Review of Lancome Aroma Fit Firming Whipped Body Cream by
StefE
Advantages: delicious fresh smell, great texture, leaves skin soft
Disadvantages: price
...I came across the Lancome Aroma Fit Range after receiving a set of free samples including the Smoothing Shower Cocktail, Healthy Body Treatment Spray, Draining Body Oil and this Firming Whipped Body Cream - and was instantly hooked! The first impression was the absolute delicious smell of mandarin and orange, (it literally smells edible) that makes you feel like you are on a tropical holiday. It gives you a great boost in the morning, freshens your senses and wakes you up.
Besides orange and mandarin essences, the cream is enriched with carrot and basil extracts, which are said to have the ability of firming the skin.
Although the cream feels very rich, it does not leave any oily residue and is absorbed easily. It leaves my skin soft, well moisturized and it actually does feel like it is getting firmer.
It is quite pricey, being from...

Gucci - Envy
Review of Gucci Envy for Men Eau de Toilette Spray by
TheSaint
Advantages: Fantastic for going out with.
Disadvantages: Runs out far too quickly.
...This fragrance has a musky odour that feels incredibly fresh. A beautiful aroma that is brilliant to wear when going out. It is a very subtle scent that is not at all overpowering. I would definitely wear this most of the time. It is a very different scent and not to be compared to the lesser 'sporty' or 'fruity' fragrances that are also on the market. It has a very sophisticated odour. This is an outstanding fragrance that I would recommend to anybody and everybody. Every woman I speak to about this fragrance absolutely adores it....

Lenor stay fresh, but only for a while !!
Review of Lenor (Fabric Conditioner/ Enhancer) by
robjak
Advantages: smells beautiful
Disadvantages: pricey
...If theres one thing I remember from my childhood, its the fact that when mum did the ironing them smell that omitted from the front room (where she stood for hours ironing), was absolutely geogeous !
For years I have tried to get that same smell, and having tried every conditionor on the present market, I am afraid I am still searching, though this stay fresh + fabreze lenor concentrate does come very close to what I remember !
PRICE
I paid £1.29.99p in co-op for 1 litre, but that did inclued 33% extra free.
THE BOTTLE
The fabric conditionor itself comes in a clear bottle, but as the liquid is a turquoise colour, this shows through so gives the impression that the bottle is turquoise, it also has a ring of growing fresh grass around the bottle, giving the impression that its a fresh grassy sring smell.
THE AROMA

The Life Force of Plants and Flowers
Review of *Aromatherapy in general* by
Rosemary1
Advantages: Plenty to choose from.
Disadvantages: Should not be used neat on skin.
....
Base Notes: are slow to evaporate, help to fix blends and tend to be sedating, relaxing etc, the aroma can actually linger after a week.
All oils vary in price, this predominately relates to the yield of the source eg you on average will yield approx 20 times more oil from a set amount of Kilos of Eucalyptus than the same amount of Kilos of Rose Petals. This will explain why rose is so expensive and valued so much by the perfume companies.
Very like wine it is important that the plant are picked and the extraction process is done at the correct time, weather etc. This where quality can vary, obviously for theraputic reasons the qulaity of the oil is important.
The extraction processes vary but today it is mainly distillation.
But citrus oils tend to be expressed ( squeezed), others can be solvent extracted that is where we get absolute...

Let some Chilean sunshine into your life
Review of Anakena Chardonnay Viognier 2006 by
zallin
Advantages: Nice balance of flavours, fruity, crisp, great value
Disadvantages: Not hugely complex
...I just absolutely love how at the sub-£5 level Chilean wines come up with the goods time and time again in terms of everyday, informal drinking. In this area they tend to hit home on that oral pleasure spot with the accuracy of a laser guided bomb with those oh so reliable fruit flavours. The wine this time that was playing hedonistic havoc on my palate was a blended white, Anakena Chardonnay/Viognier, vintage 2006. It is normally available at £4.99 from Co-op supermarkets and when on offer at £3.99 arguably a steal.
The Chardonnay and Viognier grapes for this little beauty are sourced from the Central Valley of Chile which is a catch-all for wines produced from grapes which can come from anywhere in this large viticulture region of Chile. The Central Valley is also further divided into sub-regions based on river valleys e.g. Rapel...

Java's HOT
Review of Lush Bath Ballistic Hot Java by
debdebs
Advantages: Very relaxing warm and spicy aroma
Disadvantages: Smell doesn't last long, a little expensive for everyday use
...for relieving aches, pains and stiff joints, and for relaxing muscles. The main ingredients are Ginger (powder, oil and absolute), Cinnamon (powder and sticks), Gardenia Extract, and the oils of Ylang Ylang, Juniperberry and Coriander. (As well as the usual; colouring, perfume, sodium bicarbonate and citric acid).
WARNING: With this amount of ginger content, people with delicate or sensitive skin, and people with skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis, should be careful about using this product, as ginger can be drying and/or irritating in these instances. That is not to say that you can’t use it, but (as they say in the trade) do a ‘patch test’ first to be sure.
>>>The Aroma<<<
The aroma, in my humble opinion, is gorgeous! A lovely warming, exotic, slightly spicy, oriental aroma. Although there is a high ginger content, the aroma...

It's PINK! - Lush Rock Star Soap Bar
Review of Lush Rock Star Soap by
soph71
Advantages: smells lovely of vanilla, violets and candy, leaves my skin soft, moisturised and clean, lasts for ages, lathers up well
Disadvantages: Initial cost
...vanilla floating around me was almost too tempting.
The fragrance is very sweet and could be a little too much for some who like their soaps to be more floral but I absolutely adore Rock Star. The sweet candy aroma lingers on my skin for hours and hours after using the soap and a single 100g bar seems to last for ages. An added bonus is that as the bar decreases in size, little white stars appear in the bar that adds a lovely visual touch to the whole washing experience.
Not only will Rock Star awaken your sense of smell, it leaves skin feeling soft, moisturised and best of all clean as a whistle making it very good value for money and definitely a soap bar from Lush that will be making a repeat appearance in my bathroom shortly.
Hope this helps.

Warsteiner Premium Verum.... Bitte
Review of Warsteiner by
proxam
Advantages: Clean, crisp and refreshing
Disadvantages: Not big on flavour
...Arriving at my hotel in Germany quite late in the evening and too tired to hunt down any particular beer, I sauntered along to the hotel bar and casually perused the choices on offer. Who am I kidding? It had been a long dry day and I was absolutely gagging. I was spitting feathers. In short, I had a drouth on me that would make a camel blush.
I was thirsty!
On tap in the bar was Warsteiner Premium Verum. That being the case, I said to the barman, "One very large, chillingly cold, decidedly wet and refreshingly refreshing glass of your finest ale, my good man, if you please."
To which he replied, "Bitte?"
"If you have any bitter, great." I said. "But I'll settle for a pilsner."
"Ah, you are English" he said, suicidally.
But that's another story......

Warsteiner pours to a very pale, crystal...

Country air can have its drawbacks
Review of Haze Air Wick Crystal Air by
nikkikw
Advantages: Fresh smell
Disadvantages: very strong when first opened
...I live in the middle of the countryside which is absolutely fantastic most of the time, but the aromas sometimes leave a lot to be desired. I can cope with the smell of freshly cut grass and cows in the next door field are not TOO offensive, but the smell of silage is just too much for even the most insensitive nose.
I have tried pot pouri and scented candles but both have a very short life so I decided to buy an air freshener which would first of all work and secondly not run out of smell too fast.
I bought Airwick Crystal Air Aquamarine from Haze. It is a circular solid shape with wavy lines of fragrance going across in an atractive pattern. It cost £1.49 from Tesco and was not on special offer.
It is exceptionally simple to use, all you do is open the packet and place the disc upright on a level surface. The smell starts...
