Revising the GCSE Anthology for AQA
Review of Revise the English and English Literature Anthology for AQA A - Tony Childs by
denella
Advantages: Very detailed guidance
Disadvantages: Less able pupils may struggle with some aspects
...I must emphasise at the outset of this review that Revise the English and English Literature Anthology for AQA A is intended for pupils taking GCSE English examinations, but only those who are studying the AQA Specification A as is clear from the title. (AQA is an examination board.) Pupils will be supplied by their schools with the AQA Anthology itself (Oxford University Press, ISBN 0198318812); the Anthology is not available in online or offline bookshops, but if you did need to obtain a copy, you might find one on Ebay.
Tony Childs' book is therefore intended to assist with revision of the Anthology, by taking the poems and short stories one by one and asking questions that will guide pupils in the understanding and analysis of the works. The book opens with a six-page introduction that explains the aims of the book, how it can...

Rocky Anthology
Review of Rocky Anthology (Ultimate Edition) by
dharma.roy
Advantages: Cheap, Great Entertainment
Disadvantages: Not HD, No Rocky 6 Included
...Overview
This box set is called Rocky Anthology which is one of my favourite film franchises. It is also one of the biggest films of Sylvester Stallon's career. This box set includes Rocky 1-5 however does not contain Rocky 6 which is the final film in the franchise, so if you want the whole collection I suggest you do not get this box set and go for "Rocky - The Complete Saga" box set which contains all Six films. Sylvester Stalone is both writer and star of all 6 Rocky films.
Cast
Sylvester Stallone (Rocky Balboa) Rocky started off as a loan shark at the same time he was a small time boxer. As a loan shark he was asked to do things he did not enjoy but carried on because he needed the money. He is also a southpaw which means he is a left hander boxer. He is also known as the Italian Stallion which is used as his...

Rocky anthology
Review of Rocky Anthology (Ultimate Edition) by
blissman70
Advantages: Entertaining films and great advice on training
Disadvantages: loses the plot after number 4
....
More brutal hammering and blood splattering later and both fighters hit the canvass in the final round…only one gets up in time.
The third rocky (1982), well called Rocky 3, was great. Mr T was the arrogant new comer who wanted to take the title from Rocky, which, after the death of Rockys trainer Mickey, he did by knockout.
Then when Rocky got his head back together, with the help of his wife, Adrian, he offered Mr T a re-match and got to training, with the help of the ex champ Apollo.
The training montage was its usual fantastic showing with a great soundtrack.
The fight sequences again were fantastic, blood, snot and tears, until finally only one winner, and you know who.
Then we had Rocky 4, (1986) which was ,and will always be, my favourite film of the lot.
This time a monster of a Russian fighter, Ivan Drago, (Dolph Lundgren...

Russian At Portsmouth
Review of Russian by
KarenUK
Advantages: wide variety of related courses, can learn Russian from scratch
Disadvantages: none
...I studied BA Russian and Soviet Studies at Portsmouth University from 1988 to 1990. Unfortunately, I did not complete the four year course, due to getting married and then having a baby a year later.
The course was the reason I chose to go to Portsmouth, moving 210 miles from my home in Lincoln. I have been interested in the USSR and the Russian language since following the successes of the Soviet team (especially the gymnasts) at the 1980 Moscow Olympics.
I became fascinated with the Cyrillic alphabet and wanted to learn the language. I had an opportunity to do this with a short night school course as a teenager, which whetted my appetite to study it further.
One of the advantages of the course at Portsmouth was that you could learn the language ab initio. The other parts of the course sounded fascinating too, as it included...

Geffen Anthology: Summer Time Blues!
Review of Young Lust: The Aerosmith Anthology (The Very Best Of Aerosmith) - Aerosmith by
benraiben
Advantages: 2 Discs, 34 songs
Disadvantages: 70s era songs are missing.
...**This review was originally posted by me (benraiben) on another opinion site. I found this UK site and have signed up (more convinient being British) and posting this previously written review by myself here. - This work has not been stolen.**
Young Lust: Gathering 34 songs from Aerosmith's career
This was my second Aerosmith album which I purchased. As mentioned in my other review, I don't judge the songs as to if they live up to songs earlier in Aerosmith's career. I just judge the songs for as they are. I don't see any point complaining about what isn't on the CD but should have been. Take it for what it is, is what I say.
This Geffen Anthology of Aerosmith songs consists of 2 CDs in which tallies up 34 songs. One major problem is, if you have a collection of Aerosmith songs already, you are in danger of having duplicates...

Brewer's Anthology of England and the English
Review of Brewer's Anthology of England and the English - David Milsted by
Martinscholes
Advantages: Fantastic book
Disadvantages: None
...received Brewer's Anthology of England and the English (written and edited by David Milsted, published by Cassell, £25.00) as a Christmas present. And it is one of the more intriguing Christmas presents I have received in recent years.
It is a weighty, substantial hardback book, and s worth every penny. It is an eclectic collection on and about all things that appertain to or which are about England and the English. It is in turns both humorous and tragic and also sometimes a combination of the two.
It begins with an explanation of the title (it is a quote from an MP, read the book to find out which one, and under what particular set of electrifying circumstances they were uttered) and continues through a tempestuous collection ranging from religion, sports, cats, dogs, rats, there's Tacitus on the Britons, there is the poetry...

The complete anthology of dawn of war!
Review of Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War Anthology (PC) by
m_lucas11
Advantages: Great games, great graphics and great gameplay.
Disadvantages: takes up alot of space when all are installed.
...The Dawn of war anthology consists of the complete Dawn of wars series that is Dawn of war, Dawn of war: winter assault and Dawn of war: dark crusade.
Dawn of war:
Dawn of War was voted 2005 game of the year and it is clear to see why. Dawn of War is a real time strategy that follows the same sorts of game play that the command and conquer games follow but from the point of view of the Warhammer 40,000 armies. The idea of building a base and then using each different type of building to create an army in order to crush the opposition is the main aim of the game. The campaign mode the player commands the Blood ravens chapter as they strive to win back control of a conquered imperial planet from the clutches for the Orks and the Chaos. In skirmish mode you can play as one of four teams, the space marines, chaos, Orks or Elder...
