Apple PowerBook G4 - All looks and no muscle?
Review of Apple PowerBook G4 - PPC G4 1.67 GHz - 15.2" TFT by
Radical-Machine
Advantages: OSX is slick, Gorgeous looks, Great Bundled Apps!
Disadvantages: Extremely Expensive, Gets Very Hot!
...resolution is 1440 x 960 which is superb! But do you see the pattern? Everything that's great about the PowerBook is peripheral and accessory based! The guts of the machine are old hat. I doubt even the new MacBook Pro is as great as Apple claim it is. They've always been "optimistic" about their benchmark tests (remember the G5 and that court case?).
Ultimately, I'm shocked at the profit Apple made from me. I doubt the machine cost more than a few hundred pounds to manufacture, yet it was priced like a top-performing product and was made with out-of-date technology. Very little was available to identlfy the processor's performance against other similar Intel and AMD based systems and I feel let down by Apple. The machine is barely used for small admin tasks which are suited to its capabilities these days.
I doubt I will be purchasing Apple...

Apple PowerMac G5 Dual 2.0GHZ
Review of Apple Power Mac G5 - PPC G5 2 GHz by
Nouse4aname
Advantages: Amazing Speed, Brilliant Design, Easily expandable
Disadvantages: Expense
...I was a little hesitant about purchasing this computer after the speculation surrounding the benchmark tests Apple had published, but when the PowerMac finally arrived I was absolutely amazed by its power.
Enclosed in a beautiful all aluminium case, the machine is virtually silent (unless you're really pushing the processors and the fans are going nuts!). The machine is much taller than the G4 PowerMac it replaces and is really, really heavy.
The machine has a superb array of connections including digital audio i/o and Firewire 400 & 800.
The inclusion of PCI-X slots and a maximum RAM capacity of 8Gb makes this unit ideal for professionals in Audio, video and print design who are likely to need to expand there system in the future.
With optimised versions of Photoshop, Quark and Final Cut Pro etc. avaliable it will make light...

Apple Power Mac G4 Reveiw
Review of Apple Power Mac G4 - PPC G4 733 MHz by
KurtMastaK
Advantages: Cheap, Runs OS X, Looks nice
Disadvantages: Noisy, Not That Fast
...Apple are the best makers of computers and OS but if like me you dont have much money then the G4 is probably the one to go for, as it has all the greatness of apple mac at a much lower price.
I got my G4 off of ebay for a very reasonable price about 5-6 months ago and it was a great change from my old dell PC which was painfuly slow and overloaded.
External Issues:
The G4 Quicksilver is a very sexy and nice looking tower computer although some people dont like the sliver effect i think it makes it look sleek and proffesional, also some people dont like the fact that it is finished in plastic but i think this mackes it look nice and shiny. The clear handles are another nice effect as they distort any thing on the other side of them. One of the bad things about the G4 is that it is by no means silent and if you keep the original...

Apple's Powerful MacBook
Review of Apple MacBook Core 2 Duo 2.2 GHz - 13.3" TFT by
Surj1
Advantages: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2GHz processor, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, i-Life & i-Sight
Disadvantages: None
...The Apple MacBook MB062B/B is executively designed for a mobile lifestyle with Intel Core 2 Duo processors, 1GB of memory, and large hard drive. It also has a number of innovative features, including a built-in iSight camera for 1 to 1 or group video chat on the go, iLife '08, Front Row, a nice 13inch widescreen display and supports dual displays. I have used Mac Notebooks before and have to say this is the most advanced and affordable MacBook. It gives you power and mobility, neatily packed into a beautiful compact design. The MacBook comes in 2 colour, white and black, I prefer the white being Apple's trade mark colour. The MacBook will keep you glued to it as you wont need anything else courtesy of built-in Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and AirPort Extreme 802.11 which gives you up to five times the performance and twice the range of previous...

"Have a BITE of this Apple!!!"
Review of Apple Power Mac G5 Dual - PPC G5 2.3 GHz by
mightyd
Advantages: Awesome Graphics, Extremely Fast, QUIET!! 2.7 GHZ......
Disadvantages: ooo..... - Talk about Pricy??
...the specifications on this beauty - your jaw will drop right down to the floor as did mine. I don't really understand specifications fully as I am sure the majority of you don't either but I do my best to translate that foreign language. "I don't actually own one of these but I was fortunate enough to try it out for a week and if you get the chance, I highly recommend you do!"
