Advantages: Location, Large Rooms, Great Views
Disadvantages: Very Pricey, Restaurant and Room Service Expensive

I stayed at this hotel whilst on a round the world trip in October. The Sheraton Darling Harbour is approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour from the airport depending on traffic, we had transfers included in our holiday so im not sure how much a cab would cost, but id imagine they have set tariffs from the airport to Sydney itself. ...situated a very short walk away if you didnt fancy the 5 minute walk into the centre. The rooms are very spacious and nicely decorated. There is a daily maid service and I found all staff to be courteous and polite. The bathroom was large, clean and well maintained. There is no pool at this hotel which was a shame, but there is a gym and a nice restaurant located off the main foyer. The reception offer a postal service for those wishing to send postcards ... The Marriot is truly situated well within the city of Sydney. The only reason I went there is because I booked into a hotel somewhere else in the city, but it was filthy, dingey and there was no way I was going to stay there. The marriot had a few spare rooms, so we checked in. We were there in July (low season) and there was plenty of room to negotiate the rate with the manager. ...even arranged for us to go to a big rugby league match. We did not have breakfast included, but that did'nt matter as there are loads of good places to go in the city for food. The rooms were spacious and unbeleivably comfortable. The health club was well equiped with high quality aperatus. ...outdoor heated pool. The Stamford Grand North Ryde came up trumps on both accounts, but in endeavouring to keep my travel budget down and having forked out nearly £700 for a flight, all the agent websites were way too expensive. Advantages: Clean, excellent service, near to city centre.
Disadvantages: Near very noisy pub, not a great view from apartment.

...other minor fault with the Meriton is we were in a one bedroom apartment but they had placed the beds so that you couldn't close the bedroom door. The location of the hotel was in the centre of the shopping district and to get to the major attractions of Sydney it was a 20-40 minute walk. The facilities in the apartment were excellent and its was very clean with a daily maid service, this covered having your bed made, new towels and replenishment ...
...facilities in the room were excellent. There was the television, fridge and freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, dish washer, washer and dryer and an ironing board and iron. There was also a gas hob which i decided not to risk trying. The apartments were very clean, especially the bathroom which had a sink, shower and toilet and plenty of cupboard space in which to put your toiletries. Advantages: Close to Central Station and within walking distance of most attractions.
Disadvantages: No views.

My husband and I recently spent four days at this hotel. We were pleasantly surprised at how near the hotel is to Central Station. There is no need to get a taxi, it took 5 minutes to walk. The hotel is in an old listed building, which is decorated in the Art Deco style. Our room was quite small but was clean and had everything you would expect from a four star hotel. The only downside was that we did not have a view, but this didn't really bother ...
...only came back to sleep. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the cooked breakfast was excellent. There is a car park in the basement which we used for one night, at a charge, although the spaces are a little tight. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and would definitely stay there again.
