to rest your weary bones after a day of sightseeing. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. Our bathroom was a little on the small side. The hotel is within easy walking distance of Tower of London, St Paul's, The Monument and Underground stations to connect you to the rest London has to offer. The ... ...food and drink. Club Quarters is a haven for business travelers during the week and all the facilities for such clients are well met. At weekends the hotel is open to the public.
Our room was cosy but the bathroom a tad small. Nevertheless, the accommodation suited our needs. The room had the usual tea and coffee facilities, a TV, internet access and a small collection of books.
The lobby was clean and the lounge comfortable with large sofas and ...

Review of Club Quarters St. Paul's, London by
JoePoirot
Advantages: Clean, comfortable, well-located. Can be very good value for money.
Disadvantages: Can be very expensive on weekdays
Club Quarters began as a members-only hotel in Boston, and has now grown to include twelve hotels in the US and UK - a thirteenth is opening shortly at the old Ministry of Defence headquarters site in Northumberland Avenue. The ethos of Club Quarters is to provide a comfortable and competitively-priced in a club-like atmosphere. However for the average traveller in London the secret of staying at Club Quarters for a good price (whether the St. Paul's ... ...tried this service.
The club room has free internet access (three computers at the time of writing) a large screen television, comfortable armchairs, connection points for internet, newspapers, magazines and tea and coffee making facilities.
Many, or most, rooms are disabled-friendly since the bathrooms have walk-in showers rather than baths and there are very few steps to negotiate throughout the hotel.
There are points throughout the hotel where ...

Copthorne Tara - The Customer
Review of Copthorne Tara Hotel, London by
sianciao
Advantages: Good location, access to tube station, nice/well looked after hotel
Disadvantages: Some of the staff/service is not up to scratch
Getting There:
--------------------
The Copthorne Tara Hotel is conveniently situated a short walk (about 5 minutes) from the Kensington High Street Tube station. This means that getting to and from the hotel is quick and convenient. The Kensington High Street Tube Station is part of both the District and Circle Lines, meaning that you can get to many major and convenient locations by jumping on the tube there (including Kings Cross and Victoria ... ...that while staying at the Copthorne Tara, the district and circle lines are running as unfortunately during my stay they were under maintenance for 2 of the days. In this case the nearest station was Notting Hill, which was around a 30 minute walk away (not good when wearing high heals to go to the theatre). In terms of proximity to the west end theatres, the Copthorne Tara is about a 30 minute (around £15) taxi drive. When getting the tube it took ...

Crowne Plaza - I Must Go Back!!!
Review of Crowne Plaza Hotel, London by
cooldude28
Advantages: Resturant, Food, Staff, Service, Room, Standards, Clean + More
Disadvantages: None
...journey to Theatre Land from Crowne Plaza. Booking was easy, we did it all over the phone, and it was a package eal. We had not been to the hotel before, and we found it a suprise as to what to expect. We did not have any problems with the booking. We did want to know after our booking how how far the hotel was to Theatre Land, as we did not have our own car with us, and we would rely on taxi's and public transport. Getting to the hotel was easy. ... ...From the entrance of the Crowne Plaza hotel, you can see the London Eye, one of London's famous landmarks, if you know how to get to the London Eye, then you woul know how to get to the hotel in New Bridge Street, even if you do not have navigational help. It is literally, down the road. In the street are some coffee shops such as Starbucks, and Cafe Nero. There are also a few banks in the street, with cash machines and ATMs. There were some pubs ...

PERFECT SETTING FOR THE COLNEY FOX
Review of Innkeeper's Lodge, St Albans by
RICHADA
Advantages: Location. Pub Ambiance. Parking. Breakfast.
Disadvantages: Dirty En-Suite. Old Bed. Tatty Room.
WHY DID WE BOOK THE INNKEEPER'S LODGE St ALBANS? A.K.A THE COLNEY FOX VINTAGE INN
A slightly complicated set of factors this time - indeed this is the first hotel in which we have stayed south of Watford Gap in very many years. Living in Brighton and attending the Company Car in Action event at Millbrook, just south of Bedford, we usually set out from home at 5.30am in order to be there for gates open at 9.00am.
I owed myself a couple of days off ... ...envelope, following our last, disastrous, Innkeeper's Lodge experience in Litchfield before Christmas, we had a complimentary "stay one night free" voucher.
Looking at the list of available Inkeeper's Lodges in the area, the choice was not a difficult one, a Toby Inn at Bedford, or the much more historic and attractive looking Vintage Inn at London Colney, just to the south of St Abans.
'Oh dear' I hear you cry; 'wasn't that Lodge at Lichfield ...
