Our life on Tortola is very good. People say they are glad to return to Tortola, after visiting the other Caribbean islands,where there is more poverty and crime. We feel it is safe to walk about after dark, and we can leave our house and car unlocked. We have lived here for two winter seasons, one in a marina, and one on the top of a hill, house and dog-sitting. The two life styles have been very different .... you settle for either a house with a view, in splendid isolation or in a marina with a social life!
