Morningside Inn
Review of Morningside Inn, New York City by Theman000

Advantages: close to central park,
Disadvantages: Poor service, no value for money, state of the rooms, cold showers

...from the city centre the value for money would be fairly good. But we were proven wrong. There is a very nice hotels a bit further down the street, probably a bit pricier, but at least you get what you’re paying for. Avoid the Morningside Inn when possible!! ... Read review

Time out in New York
Review of Hilton Times Square, New York City by DC22

Advantages: In the heart of the Theatre District
Disadvantages: Breakfast is a waste of time

...etc etc). The Hilton Times Square has two entrances, one on 42nd Street and one on 41st street. When giving directions to your cab driver make sure you give them the 41st street entrance as this is quieter and you have time to get out of the cab without being run over by NYC drivers. The doormen and bellboys are friendly and the bellboys take you up to the hotel reception on the 21st floor via a fast lift. Check-in was speedy, efficient and friendly. ...
...to their relevant floor. During our three night stay one of the lifts was out of order but this didn't affect the service provided. We never waited more than 10-15 seconds for a lift. When we got to our room I was surprised at how big it was as friends had warned me New York hotel rooms were nothing to write home about but this was spacious, clean, tastfully decorated and had an amazing view. The coffee making facilities were in the bathroom and ... Read review

Would Definately Stay Again
Review of Doubletree Metropolitan Hotel, New York City by sensortech2003

Advantages: Superb location and newly decorated rooms
Disadvantages: A little expensive

...for their breakfasts, and the Doubletree Metropolitan was no exception, however armed with my free breakfast token, I indulged every morning. The food was freshly prepared and there was a wide selection to choose from. Everything from a traditional cooked breakfast to cereals, fruit salads, fresh fruit plus lots more. The food was very nice - but still wouldn't have paid their price for it. The service that the staff in the hotel provided was (with ...
...too much hassle and I didn't feel like I was asking the earth if I needed something. The concierge were brillirant and booked me a helicopter flight with Liberty Helicopters and the porters were always ready to help with luggage storage and they always had a cab ready if you needed it. I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again and would definitely recommend it to anyone - businesses or pleasure travellers. I will definitely be staying here ... Read review

Sophisticated Sofitel!
Review of Sofitel New York, New York City by nickjj78

Advantages: Great rooms, staff and location
Disadvantages: Not the cheapest hotel!

About the hotel: The Sofitel Hotel is operated by the Accor Hotels and is located on 45 West 44TH Street between 5th and 6th Avenues, right in the heart of Midtown, and is the perfect location to explore Manhattan in easy walking distance of Times Square, Grand Central, Fifth Avenue shops, Macy's, Bloomingdales, Central Park, Rockefeller Center, and most of the major attractions! The hotel is only about three years old and is immaculate inside, ...
...at the entrance to the hotel. The check-in staff are efficient, very polite and courteous, and extremely helpful. The most common phrase to be heard as you wander through the lobby is often 'Bonjour' or 'Bonsoir' a nice touch! The rooms: The hotel rooms are quite spacious (not as large as some U.S. cities, but this is New York!) and come with either one king or two double beds. Furnished in light, modern colours and with contemporary art on the ... Read review
