Hertz nearly broke our Hearts
Review of Hertz by
proxam
Advantages: They rent cars
Disadvantages: sometimes
...engaging the Hertz staff in a full and frank exchange of views.
They wouldn't budge, they had NO cars. We could wait for someone to return a car or take the bus to Franfurt Main.
We tried the other car hire firms in the airport but no-one had anything available, so it was going to have to be Franfurt. But not on the bus.
We moseyed up to the first taxi we saw and asked if he would take us to Franfurt airport.
"Do you know how far it is?" he asked.
"What is this? a quiz?" I retorted - well, what I said was actually more like, "No I don't."
Anyway, the upshot is that it is around 80 miles from Hahn so the taxi fare was going to be on the hefty side of substantial. In fact it came to €150 or $150 or 100 of your British quids. Luckily I had a wallet stuffed full of the necessaries.
Great start to a holiday.

The Hertz #1 Club Rip Off
Review of Hertz by
psilk
Advantages: good range of quality vehicles
Disadvantages: Loyalty Scheme is a scam
...Try this one for yourself and see how a "customer Loyalty Scheme" is actually a carefully crafted way of fleecing customers at the pick up desk.
Having been recently ripped off by Hertz by getting a quote which was supposedly a discounted rate and then been stung for over £100 in insurance charges for 4 days as "the car was quoted without insurance and could not be driven", I decided to have a better look. I would point out that this was not the excess reduction charges but charges to be able to legally drive the car with an excess of around £600 still on it.
Heres how it works. You go to the website (as I did this morning) and get a quote. I selected an Opel Zafira for 4 days in Mallorca. You get a price (in this case £78.93) which includes collision damage waver and theft protection. Optional items listed are Super Cover (at 11...

HP - making you a Happy Person!
Review of HP Color LaserJet 3000n by
cobainkurdt
Advantages: Print quality - exceptional to say the least...!
Disadvantages: Loud as hell (to be frank!)
...Introduction
HP - you truly will leave a Happy Person if you buy this product.
Colour laser printing has overwhelmed its old fashioned colourless equivalent. HP's LaserJet 3000n is mid-priced and Max-quality.
Features of the HP Color LaserJet 3000n
The 3000n has the ability to produce 30 ppm (pages per minute - meaning that it has revolutionised printing as it can print a colour perfect quality page in 2 seconds!)
The 3000n can also print the best quality-wise pictures at a colour resolution of 600 dpi x 600 dpi (dots per inch).
Not only can the 3000n produce excellent colour pictures, but it can be connected (directly) to a network (Ethernet) and be used as an individual printer!
The 3000n also possesses a 533 MHz (mega-hertz) processor which enables the printer to convert a complicated document into its printed outline...

What a nice little screen
Review of Panasonic TX-26LXD70 by
AJRAD
Advantages: nice picture, good refreshrate, uber sound, easy to use
Disadvantages: need a separate HDTV receiver
...Originally I did buy this television for the lounge, but decided it was a little too small for that and moved it to my room instead, so I can watch TV without getting out of my lazy state and out of bed. I bought another, larger TV for the lounge but the point is that this TV was so good I had to keep all for myself (and it suits this purpose much better).
Moving on... this television has a refresh rate of 100 hertz, which is really good considering most TVs operate at 50Hz or 60Hz, and LCD screens have a tendency to have less too.
If you don't know what refresh rate is, basically it is how often the image on your screen changes. 100Hz is 100 times a second, which is fast. The higher the refresh rate, the smoother the picture is the general rule.
Twenty six inches (65cm) is quite small for a television these days, but since I'm using...

THE FLAT SAMSUMG.
Review of Samsung LE37A558 by
oki82
Advantages: STYLISH, GOOD PICTURE QUALITY AND LIGHT.
Disadvantages: LOOKS FRAGILE.
...inputs and with the frequency of 50hertz. Electronic guide program is also made available with vertical resolution in pixel of 1080.
It also has 2 scart interfaces and with full HD features.
In terms of selling places, it was bought at Amazon UK market place and at the price of£ 699.00 so I think of making my savings so to get mine.
My thoughts.
The LCD television is some thing to buy but the only barrier there is that the price is of very high value. Apart from that the television is very fantastic with likable features. The only flaw with the LCD is that it looks too fragile and needs to be handled with care....

Oi Sonny!.. Watch the Sony!
Review of Sony KD32DX51 by
mrjames2308
Advantages: Excellent Picture and has a great design.
Disadvantages: Only 50Hz (as apposed to 100Hz)
..., the KD32DX51 is flat screen, this has become the "norm" for televisions of this quality now days. As for the size, the screen measures up at a reasonabley large 32 inches. Which i feel is perfect for family viewing. Any larger and you would feel like you were at the cinema rather then relaxing at home.
--Picture Quality--
This is somewhat dissapointing as all the other features have been great. The television is only 50 Hertz, which means the screen refreshes at a rate of 50 times per second, as apposed to 100 Hertz (100 refreshes per second). By only being 50 Hertz the image is more flickery then that of a television with 100 Hertz. But this is not a giant problem, but never the less, it stops itself from being the best.
--Sound--
The KD32DX51 comes with 2 spekaers positioned on eaither side of the screen. You have the option to use...

HP introduced the best 17" laptop known to man!
Review of HP Compaq Mobile Workstation 8710w by
cobainkurdt
Advantages: HDMI port !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Disadvantages: HEAVY! and to be frank UGLY!!!!!!!!!
...I myself do not own this product. However my friends owns this particular product and I use it very frequently.
This laptop is great for playing games with its seventeen inch HD screen, even better for watching movies, great for surfing the internet as it has 2.4 GHZ (Giga Hertz ) processor speed. There is enough memory ( 2GB) and it includes Windows XP Professional. Not only does it contain these excellent range of features, it also includes : innovative touchpanel, a new graphics chip with an HDMI output and the option to run Windows Vista.
I myself do agree that looks and design wise this product does not cut it - in short its not pleasant to look at every time you go to upon it up to finish off you dissertation!
#
Nevertheless the innovative touchpanel can be used to launch a variety of applications and adjust volume which...

1 year warranty
Videotext/Teletext
Sound System Stereo
71 Screen Size in cm
28 Screen Size in Inch
16:9 Screen Format

Picture Scan Single Scan
100 Hertz Frequency
Digital Tuner
As you can see, there are plenty of features, and we have never had any problems with the TV.
I would recommend this TV to anyone after a new one, if you can't make your mind up between LCD and CRT take a trip down to your local electronics store and look at the difference in picture quality, thats what did it for me!
If you are considering buying one, i would say to take these steps:
Check if your area can receive Freeview without having to buy extras.
If you are also buying new DVD/VHS players, buy Panasonic ones as the sync perfectly.
You might want to get a 5.1 speaker system aswell...

Well worth the money
Review of Acoustic Solutions LCD 32805 HD by
johnphilip
Advantages: Great quality TV without an expensive price tag
Disadvantages: No freeview.
.... This would appear to be a bit of an oversight as this will soon become the broadcasting standard for all. However as they say, you get what you pay for. Having said that freeview boxes are available from most of the big supermarkets now from just £15.
SUMMARY
************
The big question is would I recommend or buy the same set again?
Quite simply Yes!!.
For the price paid, the all round quality is very very good and more than comparable with TV's priced £100 - £200 more expensive.

Dire - 70 per cent extra cost
Review of Hertz by
Kristian
Advantages: None that I can see
Disadvantages: Customer service is useless
...Recently used Hertz for a car rental from Boston airport. The car was booked in this country and a fully inclusive (i.e. insurance, etc) was quoted. Upon arriving at Boston, we were told that the rate did not actually include insurance. To cut a long story short, we were forced to pay an extra 70% for insurances.
We contacted Hertz in the UK several times for a refund. They agreed and said they would fax Boston airport to ensure it was done on drop-off. They 'forgot' to do it!
Upon our return, we entered a very long saga of some people within Hertz agreeing that we had been overcharged and some saying that we had not. Because of their call centre system, it is nigh on impossible to speak to the same person twice.
Eventually they confirmed that a refund would be made plus compensation on top. A week later, we had a call saying...
