Air Miles - cheap flights
Review of Air Miles by
sjstokes
Advantages: Redeemable for cheap flights, Easy to collect.
Disadvantages: You'll need somewhere to store 110 packets of biscuits!
...I first started collecting Air Miles back in the dim and distant past of my university days. To be honest, I paid little attention to them back then. At my initial rate of collection it would've taken several years just to get off the airport runway.
Times change and so do personal circumstances. I started working as a self-employed water treatment engineer which amongst other things meant plenty of driving in between jobs. Plenty of driving means lots of petrol - the Nat West credit card took a hammering. Anyway, it just so happens that Nat West credit cards are one of Air Miles partners and I was earning one air mile for every £10 spent on the card (as a side issue this is now one mile for every £20). A Shell smart card was soon acquired. They too are Air Miles partners so I was earning twice over whenever I bought any petrol from...

For Discounted or Free Flights Queue Here
Review of Air Miles by
ultras67
Advantages: Wide range of places to collect, good range of things to spend
Disadvantages: If you want long haul flights be prepared to wait
...How would you like free cinema tickets, free entry to amusements parks or free flights to anywhere in the world ? Well, if you buy food, petrol, flowers, books, computers, take cross channel ferries, buy car tyres or even buy anything in plastic you can earn Air Miles.
Me too ! I have been in this scheme now for well over 5 years and have received many rewards back. Air Miles in its simplest definition is a reward/loyalty scheme. One of the beauties about Air Miles is that it can be collected in so many ways at so many places.
To collect, just shop in the following places. Supermarkets – Sainsburys where Air Miles are awarded by swapping 500 Reward Points ( their loyalty scheme ) to 20 Air Miles, Fast car repairs outfits – National Tyres, 1 mile / £20, Nat West Credit Cards 1 miles / £20, Shell Visa and Shell...

Something for nothing - and it works
Review of Air Miles by
jamescridland
Advantages: Free flights, and cheap stuff too
Disadvantages: Slightly limited flights
...I've been collecting Air Miles for years now, but waited until I cashed some in to write an opinion about them (and suggest the topic). If I'd have given an opinion about them beforehand, it would be like saying "This bath's lovely and warm" before getting in. Or, er, "Mmm, this tastes nice" before cooking it. Or, well, you know, something else.
-Shut up, James.
Sorry. It's just I like setting the scene, y'know?
-So what are these Air Miles then?
They're a way of getting free or hideously cheap airline tickets, hotel accommodation and days out.
-So how do you collect them?
I'm glad you asked, otherwise this opinion would be pretty worthless. You collect them by buying stuff. But, unlike Boots Advantage points (which, by and large, you can only get at Boots) or WHSmith ClubCard points (which, amazingly, are limited...

Free flights made easier
Review of Air Miles by
mandyhaley
Advantages: Free flights
Disadvantages: Lots and lots needed
...In October 2000, British Airways Executive Club launched BA Miles, which now exists alongside the more familiar Air Miles. They cannot be combined, so do you know the difference?
The Air Miles scheme is continuing as before but beware that flying with British Airways will now earn you BA miles instead of Air Miles. Some other Air Miles partners have also pulled out, for example Vodafone. Although it is early days for the new scheme, it appears to me that Air Miles will become the poor relation to BA Miles.
So what are BA Miles? Basically, they are the miles you now earn by flying with British Airways. You also earn them on qualifying expenditure with a variety of partners, mainly business expenditure, for example Avis, Hertz and many hotel chains. However, you can earn BA Miles at Sainsburys. One reward voucher (£2.50) earns...

JOINING THE MILE HIGH CLUB AT 18,000 FEET
Review of Air Wales by
sue.51
Advantages: Use local airports in Wales & South West, reasonably priced fare providing you book early
Disadvantages: As a small airline it is getting short shrift from Brussels on take off and landing slots, sometimes resulting in delays
...and a figure to match Twiggies, that you will have any chance of joining the mile-high club with Air Wales.
RELIABILITY
Departing from Cardiff, we were delayed by around 10 minutes, and then as we were hitting the runway, we received a call, asking us to go back as 2 bags were missing, we finally arrived in Belfast City about 5 minutes late, our bags were off by the time we entered the terminal.
On the return journey, I was an hour and a half late getting back into Cardiff, again the baggage was unloaded swiftly and within 20 minutes of leaving the plane I was back in my car and ready to set off on the homeward journey.
SUMMARY
I suspect, reading between the lines, that Air Wales are getting short shrift on landing and take-off slots from Brussels because they are the baby of the airline industry; this, combined with their high demand...

More Than Just AirMiles.
Review of Milesource.com by
Sarah_B
Advantages: Easy, free, and rewarding in my experience.
Disadvantages: Yet ANOTHER complete waste of time if you've got a real life stashed away somewhere.
...When Milesource first started a few years ago, I was more than happy to sign up despite the fact that they weren’t offering much of anything. At the time, there was a certain adorable and charming person that I desperately needed to get my jollies with: This person was attending college in another state, and I didn’t have much in the way of money.
So, when I found Milesource.com, I figured it was worth a try.
The premise was simple: You are rewarded with AirMiles (redeemable for free round-trip flights) every time you do something on the site. Some of your options include:
Signing up
Taking surveys
Playing various games (including Solitaire and Trivia)
Referring others (you get 10 percent of their lifetime earnings)
Online shopping through the Milesource portal (a certain number of points for each...

Can't afford air con? read on!
Review of Homebase air cooler ACS-120 by
kat74_uk
Advantages: Functions, value
Disadvantages: Technical help from Homebase
.... However- what it does do is blow out and circulate cool air, rather than a normal fan which merely circulates warm stale air around the room.
Then the next prob, nowhere in Essex had any in stock. I called more than 35 stores, at various loctions. We spent 3 hours driving to several Curry's and Comet's- as they weren't answering their phones (grr).
No joy.
All our argos stores were out of stock.
I wouldn't give up, I know our air quality in my area is bad & we were living in unbearable heat.
I started calling up stores again, but this time I did it via head office's- Argos explained they won't have any for at least two weeks!
B&Q none, but Homebase had ONE! One unit located 35 miles from me, so head office reserved it & we collected it.
Unbeknown to me, it wasn't a 'challenge air cooler' as is advertised on their site...

Korean Air [Review]
Review of Korean Air Lines - KAL by
cookemedia
Advantages: Under-seat sockets for laptop plugs; Fast; Friendly; Free Hotel
Disadvantages: No Seat-back entertainment between SEL and AKL
.... Everything was there, from: cooked breakfast, cereals and fruits to Asian breakfasts.
FREQUENT FLIER PROGRAMME [SKYPASS]
Korean Air is part of Skyteam. It means once you have accrued enough air-miles, they can be redeemed for flights on Korean - or one of its partner airlines. They include: Air France, KLM, Alitalia, Continental and Delta to name a few.
CHECK-IN:
In London I checked-in all the way to Auckland and vice-versa on the way back. I was given my boarding pass to the final destination. In both London and Auckland there was no queue at all. I went straight to the check-in counter.
ONBOARD SERVICE:
The flight attendants all had easy smiles and alluded a warm and sincere charm. They all appeared to enjoy their jobs.
My favourite moment was the safety video - especially the part on how to secure and release the lap...

Air 2000/First Choice Flights
Review of Air 2000 by
mrsmopples
Advantages: Cheap but not cheerful
Disadvantages: Offer you no support if things go wrong
...Now the holiday season is fast approaching, no doubt many of you will be perusing the websites and holiday books for ideas on where to spend that elusive two-week break. To be honest, when booking a package holiday I never really took into consideration which airline would be responsible for taking me to my Mediterranean destination. All I looked for was the nearest airport and then the price.
***** WHO ARE THEY AND WHAT THEY DO ********
Since we travelled with Air 2000, they have since become First Choice Flights. As Air 2000 they were quite surprisingly an award winning UK airline. Every year, the airline's 29 aircraft make on average 30,000 flights from fifteen airports in the UK and Ireland. Air 2000 started on 11 April 1987 and is the UK's 3rd largest charter airline.
The airline flies from Manchester, London...

Clickrewards: easy air miles
Review of Clickrewards - Clickrewards by
pefidler
Advantages: Easy air miles
Disadvantages: Doesn't deliver outside N. America
...I've been a member now since god only knows when and have had no problem with Clickrewards.com. It is an easy way of earning airmiles when you shop online.
Basically, you get up to 6 miles per dollar spent online, and this can be transfered to any airmiles account whenever you want. Occasionally, there are offers of, so that you can earn miles when you sign people up, or a couple of hundred miles for your first purchase with a particular company.
Obviously, you don't get any money, but for earning air miles, it's a great way of earning them.
The only problem is that the company is based in the USA, so most of the companies don't deliever in the UK, although I'm sure that you'll find a way around that!...
