You Can't Polish A Turd.
Review of St. Giles Hotel,, London by TheWizardsSleeve

Advantages: location
Disadvantages: jaded, numbers of guests

***Why The St Giles?*** Back in September 2007 my wife and I had decided we would like to go to London for the weekend and at the same time take in a show. After further investigation, we also realised that The Terracotta Army was on show at The British Museum and a Tutankhamun exhibition at the 02 Arena so we wanted a hotel that was adjacent to most things on our to do list, close access to Euston as well as having easy access to the tube. We chose ...
...google search we did, had some decent reviews, offered an all in one price for the hotel and a show and was in a fabulous location. ***Location*** They say the three most important things for a hotel is location, location, location but I feel that location is relative. After all, an establishment cannot be located everywhere but the St Giles succeeds in being as good a location for a hotel as any I have ever been to. The location is without a doubt ... Read review

Holiday Inn Near Oxford Steet London
Review of Holiday Inn Garden Court London - Oxford Circus, London by sarahj0801

Advantages: Close to Oxford Street for all your shopping needs!
Disadvantages: Expensive, really small reception and bar area

I have stayed in many Holiday Inns around the UK, and this has to be one of the smallest. However, what it lacked in grandeur it gained in location. Situated in Marylebone just 5 minutes walk away from Oxford Street for all your shopping needs!. Also just 5 minutes walk from the nearest underground being Bond Street, Oxford Circus station is a 10 minute walk, this is obviously handy as there is no parking at the hotel. My main reason and attraction ...
...a scheme offerered by the Holiday Inn Group which allows you to gain points for staying at Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Crowne Plaza and Intercontinental Hotel Group. Not just in the Uk either but around the world. Once you have accumulated enough points you can swap them for free nights accomodation. I am honest enough to say that I still haven't reached that point, but luckily the points just carry on accumulating and do not recommence for ... Read review

Jury's Inn - Guilty as Charged
Review of Jurys Inn Croydon, London by EmmaLOU_lloyd

Advantages: Lovely Reception and Friendly Barstaff
Disadvantages: Small rooms, Hards Beds, too many to count.

not sure about this place, looks quite impresseive walking in, but the rooms are small, i had a sofa in mine which pretty much took all the walking space from that side of the bed. tiny TV, with a few free channels. Bed was very hard and the aircon was quite brutal. the bathroom was nice, white and clean but the bath is very small and the shower kicks out red hot water if your not careful. bar is a little expensive but make yummy sandwiches roughly ...
...the bar are charming but the ones on reception need to learn a lesson or two in customer service. i had my card slammed back in my hand once i had paid the bill. there are much nicer hotels for about the same price but to honest i would rather pay the extra twenty quid for one more star. ... Weekend break at the Hampshire
Review of Radisson Edwardian Hampshire Hotel, London by IanJ99

Advantages: Complete luxury in the most central London location
Disadvantages: £600+ final bill

I recently stayed at the Hampshire for 2 nights during a theatre trip with my partner. As a treat I booked a junior suite (through radissonedwardian.com). At a nightly rate of £261 (ex. VAT) it was not cheap, but we were rewarded with a wonderful room right at the heart of Leicester Square with a very comfy king size bed, leather sofa, mini bar, marble bathroom with seperate toilet cubicle, shower, bath, and double wash basins. It was spacious, spotless, ...
...4th floor). Hotel staff were friendly and courteous, and service prompt, professional, unfussy, and discreet. Our bags were carried to the room without hesitation. We took breakfast in the room and even though we were told to allow a half hour 'window', it still arrived exactly at the stated time. There was far to much food though. I tipped for all services I used, but this was optional and my own choice. Be aware that in the restaurant/bar the tip ... Read review

Excellent Curry - in a Pub
Review of The Tiffin Room at the India Arms, Southsea, Hampshire by denella

Advantages: Excellent food
Disadvantages: Erratic service

...back to Southsea in 1999, the India Arms was about two minutes' walk from where I lived but I never visited it because my sons went there and it definitely had a reputation as a student pub. On moving back to Southsea again in 2007, I was surprised to learn that the largest room in the pub had been converted into an Indian restaurant called the Tiffin Room which was fast earning a reputation for serving the best Indian cuisine in either Portsmouth ...
...share them amongst yourselves. By the time of my first visit in late summer, however, all this had changed and the menu was organised in the traditional format of starter, main course and dessert. I remember choosing Old Madras lamb chops, unusual for me as I am not a great fan of red meat, but they were absolutely delicious. My second visit to the Tiffin Room came eight months later, at 7.30 one Saturday evening. My son and his partner had been ... Read review
