iPod 5th Generation - Perfect (well close...)
Review of Apple iPod 30GB Fifth Generation by
uselesstom
Advantages: Innovative menus, attractive, video playback
Disadvantages: Easily scratched, converting video formats can be tricky
...Apple's iPod seems to have evolved at a steady pace since the release of the 1st generation model back in 2001. Each new release has provided buyers with just enough new features to entice them away from their previous model and reach back into their pocket for the latest offering. And the 5th generation is no exception to this trend. Probably the most exciting feature of this model is the ability to play video on the new, bigger and better colour screen. The quality of the playback is surprisingly good, and provides great entertainment, especially for those times where you're stuck sitting on a bus in rush hour traffic on the way home from work.
There is a good range of games available, and an improved menu system making it easier to scroll through your music and video library. Couple this with the fact that Apple are constantly...

Roces,The 5th Element A great buy
Review of Roces 5th Element by
ross1809
Advantages: very good for soles
Disadvantages: too heavy for skating vert
...Roces "5th elements" area great pair of inline skates. I paid £300 for my pair, now you may think that is quite expensive, but really that's not a lot as inline skates no cost a lot of money. This pair of skates has lasted me from September 1998 to today!
They are very agressive skates and it is very easy to do tricks on poles and curbs. I find a topside X grind very easy on theses skates as they have a lot of sole room. However, there is one catch to these almost perfect skates! It is quite hard to skate on ramps as they are quite heavy, so if you are in to vert skating these are not for you!
I have come to the conclusion that these are very good skates and are well worth the money you spend on them. I would buy another pair and reccomend them to anybody who is into aggressive inline skating....

Wow its got 5th gear
Review of Peugeot 106 1.1 by
Charlotte987
Advantages: Fantastic big boot
Disadvantages: Not alot of power
...of the car has loads of space in the front and back even when I've got a car full.
THE TEST DRIVE
Well driving along small little roads with one person in the car through the country lanes of a small village is one thing but imagine driving for the very first time on the M25 (motorway) with 4 other people in the car and only have passed your driving test 6 months ago, well that's exactly what I did.
One deep breath and we're away,
My foot was on the accelerator getting closer to the floor,
4th gear,
And we're on the motorway.
Scared that I wasn't going fast enough I put my foot to the floor (literally) and waited to get 5th,
The cars engine made one fantastic noise and time for 5th, so clutch down and oops I went back a gear to third,
The shame and embarrassment I went through with four other people in the car laughing...

"Remember, remember the 5th of November"
Review of Fiction by
LIZKEMPO
Advantages: A story shared
Disadvantages: Loss of a friend
...This is based on a true story, all names and places have changed to protect those involved in the tragic incident.
“Remember, remember the 5th of November”
The 5th of November 2002 is a date that many in my village will remember, not for fireworks and bonfire parades but in memory of a young boy whose life was lost that very bonfire evening.
It was an exciting evening all the youngsters in the village were off to a massive bonfire display, wrapped up in woolly hats and scarf’s, pockets stuffed with cans of beer and cider they waited eagerly at the station. The train arrived, late a usual and they crammed on in hurried excitement. Only 15 minuets later they had reached their destination, they hurried off the train and into the street to join the many others in the celebrations.
They were a big group around 15 in total...

Shall we take a trip...
Review of 5th Avenue by
tuppence_boy
Advantages: Cheap, Cheerful, Not Cheesy.
Disadvantages: If you don't like Indie music, don't go.
.....down memory lane. Ah yes 5th avenue, a place I have frequented many times and have had many a good laugh. Trying to write a review on clubs like this can be hard, especially as sometimes good nights have been had in there for the simple reason that I have been in there with about 10, or so, like-minded people. (By like-minded, I mean people who have a broad taste in indeie music, like to drink cheap booze, and plumb the depths of humiliation in order to impress women). Also I can honestly say I have never been there entirely sober, so if this review seems likes a series of hazy recollections, do forgive me.
The music. The music is broadly "indie", but that shouldn't really put you off. Yes Oasis, the Stone Roses, Blur, The Charlatans etc, are played regularly, but the DJ doesn't try to diversify a bit. Anything from Northern Soul...

Roces - 5th Elements '99
Review of Rollerblading - Skating by
mattmattam
Advantages: Better colours and larger sole space than '98 editions
Disadvantages: Slightly outdated with the release of newer models
...While Roces seem to bring out a newer version of each of their skates once a year, this is one of the only newer versions which I think are worth the extra money.
Roces have always been a reputable skate manufacturer, and the sheer popularity of the original 5th Elements would take some beating. Okay these were not as popular as the original 5th elements, probably because they were not as groundbreaking, remember they are only an improvement on the original skates, not a completely new pair.
The improvements were as follows:
1: A larger negative and positive sole area (the biggest available at the time).
2: A new liner, because the original was not a very good shape.
3: New Hyper wheels, as opposed to the original Senates.
4: Protection for the buckle of the skate, which was prone to breaking.
5: Improved...

Psychology (5th Edition) - Gleitman et al.
Review of Psychology - Henry Gleitman by
disneyeyes
Advantages: comprehensive introductory text
Disadvantages: expensive (but textbooks usually are)
...nicely so you're not faced with page after page of text which can sometimes seem daunting, and, let's face it, a bit boring.
So, the layout is pleasant and easy to follow. Both the contents page and index are well-structured and there's a useful glossary of terms at the back (phenylketonuria anyone?!). The authors know their stuff but explain things with clarity and are not above a touch of humour - which makes for engaging reading.
For the first time, in this edition (the 5th) Henry Gleitman is joined by two coauthors: Alan Fridlund and Daniel Reisberg. The preface states their aim of writing a text that would "present the field in all its diversity while conveying the sense in which it is a coherent intellectual enterprise" - and I reckon they've managed to do just that.
Like many popular psychology textbooks, this was written...

Top Gear with a fuzzy picture
Review of 5th Gear by
Solex
Advantages: Keeps me informed about the car
Disadvantages: I keep getting a fuzzy picture!
...was getting a rather loyal fan base – Top Gear’s fan base.
But, rather surprisingly, I turned on Channel 5 by chance (I honestly don’t watch the channel – HONEST!), and caught glimpse of some cars. Of course I kept it on, only for the Top Gear regulars to come on bragging about their new show on Channel 5, named 5th Gear (what a clever play on words). Once again, Channel 5 snapping up any opportunity for ratings (Home and Away for example)
Having been a Top Gear fan for a while, I tuned in for the show on a Monday, at 8.00pm expecting a show, which mimicked Top Gear. To be honest, I wasn’t far off.
In a similar introduction sequence, I was greeted with a set-up, not too dissimilar from it’s predecessor – quick fire introduction sequence, with fast cars mainly, the ‘what’s coming up...
