Incompetence when a 4 hour journey became 33 hours

Advantages: Um, sunshine - no thanks to Golden Sun.
Disadvantages: Cut two days off our holiday, no information, no customer care, misinformation at best. Appauling service. No compensation as yet.

...They may be cheap and cheerful, but far from bargaintastic, when things go wrong, you really do get what you pay for. I'm afraid this is a long story, but if you persevere, you'll be glad you did. I have literally just got back from a weeks holiday booked with Golden Sun, on the volcanic Aegean island of Santorini. My boyfriend and I flew from Gatwick with Excelair, for one week in a self-catering appartment in the resort of Perissa at the Perissa II Studios at a cost of £179 each. With a flight leaving at 6am, we were sold on the fact that after a direct flight and transfer of around 25 mins, we would be on the beach by lunchtime. We left home at 3am to reach the airport for 4am to check-in for our 6am, 4-hour flight to Santorini. At check-in, we queued with the other expectant but sleepy holiday-makers and were told... Review of The Carphone Warehouse by kenigma

Advantages: Good selection, all the networks.
Disadvantages: Very poor customer service/after-sales support.

...in the phone memory, and that because their systems are down, when they upgrade my t68 all my numbers will be erased. To cut a long story short, we wasted 4 hours in two different carphone warehouses, didn't get the phone fixed (and still haven't) and they're still getting the benefit of the insurance we're paying. Ironically on their business cards it says "Rule number 1: If we don't serve the customer - someone else will!" How right they are... next phone I get will be from somewhere else. So beware - insurance will give you a replacement phone if they have one...but it will be a Trium one with no capacity to store numbers in the phone memory. This means if you've got more than 150 or however many you can store on your sim card, you're going to be without the balance... I don't know what other alternatives... Read review
