Munich - A Beautiful Bavarian
Review of Munich (Germany) by
snowbunni
Advantages: Beautiful City, Great Food, Wonderful Museums, Close to Alps
Disadvantages: Too Many Tourists In The Summer
...'In Munich Stands a Hofbräuhaus'…or so, roughly translated, runs one well-known staple of Munich's beerhall sing-alongs. For many who've never visited this charming city (and perhaps, even for a few who have…) this, along with the even better-known Oktoberfest, an event which, to all intents and purposes, is little more than the Hofbräuhaus writ large, condensed into a month & transferred on to a circus ground, is pretty much all that Munich amounts to. Well, it isn't.
MY MUNICH: I lived in Munich for about four years, in the late-seventies and early eighties. My earliest memories of the Hofbräuhaus involve sitting outside it in a parked Mercedes with my two brothers, when I was about six. Our father would drop in to have a beer, or two, with his German work colleagues, leaving us to wait squabbling in the back seat for an hour or so...

Acqua Di Gio
Review of Giorgio Armani Acqua Di Gio for Him by
vinceyeung
Advantages: Smells Great
Disadvantages: Can be expensive
...Hi. I'm going to share with you my experiences with Armani's ACQUA DI GIO today.
This fragrance came out way back in 1996 following the successes of Armani Mania (1981) and Armani Eau Pour Homme (1984). I have no hesitation in saying that Acqua Di Gio too is a success.
Armani's Acqua Di Gio for Men is constantly being advertised everywhere, particularly in Debenhams and Men's magazines such as Men's Fitness and Men's Health. This was a big factor behind me buying this because Armani weren't going to spend millions advertising this fragrance if it was not good. Neither would Debenhams display posters of it everywhere either.
I also bought my 50ml of Acqua Di Gio because of the positive reviews from word of mouth and from the Internet. I bought mine from Superdrug.
Anyway... Armani's Acqua Di Gio for Men comes in a simple...

Fiori di Capri
Review of Carthusia Fiori Di Capri Eau de Parfum by
mfdecarli1
Advantages: Scent, long lasting, unique
Disadvantages: price, difficulty to find
...The description of an essence is far more complex than the addition of formulas which jointly result in a perfume. Each component is especially chosen to represent a human characteristic, therefore making the perfume transcendent a single sense and, nearly define an entire personality. Fiori di Capri is the definition of class. The aroma is refined and utterly chic in a way that intimidates those who are not comfortable with luxury. Of all the perfumes I have encountered, Fiori di Capri is the most opulent without falling into the ridicule of excess.
In order to understand Fiori di Capri, it is important to regard its origins and the legend which famed the creation of the Carthusia perfumery. Capri is a delightful island in the Bay of Naples and has been traditionally the home-in-the-sun for rich and powerful. There is something...

The Munich Viktualienmarkt is a great
Review of Viktualienmarkt, Munich by
Cosmopolitin
Advantages: good purchase possibilities, very large selection of fresh fruit and vegetable
Disadvantages: on sunny days, particularly in the summer, very full
...I love my Munich much and decided to begin a report row over Munich in which I describe the individual high points of this beautiful city. That would blow up the framework in only one report absolutely. And in such a way it concerns today the resident of Munich Viktualienmarkt:
On 2 May 1807 King Max I. that Marienplatz had become too small as market for grain and other agricultural products. He instructed therefore that a part of the market between "Heiliggeistkirche" and "Frauenstraße" was to be shifted. The "Benefizhäuser of Heiliggeist", standing there, which had acquired the city, was torn off, so that a large place could develop. Thus the vegetable market got its own place, which was called first only market place. Only the word "Viktualien" was very many later used. Viktualien (victualia) - by the way like F spoken - is latin...

LIVING IN MUNICH
Review of Munich (Germany) by
Mataina
Advantages: clean | many clubs/bars/restaurants/shops | can earn much money
Disadvantages: expensive | sometimes too many people
...Hallo all of you!
Today I want to tell you something about Munich, the biggest town in bavaria (germany).
As you can tell from my horrible english, I'm a german girl. Since 3 years I go to munich at the weekends because my boyfriend lives here. Now, I'm actually living in this big town since one year and I want to tell you some facts about this town:
+ WORKING IN MUNICH +
To get a job in munich is not very easy! A lot of people have no job and are hanging around in parks every day. In munich we have especially BMW and SIEMENS, to very big employers.
When I'm talking to friends who don't live in Munich and I tell them what I (or friends) earn, they always look like "What? Now you're rich!". But that's not right because living in Munich is very, very expensive...
+ LIVING IN MUNICH +
Very expensive, like I said...

Munich Walk Tour
Review of Munich (Germany) by
MALU
Advantages: one of the must-see cities in Germany
Disadvantages: none really
...Last summer I was in Munich to see an art exhibition. I didn´t have any plans for the afternoon and when I saw a leaflet ´Munich Walk Tours in English´, (from May 17th to August 31st daily 10:45 am and 3:00 pm, from Sept. 1st to Oct. 31st daily 10:45, meeting point in front of the town hall entrance under the Glockenspiel on Marienplatz, 9 Euro, under 26 years 8 Euro, children under 14 with an adult free), I thought, why not? Why not find out what foreigners tell foreigners about Munich?
Still on the Marienplatz the guide, a young woman from Australia started with a survey over the history of Munich from the year it was officially founded up to today and covered 800 years in about 10 minutes. Our tour wasn´t specified as a historical tour, it was just a general introduction, but we heard more about the reign of the Royal Family...

Logitech diNovo Media Desktop Laser
Review of Logitech diNovo Media Desktop Laser - keyboard, keypad , mouse by
Mr.Cos
Advantages: Ergonomic, rich functions, innovative
Disadvantages: High price
...I consider Logitech to be one of the best manufacturers of input devices and I have been using their products for years. So I would like to give you my own perspective as a professional and a consumer.
A couple of years ago I was looking for a wireless keyboard/mouse solution with a mouse power adapter. The diNovo media desktop just came out that year and I was well impressed by its slick design and excellent features. However, its price was an issue, as it was about 3 times more expensive than other similar solutions on the market at that time. As a Logitech product fanatic I finally decided to give it a go. So I took it back to my office and I set it up.

Everton 3 Bayern Munich 1 - 1985 - DVD Review
Review of Everton - Everton vs Bayern Munich DVD by
newty1977
Advantages: Re live a glorious European semi-final from the 80's
Disadvantages: It makes you sad we aren't this good anymore!
...EUROPEAN CUP WINNERS' CUP SEMI-FINAL - 2ND LEG
Wednesday 24th April 1985 Goodison Park, Liverpool, England.
Everton (0) 3 v's Bayern Munich (1) 1
COST = I bought it for around £4.99 + postage from Amazon. Shop around, there are a number of different websites that will offer a good deal on football DVD's. The Everton club shop, accessible via the website www.evertonfc.co.uk will also sell the DVD, but they have released a better one, which also includes the Final.
EVERTON, still one of English football's most decorated Football Clubs, formed in 1878 In Liverpool, have a rich history and tradition in the game. The club have had many ups and downs, as have I watching them, but somehow sit as the 4th most successful English club with 9 league titles + 1 old division 2 title, 5 F.A. Cup successes, 9 Charity Shield successes...

Di Maggios Home Run
Review of Di Maggio's by
hogg_lynn
Advantages: Cheap and Cheerful
Disadvantages: Not for the conniseur
...I fell it is time to add to the Glasgow Restaurant section, are there no Glasgow Ciao members?
Di Maggios is a Glasgow based chain of mid market, mid priced restaurants. The restaurant I have visited was in the West End of Glasgow, Just off Byres Road on Ruthven Lane. It is not very well signposted from the road and on your first visit you feel that you are going round the back of someones house to get there, down cobbled lanes. I wouldn't advise single females to venture on their own or with your best stilletoes either.
The restaurant was busy on a Friday night at about 8pm and the crowd was a real mixture, some couples, girls nights out, leaving parties etc. The room is very dark and lit with candles, to be honest I did not notice any other decoration as it was dark but the tables were very close together.
We were...
