******************
Like most brothers, Danny and Walter don’t get along and their teenage sister Lisa rarely registers their existence. With their parents recently separated, it can be a lonely world, particularly for Danny, the youngest. When a squabble results in their father having to leave them to return to the office to print some ruined work material out, Danny discovers an old board game in the basement and pleads with his brother to play with him.
Little did he know that by pressing the go button just once, both Danny and Walter...

A fun flight in a plane leads to adventure
Review of The Valley Of Adventure - Enid Blyton by
shorn_the_sheep
Advantages: Adventure, excitement and intrigue
Disadvantages: Can seem a little outdated by today's standards
...I am a huge fan of Enid Blyton books, but out of them all there's none I like better than the "Adventure" series of books featuring 4 children and a parrot.
Unlike the Secret Seven and Famous Five series, I've always thought of the Adventure series as being more "grown up." For a start, it doesn't feature jolly adventures in caravans, and there's no meeting up with loveable gipsies who help the children out in their time of need.
Instead the adventures are darker, and more dangerous, with the children often finding themselves in life-threatening positions and facing seemingly inescapable dilemmas.
THE PLOT:
In the Valley of Adventure the four children - Jack, Lucy-Ann, Philip and Dinah, and Kiki the parrot stumble upon an adventure when they try to go for a night flight with a friend of their mother's. Unfortunately for them...

3 x Adventure with Indy
Review of Indiana Jones - The Adventures Of Indiana Jones (Box Set) by
kiss_me2070
Advantages: Action, Adventure, Humour,
Disadvantages: Violent at times,
...but unfortunately lost. Sean Connery received a Golden Globe nomination.
***OPINION***
This is one of my favourite films, there is a lot of humour with Sean Connery and Harrison Ford acting together and throughout the film I was laughing, gasping and smiling. Definitely my top Indiana Jones film for action and adventure and my favourite part is when we see Indiana as a child running away and ending up in a circus train, which is how we come to lean about his fear of snakes! An addictive film, and I was sad to learn it was the last one (until the release of this year's Indiana Jones film!)

***BONUS MATERIAL***
One-of-a-kind, treasure chest of bonus material. Enjoy over 3 hours of all-new documentaries created exclusively for the DVD collection and supervised by the series' acclaimed film makes, Steven...

A Big Red Adventure in Russia
Review of Big Red Adventure (PC) by
Davius
Advantages: Good sound and graphics with an attention-grabbing story.
Disadvantages: Not the best adventure, and is becoming dated.
..., with the general adventure game actions such as pick up, open, examine and talk as well as an inventory where the main items are stored. Sometimes it is possible to combine items from the inventory in an attempt to create a new item. However, the game can become quite difficult at times as there are points where it may not quite be clear what you have to do next, or which items should be used/combined with something else!
When it was first released, it was seen as a very detailed game that made excellent use of its high resolution graphics, and it boasted over 100 locations to visit, and over 50 people to talk to. Although this is not the best adventure game (it does not beat games such as the King's/Space Quests, Monkey Island or Simon the Sorcerer) it is still quite enjoyable and is a decent point-and-click adventure. It is certainly worth looking...

Sonic Adventure 2, Level Extrordinaire
Review of Sonic Adventure 2 (DC) by
DBZKing
Advantages: good game | its on other consoles | it has sonic and the guys
Disadvantages: it is not as good as the original's | its not adventurous like the first Sonic Adventure
...this by completing the level when you have to race in the karts. Also you can do regular 1 player, by doing the levels to complete the game.
In 2 player, you can do kart racing, once it is unlocked, or you can do Action Race, which is you racing your friend to get to the emblem coin. You can also do Treasure Hunting, which you have to find the 3 parts of the mega crystal. Or you can do Action Battle, which is other words; destroy the hell out of your enemy.
This is a good game; it is for the Dream Cast, which I own, as you will know by reading my review on the Dream Cast. I loved this game, it has many different functions, and easy controls which is very, very good. I hope if you own this game, you will like it also. I must admit that it is not the best Sonic game that has been made; it’s sort of like the first Sonic Adventure, without...

New Adventures in My HiFi
Review of New Adventures In Hi-Fi - R.E.M. by
ickkate
Advantages: An adventurous album
Disadvantages: Maybe a little diverse for some
...this album, I would suggest that this album sounds like a hybrid of 'Automatic for the People' (the album most people associate with these boys) and 'Monster' (an album which confused some of R.E.M.'s followers.) In Automatic there are some beautiful songs whose harmonies and lyrics leave a visual and vocal mark upon the listener; whereas in 'Monster' the action is cranked up with a more grungy sound combining lots of guitars, lots of drums and Michael's voice pushing in gruffer, harsher directions than anyone could have imagined from the band's previous offerings. So, where does that leave New Adventures In Hi-Fi? I would say that it is an album which is much more accessible to the traditional R.E.M. fan than Monster. Automatic's folksy melody is there, but Stipe's voice has an extra depth and variation, that could not have happened without...

The New Adventures
Review of The Adventures Of Greyfriars Bobby DVD by
afy9mab
Advantages: It'll keep the kids quiet for a couple of hours
Disadvantages: It diverges totally from the true story
...When his policeman master is killed trying to save a woman from a robber, brave pooch Bobby is also injured. But as soon as he has his strength back, he takes to keeping a vigil on his owner's grave day and night, despite the initial reservations of the sexton and minister. Befriended by a local boy, the loyal dog finds himself bouncing from one adventure to another as the local mill-owner resolves to get rid of them both.
Director John Henderson's version of the well-loved animal tale feels like a near two-hour advert for the Scottish Tourist Board, not that it isn't a beautiful and fascinating country, but a kid's film seems the wrong place to tout it. The Turkish-delight skies and rolling heaths are very pretty, but don't have much to do with the story. Odder still is his decision to shoot the majority of the movie in Stirling...

American AND THE Adventure for Linda
Review of American Adventure by
SusanLesley
Advantages: A brilliant day out for everyone
Disadvantages: Can be expensive if you don't look for offers
...Just so that you know this opinion has been written in response to Linda’s challenge to write a good opinion without using ‘the’ or ‘and’ – I don’t think I have……
One of my favourite theme parks is one called American Adventure situated at Ilkeston, Derbyshire.
It is relatively flat, quite compact being set around a large lake. You can see across to all rides so it feels very open making it safe for children to run on ahead. It is better than Alton Towers in that respect, where paths twist round blind corners with a lot of walking involved.
When we went in 2000 there was a party of four of us, three adults together with an eleven-year-old child. I had won four tickets in a competition in our local paper. Entrance to American Adventure would have otherwise cost us £54, which...

A good action adventure cartoon
Review of The Emperor's New Groove (Animated) by
Simoncook1
Advantages: Much visual humor and excellent animations
Disadvantages: Not a great plot; a weak movie for disney
...Introduction
Over the years Disney have produced some great animated movies ranging from fairy tales to action adventure movies. Their success is unparalleled as many of their movies move from the big screen to Broadway. However, with the advent of computer graphics, many companies are beginning to compete against Disney. Pixus and Dreamworks are both producing excellent animated movies (Toy Story from Pixus and Shreck from Dreamworks.
Disney therefore are trying to fight back and produce original and exciting animated movies that combine the humor and skill of Disney with the action adventure that children love in movies of this type.
The main plot
Emperor Kuzco is turning eighteen and has decided to treat himself to a wonderful new swimming pool. Finding out about a hill that catches the sun perfectly, Kuzco decides...

Adventures can be fun!
Review of Star Fox Adventures (GameCube) by
qdelaborie
Advantages: Great Visuals, cool sounds and fun
Disadvantages: maybe too easy
...I can remember the days of the Super nintendo, nintendos classic flagship.Starwing(stafox for everyone else outside of europe).when this came out it was revolutionary for the console, nintendo where really pushing that old banger to the limits, and made it a hit. Then came starfox 64,which was pretty good also.
Now there is Starfox Adventures.
As far as Action and adventure games go,this game is one of the first ive played that keeps you interested in playing it. The charicters are very well detailed with plenty of animation and the levels and landscapes are full of detail,it will take you hours to enjoy the masterpiece of a title that Rare have produced.
Now going into the nitty gritty of the game, the story line from the start is intreaging and incourages you to go on.
The control system of the game works very well once you master...
