Manchester Airport Marriott Hotel
Review of Airport Marriott Hotel, Manchester by
matt_fantastic
Advantages: Just of the M56 - convenient
Disadvantages: Just of the M56 - noisy
...a complimentary shuttle to Manchester Airport and they also offer "Park & Fly" packages (around £8 per day, I think) so you can leave your car there while you jet off... For food & dring, there's firstly the "Lobby Bar" that's open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and you can pick up a fresh Costa Coffee or sandwiches throughout the day (I had a nice three cheese panini). Also, "Mendelssohns Restaurant " is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast ... ...from the nearby motorway and airport was a bit disturbing. Nevermind.
The staff were all very helpful, from the fellow on reception when I checked in, the telephone operator lady who helped me connect to their wifi network, the fellow who delivered my Marriott Burger (yum yum), to the maitre d' and waitresses at breakfast. A1's all round. Rates and availability vary, and Marriott do lots of special offers, so check out Expedia or your favourite ...

Bewleys
Review of Bewley's Hotel Manchester Airport, Manchester by
jad1965
Advantages: close to airport, resaonably price, excellent staff
Disadvantages: bar pricey
We have stayed in this hotel overnight twice, when we have had an early flight, for our annual holiday. We found the hotel very comfortable and good value for money. The staff were exceptionally friendly and very helpful. The room was nicely decorated and very clean and airy, with all amenities. Reception is vast and very inviting. We had a meal in the bar area which was a little pricey, but worth it. There were plenty of minivans to take you to ... ...also arranged to leave our car there whilst on holiday, as we don't like using the terminal car parks, they take the keys off you and give you a receipt, upon return the car had never moved, so we didn't have to trek aroung the back for it. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. ...

Manchester Britannia Airport Hotel
Review of Britannia Airport Hotel, Manchester by
Lurdle
Advantages: free parking
Disadvantages: see review
I would like to take this opportunity in sharing my experience in the Manchester Airport Hotel. My friend and I had booked a room (no. 321) for one night in the Manchester Airport Hotel for 11th August 2007 at the cost of 49 British pounds. Upon unpacking I noticed that of the two towels provided in the bathroom, the smaller one, showed a large very yellow stain running down the middle of it, the larger one was acceptably clean. One additional large ... ...and requested further towels from the young lady answering the phone. Within 2 minutes the night Manager rang back and suggested that I "look in the wardrobe". Having stated that I had indeed already done this, the "manager" started a debate with me. Here I quote from the hotel services hotel information brochure "An additional set of towels may be found the wardrobe" A sign in the room also states "If you need additional towels, please call the ...

Noisy, Smelly, Tatty Hotel Stuck In The 1970's
Review of Britannia Country House Hotel, Manchester by
johnny040676
Advantages: Close To Manchester Airport
Disadvantages: Too Many To List, Needs A refurb, Needs A Good Clean, Noisy
BACKGROUND
*******************
Ahh the Britannia Country House Hotel, a couple of miles from Manchester airport, the perfect place to stay the night before jeting off on our honeymoon, thought my new wife and I in August 2006. We booked online and only paid £64 for a double room with champagne on arrival, and it looked so modern and the name country house just added to the picture in our heads what a perfect start to our honeymoon. How wrong can ... ...We arrived on a Saturday afternoon having got married on the Thursday and stayed a couple of nights at the hotel we had got married in, and as we parked on the large car park to the front and walked up to the front we noticed there was a wedding going on and they were having some photo's taken outside, the exterior looked very nice an fairly modern and the gardens were nice.
As we entered the building though everything changed, the decor inside ...

Fantastic Building - Awful Hotel
Review of Britannia Hotel Manchester, Manchester by
strow
Advantages: Fantastic architure and history to this Grade II listed building
Disadvantages: Now contains a cheap and noisy hotel
...Manchester City Centre, then the Britannia Hotel in Manchester cit centre seems to fit the bill. Unfortunately however, the rooms, atmosphere and general politeness of staff are somewhat lacking. I would recommend staying somwehere else, such as the Portland Thistle hotel next door, or the Piccadilly Gardens hotel (a short walk away). The Britannia does seem to attract most of the stag do's in town and irish football fans when Manchester United are ... ...are two bars at the Britannia Hotel - WAVE bar and Bar-Rogue, I would reccomend avoiding WAVE bar and Bar Rogue on a weekend night as it does attract a lot of unsavoury characters and trouble is commonplace at weekends, the drinks offers are superb though, with many £1 a pint promotions on throughout the week. Both bars offer food all day long at affordable prices and there is music provided by the in-house DJ's. Also located within the hotel complex ...
