Can you hear them ???
Review of Alpine CDM7858 by
mr_brown_eye
Advantages: stylish, alpine quality, amazing sound, clear display
Disadvantages: cd text doesn't allow you to see the whole track title for more than 5 seconds.
...Aftre driving around for a year in a very basic car with a very basic stereo i figured that i deserved something new, so being a music lover it had to be the stereo. After a few weeks of perusing the local shops and the internet for hours at a time i decided to go for an alpine due to reputation and looks and also because i had heard a couple in stereo shops and the quality was very good.
I carried on looking now having an idea of what i wanted and i came across this, the 7858RB brand new stock released that week and at £280 it seemed good value so i went to look at the spec...

Miles of Music on one Aiwesome CD.
Review of Aiwa CDCR504MP by
thenumnum
Advantages: Free Fitting, Plays MP3, Easy to use, Great Sound
Disadvantages: Not a big brand, not easy to integrate drive stalk
...I have 306, about 7 years old, pretty good nick except for the fact that the Stereo broke. I figured I'd get it replaced by the dealer for a few quid, can't be that expensive. Then I discovered, that all 306s share the same fault in the stereo. Its a manufacturing fault. So immediately, off I went to Argos to get a replacement.
Why argos? Well they give Free Fitting at your home thats why.
I bought the Aiwa R504, with Mp3 capability largely because I knew I could get about 750 minutes of music onto one mp3 cd. I had no previous experience with any Aiwa gear, being a Panasonic fan for all things audio.
I was bloody amazed at just how cool the Car Stereo looked. Nowadays things can look anything between Dull or Garish. Most car stereos, including those by respectable brands such as Alpine or Kenwood, look Garish these days - lots of odd...

She thinks my tractors sexy
Review of Alpine CHM S620 by
Kirsthun
Advantages: Ease of use is great, precise results of what you choose to listen to, Easy touch button screen, many advanced features.
Disadvantages: Very Expensive.
...That is one of the many songs I love to play whilst I use my Alpine CD player. This is the current CD player/CHANGER/Tuner I have in my car. After purchasing my new Sony speakers I was quite desperate for a nice CD Player. My interests were a little more advanced because while I was asking a sales assistant what I was looking for they directed me right past the other CD players, but directly towards this one. It is a mini computer in your car. With it comes along advanced features for the average CD player if you are willing to pay the expensive price, which I think was worth it.
The CD player gives many Improved options to enhance the experience of listening to not only the Radio, but your favorite CD's also. You can shuffle the songs on your CD to play them in the order you desire them to be in. You can also play the songs...

Dont be disappointed
Review of Audi TT Coupé by
jonnyleck
Advantages: Fuel flap is brilliant,sleek,sportie,cute.
Disadvantages: everyone is buying them
...changer and put in a Sony six stack that can also play MP3’s (pretty neat) as well as a 10 stack in the boot. It doesn’t end there however I also put in a Alpine amp and subwoofer (but I insist those weren’t really needed) Oh and all speakers were upgraded.
Next the exhausts at the back, they are too small and are curved to be part of the bumper, now it is my opinion that you either decide to show your exhausts or you do not. Audi seem to have gone for a sort of show, so to speak. I immediately got rid of the twin exhaust system and put in a over sized remhus system.
The front bumper on the TT is two high from the ground and is not sporting enough, as such I had this ripped off and replaced with a Caractere sports bumper.
The engine itself is very sound, however for a sports car it just is not fast enough. The TT can...

A change from Brit to American 4x4...
Review of Jeep Wrangler 4.0 by
el-em
Advantages: Fun, not many on the UK road, higher than most vehicles, a PROPER off-roader
Disadvantages: Heavy on the petrol, tendency to slide on wet road, no ABS brakes
...on the road - if you enjoy attracting a bit of attention! Possibly makes this less of a theft target too.
Security is limited to an immobilizer (Thatcham approved), and your ignition key is "chipped" with a transponder, so only that key will start your Jeep.
Interior glove box/cubby hole and centre storage box are lockable with the ignition key - so somewhere to stow the valuables when you're out in your Jeep topless (with the roof off in other words!)
The Chrysler radio tape is not that great. A CD changer option is expensive, so I changed the head unit. Went for an Alpine front loading CD unit that does MP3. My local in car sound specialist had a kit to adjust the dashboard fascia opening (Chrysler head units are double height) and a wire-harness adaptor kit to convert from Chrysler to Alpine. The fascia kit and wiring kit were £25.
One...

Pump up the jam
Review of Alpine CDA-9851R by
skuzzle
Advantages: Best sound quality in its price range
Disadvantages: Ugly as sin
...The ultimate in ICE (in car entertainment). ALPINE!
A big name for many years in the automotive industry delivering some of the best amplifiers, headunits and speakers available.
The CDA range definately does not dissapoint. Featuring all of the classic alpine qualities including the old alpine look with the 4 buttons to the left of the round volume control (which now functions as a whole lot more).
Its an absolutely ugly headunit as all alpines are, a pig to operate and I dont think there is anyone in the world that has mastered every option on an alpine unit since they first started producing them, but from the moment you first power it up you fall in love with the depth, warmth and clarity of the sound reproduction. My favourite trick is to leave the eq exactly as it comes from factory, but to increase the subwoofer output level...

Feature packed Pioneer
Review of Pioneer DEH-P 7500 MP by
eddierog
Advantages: Sound quality, 3 pre-outs, MP3 + WMA playback.
Disadvantages: Model now discontinued.
...is very good and stereo imaging excellent. High frequencies are good without being harsh from the factory fit tweeters, and mid range also good from the Ford speakers.
Main features include 50w x 4 on head unit, MP3 and WMA playback from CD-R and -RW discs. CD text. 3 pre-outs inc a sub-out. 3 setting loudness control. IP bus control for external cd changer, tv tuner, DAB tuner. Sound focus EQ with independent bass / treble controls for front and rear channels. Organic EL Display with screensavers, background animations + Clock Display.
This review is based upon the Pioneer DEH-P7500MP which is a discontinued model now. An equivalent Pioneer model now would be the DEH-P5900MP with prices from £135. You can also take a look at the current Alpine range with many similar models around £140. Take a look at this website “http...

San Remo CD34 - Style, Performance AND subtlety?
Review of Blaupunkt SAN REMO by
Radical-Machine
Advantages: Panel Release - Lots of Features - Great Price
Disadvantages: Screen susceptible to Glare.
...I bought this head-unit over a year ago now for about £80. It's now much cheaper than this, but at £80 it was great value.
The front panel is attractive and looks great on the dashboard. It looks striking but doesn't use garish colours like other popular brands, Alpine, Sony, Clarion etc. The white on black display is also very nice, but is susceptible to glare if you're using it in the midday sun!
Feature-wise, the San Remo CD34 is rich. It features a great EQ allowing you to manipulate Bass and Treble, and also what's called X-Bass, which is a nifty tool for creating harmonics above a certain sub-bass note which allows the ear to perceive lower harmonics than are actually present. Great if you have speakers unable to replicate deep bass frequencies. It also has 3 EQ presets, Rock, Classical and Pop, which are useful for quick...

Good, but could be better
Review of Alpine TDA 7570R by
drummingbunny
Advantages: Number of features, sound quality, radio reception
Disadvantages: Overkill
...I have owned an Alpine 7570R Cassette/Tuner since Christmas and I am fairly pleased with it. It was a replacement for a standard fit radio which had been playing up and I had hankered after an Alpine for a while. It has a huge number of features (most of the buttons have multiple functions) and it will take a good few evenings with the manual before you can do more than turn it on.
It has all of the radio RDS features that you'd expect from Alpine: AutoSearch, traffic information, radio station messages and programme information. All of these features (except the radio info, which is just distracting if you want to see which station you are listening to) are useful and I like them.
Other good features are the Programme Search function for tapes to allow skipping forward or back as many tracks as you choose. It also has a removable...
