JORDAN - A Tourist's overview
Review of General: Jordan by  newty1977

Advantages: Wonderful country, with fantastic scenery and history
Disadvantages: Dangerous at present time (Jan '06)

...site, which completely takes your breath away. There is also an area called "Little Petra", where we had visited for an open air dinner the evening prior, also comprising various etches and constructions carved out of the stone, but nothing prepares you for the real thing. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ RUM & WADI RUM ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Our next port of call, was Rum, a little outpost town on the northern tip of the desert, south of the mountainous region. Some of the Bedouin tribes of Jordan reside here, and we stopped by in the local town and partook in the smoking of what is called hubbly bubbly ... It's almost like an ancient style bong, with flavoured tobacco placed in the centre of a brass cylinder (bong), which is smoked by inhaling through a tube, when heated with the aid of water ... potent stuff ! To the south of Rum is the infamous... Read review

Get Your Chops Around Jordans Crunchy Pieces
Review of Jordan's Country Crisp Cereal by  bestmum

Advantages: Quality Ingredients, Keeps Your Bowels On The Move!
Disadvantages: Not enough clusters

..., having an air of ‘I really care about you’ – Bill Jordan even signs the box himself!! Millers since 1855 when the company was founded, Jordans has remained an independent company. In fact, brothers Bill and David Jordan still run the business. So What Is It? -------------- Little clusters of heaven, that’s what it is. Crisp clusters using only the finest conservation grade wholegrain oats and barley (essential in the quest for a continuously healthy heart), roasted hazelnuts and a little coconut. Then, in amongst these little pieces of paradise you’ll find a pathetic excuse for a slice of freeze-dried strawberry. Now apparently, when you add cold milk, the fruit tastes as fresh as when it was picked. Erm…I’ll come back to that one. About the quality of the ingredients: ------------------------------------- In this day... Read review

Is Jordan safe
Review of General: Jordan by  mandyhaley

Advantages: Fascinating country
Disadvantages: Lack of food variety

...You may have noticed a lack of opinions from me recently - the reason for this is I've been on holiday to Jordan. We booked this about eight months ago through Travelbag Adventures, long before the tragic events of September 11th. Although we had some doubts about travelling (and the attacks on Afghanistan started during our hoilday), I must say that the Jordanian people made us feel extremely welcome, and at NO TIME during our holiday did we feel threatened. We took a nine day holiday, at a cost of £900, which included all the major sights. Here's our experience, and evaluation of the trip DAY ONE The trip started with a Royal Jordanian flight including a short stop at Munich. We arrived in Amman at 17.45 and met our tour guide Samir. We booked in at the hotel and then out for a good Jordanian meal in a traditional... Read review

Insight in to the new world of Jordan
Review of Being Jordan - Katie Price by  ciaobabycucina

Advantages: Quick and easy to read
Disadvantages: Me, Me, Me, Peter, Me, Me, Harvey, Junior and more ME!

...My friend actually graced me with this book and said "when you have finished with it, keep it, give it away or give it to charity. I don't want it back". I believe she brought it in Tescos. Anyway, being a freebie off of a friend, I read it. I spent about an hour a night for seven days, and I am not a very fast reader. The print was large and easy to read and the content easy to digest. Not exactly mind boggling. I'm not really a great fan of Jordan, but was fairly interested to read what she had to say. The book started by telling you about her "I'm a celebrity" appearence and how she met Peter. She shows her true colours when she seems to spend an awful long time stalking him and his assistants seem to be giving her the brush off. But no, she doesn't get the hint and carries on persuing him. In the end she is invited... Read review

Jordan And Pete - A Love Story For The Modern Age.
Review of A whole new world - Jordan - Katie Price by  cherwaite

Advantages: Fast Paced, Easy Read, Lots of Juicy Inside Information.
Disadvantages: Expensive, Not Intellectually Stimulating In The Least.

...I love reading anything celebrity wise. Trashy magazines that churn out drivel week in week out is my prey. I read far too many much to the disappointment of my OH, he keeps telling me to put a £1 in a jar anytime I have the urge to buy a mag. This does make sense as I'm on somewhat of a money saving drive at the moment but then I see the latest headlines. Models in Size 0 shocker, Posh eats a hamburger and Jade seeing Sexy new man? Once I have spied the bait, I'm biting faster than a cod. I recycle though.. Just in case your wondering. Who Jordan Is ~~ Jordan (Real name Katie Price) has been about the Celebrity circuit for a while now. Known as one of those celebrities for no apparent reason other than her massive knockers, she has quickly become one of the most successful Female glamour models in the UK. I'm sure everyone has... Air Traffic Are Here
Review of Fractured Life - Air Traffic by  Adam2708

Advantages: Happy and Different with great pop songs
Disadvantages: Some great songs are left out

...Air Traffic are a young four-piece English indie rock band originally from Bournemouth but now located in London. Like many populare recent soft rock acts they use a piano in their live performances and on record. The lead singer and piano / guitar played is Chris Wall. The other three members are Tom Pritchard (Guitar), Jim Maddock (Bass) and David Jordan (Percussion). They formed in 2004 near Bournemouth Airport, hence the name. I first caught Air Traffic at a hometown gig in Autumn 2005, where they were supporting a band whose name escapes me. I really enjoyed the gig but don't recall the other band's perfomance. The local band blew the small crowd away, with their confident and genuinely stand-out tunes. Since then, they've spent almost two years of extensive touring of the country, headlining their own tours as well... Read review

Air Arabia
Review of Air Arabia by  lillygirl

Advantages: Cheap no frill airline covering the Middle East, N Africa and Sub-Continent
Disadvantages: Taxes often more expensive than the flight

...Air Arabia is one of the first 'no frills' airlines to be launched in the Middle East and currently flies to over 30 destinations in the region, including some in N Africa and the sub-Continent. Their current hub is Sharjah, one of the 7 Emirates making up the United Arab Emirates. Known more for it's neightbour of Dubai, Sharjah is one of the smaller Emirates but easily accessible to all of the UAE. The launch of this airline has revolutionised cheap air travel in the region and for people coming from elsewhere, it means that it's now possible to cheaply visist a number of countries without having to pay top notch fares on airlines like Emirates, Gulf Air and Etihad. It's simple to book online and print off your reference number. Some of the destinations are flown to a couple of times a week, but other more popular routes... Read review

In Jordan's World, What Did Katie Do?
Review of Being Jordan - Katie Price by  memphisto_chick

Advantages: Easy reading if nothing else
Disadvantages: Sounds arrogant in some parts

...I actually bought this book a while ago as part of a buy 2 get the third free. I had fancied reading it for a while but I wasn't of the inclination to actually go out and pay full whack for it, so getting it free was great. I'm always curious when someone so young like Katie Price writes their autobiography, surely they should wait until their 50's to write one? Then you think about it, if Katie Price can cash in, then why shouldn't she? She has accomplished quite a lot at a young age and maybe she feels she will do better to continue her autobiographical writings throughout her life rather than wait till she's a has-been and no-one is interested in her any more. As always, I am an open minded reader, I don't make judgements so here is my review of Being Jordan by Katie Price... JUST WHO IS KATIE PRICE... Read review

"I Looked Over Jordan, and What Did I See..."
Review of Being Jordan - Katie Price by  Soho_Black

Advantages: Can be bought cheaply
Disadvantages: No real insight into her life

...If you've ever read a tabloid newspaper or a men's magazine, you'll have heard of Jordan. In more recent times, you don't even need to have done this to have heard of her, thanks to her attempts to represent the UK in 2005's Eurovision Song Contest and her appearance in the 2004 series of ITV's "I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here!" Unfortunately, the hardback version of this book was written before the former and published just after the latter, so it's the tabloid fans that are best catered for here. I would hope that the paperback version will contain more information on the last 18 months of her life, during which she's gotten engaged, given birth to her second child and launched a singing career. Born Katie Infield in Brighton, Jordan's problems with men started when she was three years old and her father, who hadn... Read review

Want To Spend Some Time With Jordan?
Review of Being Jordan - Katie Price by  KarenUK

Advantages: It's an easy read and there are lots of pics if you like her
Disadvantages: It's a waste of time reading it

...Jordan is definitely someone people love or hate. Until I saw her on TV in 'I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here!' I didn't care much for her at all. After watching her budding romance with Peter Andre, I did warm to her more and began to see the differences between Jordan the glamour model and Katie Price the woman. My daughter is nearly thirteen and a fan of Jordan's, so when she received her first autobiography for her birthday, I asked to borrow it after she had read it (and loved it). I had recently read Jodie Marsh's autobiography too and thought Jordan's would be interesting. 'Being Jordan' was released in 2004, the paperback (which we have) came out in 2005 and now she has her second autobiography out! As you can imagine, in her mid-twenties, she must have LOADS to write about - or do we think this is just a marketing ploy... Read review
