In this website, I found a nice hotel at a good rate. I felt more confident about my decision once I read the ratings and recommendations. The pictures showed a decent hotel room and I have to say that I got exactly that. A double room w/private bathroom, heating, hairdryer ,TV and WiFi for free. Their staff made my stay nicer because they were friendly. The place was well located. It is between Eiffel Tower and Montparnasse. Never more!! I booked two times with budgetplaces and in both cases I have had serious trouble with the owners (for example in the last house I went, Apartamentos Lepanto in Barcelona, I have found some 'cockroach' in my bed). I tried to write to budgetplaces.com in order to explain my complaint and write a review. In both cases, they always told me that they will publish my review but they never have done that. I have to say everything was fine with this company! I was very skeptical about it because it seems new. The website is translated into many languages and I think that is a good advantage. The web was pretty easy to use, the prices were incredible and the hotel in Bilbao was very nice and in a very good location, next to a nice Tapas Place. Budgetplaces was cheaper than the prices from the more popular sites. I checked the price for a hotel using BudgetPlaces.com. When I went back to make the final reservation, just a few minutes later, the price had gone up without warning. Also, the confirmation from BudgetPlaces.com says I must pay in local currency (GPB) when on it's reservation page it had quoted the price in Euros with the local currency in parentheses. The exchange rate for the Euros have been much better than for GBP. BudgetPlaces.com says it will refund my 15 Euros if I improve or delete my ratings.
