Advantages: Location, Large Rooms, Great Views
Disadvantages: Very Pricey, Restaurant and Room Service Expensive

I stayed at this hotel whilst on a round the world trip in October. The Sheraton Darling Harbour is approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour from the airport depending on traffic, we had transfers included in our holiday so im not sure how much a cab would cost, but id imagine they have set tariffs from the airport to Sydney itself. ...situated a very short walk away if you didnt fancy the 5 minute walk into the centre. The rooms are very spacious and nicely decorated. There is a daily maid service and I found all staff to be courteous and polite. The bathroom was large, clean and well maintained. There is no pool at this hotel which was a shame, but there is a gym and a nice restaurant located off the main foyer. The reception offer a postal service for those wishing to send postcards ... Disadvantages: None, would definately stay there again on my next visit

Advantages: Great rooms & facilities
Disadvantages: not close to any good reasturants, no direct views of the Harbour

I stayed in the York in a serviced apartment in 2002. We had a great view of the city centre from our balcony, the room was HUGE! and also had (as you would expect from they type of room) washing/drying facilities, fully fitted kitchen, the furniture was of a very good standard (the bed was marvellous!) and we had cable TV (not that we watched it much) also it was a quiet room with no noise from other appts. It was the 1st place we stayed in Sydney ...
...the city to full advantage. In that 1 week we explored (on foot as it is quite small) all of the CBD (Central Business District - AKA city centre) it is all easily accessible from the York. Darling Harbour is a short trip away as is Circular Quay - which is where you can get a ferry to most places in the Sydney area. Advantages: The most spectacular views of Sydney Bridge, Opera and harbour.
Disadvantages: No restaurant, not cheap.

...appeals to you, then the Harbourside Apartments is definitely the place to book. Sydney is an amazing place. It swarms, it bustles, it throbs with vibrancy. It is without doubt a must-see place. ...do you get at the Harbourside Apartments? Well, there are studios, 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom flats to choose from. All the 2-bedroom flats have views over the harbour - and the higher the floor you are on, the better the view (from memory, I think there are about 14 floors). Disadvantages: No view of the bridge or opera house.

Have stayed at this hotel on 2 occasions & was very impressed, The consierge has all the information you could need & can make bookings for you at very short notice, The staff are all very helpful & the rooms appear to be well maintained. The food is of a very good standard & international. Most of the rooms to the front have good views although you probably wouldnt spend too much time there as there is so much to do in Sydney.
