...give the impression that the West Side Inn was a good place to stay if (and only if) the only thing you were looking for was a safe place to sleep. On arrival the staff were exceptionally helpful, offering advice with what to do for my stay and carrying my bags to my room (as someone who had been staying in hostels for the past 3 months this was rather a surprise!). Advantages: Central Location
Disadvantages: Size and quality of rooms. Lack of friendly or helpful staff.

I travelled as part of a large group and stayed in this hotel for a one week period. On first arriving we were made to wait on the rest of the group, although we all had separate rooms. This wasn't fun after travelling for 12 hrs. The rooms are so small that I wouldn't recommend to anyone who suffers from claustrophobia or dislikes 60's type decor as I think this was the decade that the hotel was last decorated. ...pleasure of having my toilet overflow so that the entire bathroom floor was covered with toilet water and another member of our party received free company, in the form of a mouse in her bed, and had to be moved rooms. Staff, especially those on reception, were not particularly friendly or helpful and with no internet connection in the rooms, they seriously overcharge for use of PC's in reception. $2 for every 10 minutes with additional charges ... Edison hotel was built in 1931in true Art Deco style it is situated in the heart of New York. On 228 West 47th Street just half a block from Times Square and one block from restaurant row also either direction you'll have Broadway so the situation of this hotel is perfect. when checking in i was immediately greeted by friendly staff. as usual i thought a lift would take ages and we where on the 7th floor but suprisingly the lifts came quickly. on ...
...the view as it was off a back of the street and became noisy in the morning with lorries delievering stuff. the rooms had really high ceiling with a cupboard with a tv for entertainment and lots of storage for unpackaging. the bathroom was very small , with basic sink, bath and toilet. unfortunately our lock on the bathroom was broken but staff fixed that asap. I told a friend about it and because of that he stayed at the La Quinta in Santa Rosa New Mexico and had a very pleasant stay as well.
