Dell 1907FP 19 inch TFT monitor
Review of Dell UltraSharp 1907FP by
craggybuk
Advantages: Crisp image, USB ports
Disadvantages: none
...--Background--
I use this 19 inch monitor in my role of Project Manager. It is the first TFT I have been bought by the company as previously, all staff used the bulkier CRT models. First impressions are that the amount of desk space you save is vast and the image quality is very impressive. You have the choice of either using the VGA interface or the newer DVI interface, whichever you choose you are guaranteed a crisp image.
--Installation--
This monitor is extremely simple to set up even a computer novice would have no problems with it. All that needs doing is connecting the appropriate VGA / DVI cable from the back of the PC to the monitor and then connecting the power cable to the mains. The next time the PC is switched on, Windows (assuming you are using that operating system) will detetect the new monitor and attempt...

Hanns.G 19inch Flatscreen monitor
Review of HANNS.G HU196D by
pte22
Advantages: Cheap, solid
Disadvantages: Not feature packed, problems with high refresh rates, stand not height adjustable
...I've had this for a couple of months now and its been awesome. Cheapest 19 inch monitor ever, does everything a monitor should do and for the price I can't complain.
Although not as sharp as others I use (Hp ones at work are crystal clear) does the job nicely and takes up less space on my desktop than my old 19inch crt. Also has digital and analogue inputs. Not sure about speaker quality as I don't use them, but according to some they aren't much good.
For some reason with a high refresh rate and resolution setting I get blurring in vertical lines spaced across the screen, but only within windows. i haven't worked out whats causing this yet and I'm not too bothered, but it only occurs on 75Hz refresh, not 65. Thats really my only quibble.
Bargain. Get involved....

Top quality 19 inch widescreen monitor
Review of LG L194WT by
daveclark15
Advantages: simple , but fully featured
Disadvantages: none
...with quick-moving images like games or movies or other media usage.
I guess another thing most people are looking for is a good pleasing design , this monitor ticks the box there, it has a thin silver frame unlike bulky monitors from other manufacturers meaning it sits on my desk and looks quite lovely , i really like LG's simple but attractive design.
it has a Digital and an Analog (DVI and D-Sub/VGA) meaning newer DVI cards can input to it as well as any other older card.
Overall this is a fantastic value monitor with a native resolution of 1440x900 (16:10 ratio) which I would recommend to anyone over most other 19" widescreen models....

A monitor you can trust
Review of Trust Precision Viewer 19" by
Rabid
Advantages: Crisp clear picture, big screen
Disadvantages: Needs alot of desk space due to its size
...used to describe a monitor's performance, it refers to the distance between the holes of the shadow mask in a CRT display, it can also refer to the distance between each pixel on a colour screen, it is measured in millimetres. Generally the smaller the measurement the better the display.
(The above paragraph regarding dot pitch taken from...
http://www.helpwithpcs.com/jargon/dotpitch.htm
...as they explained it better than i could have done and i felt this was quite an important aspect of the monitors capabilities and wanted to include it).
The maximum resolution for this 19 inch Trust precision monitor is 1600 x 1200 again whilst not being exactly top of the range it is still more than most people will ever need and indeed as high as most of todays video/graphics cards actually support so this is perfectly acceptable...

The best Monitor you can buy!
Review of LaCie Electron 19blue by
piloteer81
Advantages: TFT busting image, fantastic colours and refresh rate
Disadvantages: USB ports a bit fiddly, price
...first off but you do get used to where it is.
Secondly there are two faint black lines running horizontally, one at the top the other at the bottom each about 7cm from the edge. This is normal for 19inch + CRTs and is just the way the technology works. However it took me 3 days to notice these lines as you have to look directly at them to notice them and they only appear on very white backgrounds. Even in text they are not noticable and are definitely not something you would get irritaed by as they are extremely faint indeed.
All in all pretty much the best 19inch CRT monitor you can buy. I actually picked mine up off ebay for just over £100, but would definitely get one from new had the chance not arisen. The price is fairly hefty but my goodness you get what you pay for. If the weight of the thing is anything to go by it much be made...

19 inches is the biggest one ive ever had!!
Review of Philips 190S7FG by
lynseyb
Advantages: great picture quality, fast response time and looks great.
Disadvantages: NOTHING!!!!!
...is one we all have I am sure, the simple act of browsing the web. Until I got my hands on this 19 inch monitor I honestly didn’t realise just how bright and attractive some websites actually are. The fact that you can see the whole page in Chrystal clear colour rather than having to scroll to the side as I did with my 15 inch dell monitor which didn’t display the colours nearly as well really makes a big difference. I also find that when I was viewing pages with video ads and the likes on my old dell monitor they could be very pixelated but no longer do I suffer that with this Philips monitor which I guess is again down to response time although I am no expert.
Quite often especially during the football season my other half takes over the TV leaving me to watch TV or DVD’s on my pc which up until now wasn’t nearly as good as the TV itself...

A little brother TFT to our 19 inch monsters
Review of HP L1706 by
andycharger
Advantages: Great picture, good colour depth, good features
Disadvantages: No sound
...Along with our top peformance screen choice of the L1906 for maximum resolution and screen size for my IT team, we currently have a large number of the smaller but equally as good L1706 17 inch Monitors from HP
We are a major user here at work of HP products nowadays. The reasoning behind this is we need reliability and quality of service and products. We want a good product that is robust enough to last the test of time with the staff!
So while I was giving my IT team and developers were a huge screen resolution to maximise their working space, I opted for the little brother equivalent for the general office floor. After all, screen size is a little less important and saving a bit of desk space is more of a premium. However we still needed the ability to handle a good size resolution of at least 1280 x 1024.
It does not seem too...

An excellent monitor for the LCD-wary
Review of Belinea 10 19 20 by
Morgoth
Advantages: excellent viewing angles, great contrast, good colour, tiltable screen
Disadvantages: belinea's hot pixel policy, no calibration software
...The review below pertains to the 1000:1 contrast, 8ms *new* version of the Belinea 10 19 20, not the older 600:1 25ms one whose spec is listed above.
Since LCD screens flooded in to dominate the monitor market, I've remained a steadfast CRT fan and LCD skeptic . LCD monitors I'd seen in shops were too contrasty, with shadows that went quickly to black and screens that changed colour and contrast dramatically depending on the viewing angle. Even when sat right in front of LCD monitors that I'd used, I'd noticed that a shift of my head or of position could alter the brightness and contrast of the picture. Not the best, then, for the viewing and post processing of photographs, which is what my monitor is used for mostly.
However, when I needed a new monitor, and I was faced with the fact that there were hardly any CRTs left...

Monitored
Review of iiyama S-901 GT by
kimking
Advantages: great costomer services
Disadvantages: no user guide
...When I decided to purchase a new computer. One of the things I was determined to have, was a larger monitor. The monitor I had was very old and only about a twelve-inch screen. To add to my misery the picture tended to slope down to the left of the screen, as if it were going to slide off the monitor altogether. After putting up with this for quite some time, the thought of a nice big new monitor really appealed.
Much to my regret now, I decided to purchase a Mesh computer. I trawled their web site looking for the right bundle. When I found the package I wanted, it contained a 17inch Sony Trinitron monitor. This seemed adequate but I noticed that for just an extra £20. I could up grade to a 19 inch Iiyama s-900 Digital colour monitor . I knew nothing about the science of monitors but the 19 inch screen really appealed. So I took...
