Sydney Harbour Marriott
Review of Harbour Marriott, Sydney by
zw987654123
Advantages: 2 min walk to Circular Quay, great views of Opera House & Bridge
Disadvantages: None, would definately stay there again on my next visit
...a good view of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
Nice pool and well-equipped gym in the hotel, but the attractions of Sydney don't leave much time to take advantage of them! When we stayed the hotel has just undergone a period of refurbishment and everything was immaculate. ...

Go to Sydney, Stay at the InterContinental
Review of Hotel InterContinental, Sydney by
andygrieves
Advantages: Luxurious rooms, great views, helpful staff, great location
Disadvantages: Not cheap, but you get what you pay for.
...useful.
Breakfast at the hotel is nice but expensive. Alternatively walk down the hill to Circular Quay and have a full English at one of the Al Fresco cafes, before going for a cruise around Port Jackson, or wherever your fancy takes you.
Dinner at the InterContinental is also not cheap, but very good, seafood, steaks, etc., served with a smile, and any quirky extras you may require (Heinz Ketchup, English Mustard, etc.).
Basically what we are ... ...view anyway. The hotel could not have been more helpful with hairdos, bouquets, laundry, taxis, organising the reception, etc.
But to put it into perspective, we are going back to Sydney in July, and will be staying at the InterContinental. I travel extensively in my work, and I hate cheap/nasty hotels, so I know this one is OK.
Blimey, I should be on commission... ...

Two weeks in the Shangri La
Review of Shangri La Hotel, Sydney by
aimeeclaire
Advantages: Good location, good service & helpful staff
Disadvantages: Poor after service
We stayed in the Shangri La for 2 weeks in April 2006. I travelled with my family and we shared 2 rooms looking over the Harbour Bridge and Opera House. We arrived on our first day in Sydney and were really impressed with the hotel and its location looking out onto the Opera House and Bridge. i would recommend paying the extra as it was great waking up to the view every morning. The location is ideal for getting to the Circular Quay and all the really ... ...walk so you dont need to take a taxi. The main shopping area is only a 10 - 15 minute walk away. The rooms were really nice with large marble bathrooms and large wardrobes containing a safe (which I will come onto later!). The service we received was very good for example helping book trips and finding an emergency dentist. The food was very nice and there is a good bar on the top floor which looks out over Sydney, although be warned it is quite ...

An Excellent First Class Hotel
Review of Four Seasons Hotel, Sydney by
sjljersey
Advantages: Central Location and Efficient Friendly Staff
Disadvantages: Pricy
...Location
----------
The Sydney Four Seasons hotel is located overlooking the city's famous Rocks district. This gives you very easy access to the ferries which can take you to all the other resorts. It is also a short and pleasant stroll to the famous Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge. It is also close to the city's shopping and business districts.
To reach the hotel from the airport there is a shuttle service for a small fee and it will take ... ...option to have a full four course meal served by a personal waiter in you room. 100% cotton towels are provided and they are massive and along with bathrobes this was very welcome having spent 24 hours on a plane.
The hotel also offers and Executive Club which is located high up in the hotel. For the payment of a small fee guests can have access to a full buffet breakfast, all day drinks and snacks, evening drinks and canapés and a free pressing ...

The place to stay in Sydney
Review of Meriton Rialto Apartments, Sydney by
manimal
Advantages: Clean, excellent service, near to city centre.
Disadvantages: Near very noisy pub, not a great view from apartment.
...other minor fault with the Meriton is we were in a one bedroom apartment but they had placed the beds so that you couldn't close the bedroom door. The location of the hotel was in the centre of the shopping district and to get to the major attractions of Sydney it was a 20-40 minute walk. The facilities in the apartment were excellent and its was very clean with a daily maid service, this covered having your bed made, new towels and replenishment ... ...facilities in the room were excellent. There was the television, fridge and freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, dish washer, washer and dryer and an ironing board and iron. There was also a gas hob which i decided not to risk trying.
The apartments were very clean, especially the bathroom which had a sink, shower and toilet and plenty of cupboard space in which to put your toiletries. The cupboards were all mirrored making it easy for me to have ...
