...The Rules of Attraction I am a great fan of Bret Easton Ellis. In my teens ‘American Psycho’ was my favourite book and that’s probably why I was so disappointed with Mary Hallan’s film adaptation. Perhaps it’s because I haven’t read ‘The Rules of Attraction’ that I found Roger Avary’s interpretation of Ellis’ work such a visceral delight. I should start off by saying this is not a film for kids, the faint-hearted or the easily offended (the same can probably be said for my review). So if you’re a Daily Mail kind of a guy I’d just stop reading now cos you ain’t gonna like it. The pre-credits sequence pretty much sets the tone for the rest of the film and neatly sums up its central elements. American Airlines has its own in-house flight magazine, American Way, provided to each passenger. The magazine is published twice a month and does contain some interesting articles including information about holiday destinations and attractions, book reviews and airport maps. It also has a few pages of puzzles including a sudoku page which kept me busy between films. Two meals are served during international flights. One is a main meal with a choice of two meals - nothing fancy but edible - lasagne or chicken and pasta with a bread roll and a flapjack. Advantages: Cheap, good for kids

...I have visited many theme parks in my time and being a 27 going on 18 year old I am looking for cheap thrills. The American Adventure seemed to fit the profile “free entry” (collected 7 tokens from the Nottingham evening post) and good reviews for the parks main attraction “The Missile” (opened by Buzz Aldrin no-less) . We arrived early and parked in the car park right outside the side (now Main) entrance all good so far. handed over my tokens crudely ripped out of the paper and was given a park map. When we entered the park it was clear that the missile was the farthest most attraction so we decided to go on the “Twin Looper” the first attraction you come across and no Q. Advantages: Dark, dry humour, superb acting.

...In brief, American Psycho is set in New York in the 80s and deals with the life of Patrick Bateman - a successful, intelligent and attractive man. He is a picture of perfection in most ways, yet he is psychologically unsound. Adapted from the novel, 'American Psycho' by Bret Easton Ellis, who is a very accomplished and sophisticated author, the film delves into the mindsets of the Wall Street bankers and exposes the greed and mentality of the decadent higher classes of the time. I don't really want to explore the plot too much as I believe experiencing the plot and film is a very individual experience - I don't want to dilute it. ...Im actually going to enjoy writing this next review, partly because ive probably seen the film a hundred plus times, and yet have never got board of its quality. This review is on the academy award winning American Beauty, starring Kevin Spacey. Now im actually a really big Spacey fan, some of his work including The Usual Suspects and K PAX have been some of his best work. He has the knack of just making you admire what ever character he plays, he has a sort of presence that makes you feel this film is going to be powerful. He has a humorous side, he can play a dark side you name it, I even liked his recent portrayal of Lex Luther in Superman Returns, the role really suited him.
