Advantages: Easy to use; Light; Small; Quick loading times; Performs the basic well and efficiently; Durable Disadvantages: Old; Does not have an in-built camera
..."Petite, light and easy to use, the A55 weighs a mere 84 grams."
I'll be quick to agree with the statement above. The size and weight of it allows for handy and convenient transportation of the phone. It is particularly useful when carried around in your trouser's pocket - unlike most other phones and gadgets, it doesn't show up on your pants thanks to its petiteness.
As for the ease of using it, please pardon my use of a cliché to describe the phone's interface - a "no-brainer". It's simple enough, straightforward, while not loaded with useless and rarely-used programmes one would see in today's mobile phones, thus making it a highly functional phone. Quick loading times adds to the pleasure of perusing the phone.
I would like to add that the phone is highly durable as well - I had dropped my phone more than I'd like...

Advantages: Can be bumped, dropped, scratched, chipped, moaned at and run non-stop... Disadvantages: A little boring perhaps with its dreary display, but who needs colour really?
...Unlike the bricks of the early mobile phone era, the siemens A55 is sleak, pretty stylish, small, and only brick-like in its incredible durable-ness..if that isn't a word, then the A55 has made it one.
As far as cheap-end phones go i would say this is undoubtably the best. Its rivals, mostly Nokia mobiles lack any interest and are a hark back to the days of heavy, square gadgetry.
It's a phone for those people who are not bothered by gimicks such as a camera, video messaging, 1000s of ringtones, on board drinks machine, etc...it's a phone, plain and simple, with the sole purpose of calling people and recieving SMS. This it does very well, and with some style.
It comes with polyphonic ringtones, and a number of others. The display is clear and easy to follow and may be customized in terms of size, images, etc. With a lighted...

Advantages: Small, nice and cheap, easy to use. Disadvantages: Just a basic phone.
...The Siemens A55 is small, reliable, sturdy and cheap. It's easy to use and cheap to run, with good battery life of approx 60 hours continuous.
If you're just looking for a bog-standard, no frills PAYG phone then this could be the one for you.
It has space for 40 text messages, 100 phone numbers, and all the usual stuff, calculator, alarm clock, call records (including missed call feature and free missed call alert) games, voicemail, and a good selection of ring tones.
It's not the top of the range, but then that's reflected in the very reasonable price of £35 (when I bought mine back in Nov 2003).
Mine's still going strong despite being dropped about 15 times.
Also comes in a rather funky metallic orange colour : )...

...05.02.04 - I have edited this so you might just want to skip to the bottom.
I used to have a nokia that i dropped so many times it was held together by sellotape. I shopped around for a new nokia and decided that I didn't want to pay the £80 for a new
