Top Arai helmet for style and protection!
Review of Arai Condor Ice by
jpasurvey44
Advantages: Protection, designs/style, vents, visor changing ease, removeable insides
Disadvantages: Noise and Price (depending on budget for safety)!
...I was bought a Yellow designed Arai Condor a couple of years ago (couldn't find yellow to review so chose blue/same helmet, different colour) for a Birthday pressy which cost approx £350 (Don't know how much exactly due to it being a pressy).
I thought straight away that the design (not just the colour for me) was smart, striking and up to date. Arai is one of the top manufacturers of helmets in my mind and a brand name too in the motorcycling world! They are used by top racers in everything from British Supersport to Moto GP and have been around for years.
The vents are minimal and easy to use with gloved hands, especially the chin vent. The Arai helmets also have vented visors which are rare and are easily opened/closed to allow extra air flow through the top of the helmet. The air flow helps keep the head cool in warm weather, I...

Arai Quantum F to protect my thoughts
Review of Arai Quantum/f Helmet by
Mr_Farlock
Advantages:
Disadvantages:
...In the last 10 years I’ve changed 4 motorbikes and many many helmets: this year I’ve decided to buy an Arai NR-3 after having the opportunity to try a Quantum F for a few months.
I toght it was time to buy an helmet not for the look, but for having the best safety!
First I would like to say that Arai helmets have different prices but the same quality and protection power. You can buy other good helmets, expecially FM and Shoei, but most of the bikers know that Arai is the best for one main thing: the shell!
The Arai one piece superfibre laminate constructed shell, combines styling with protection.
The helmet is constructed in such way that the energy of a severe impact is absorbed through partial destruction of the shell and the inner shell.
In general two kinds of materials are used for the outer shell of helmets: one...

Craft RX9 Barracuda
Review of Craft RX9 Barracuda by
andrewj100
Advantages: Looks cool
Disadvantages: A little windy
...If you’ve always fancied the Simpson Bandit but were put of by it’s lack of BSI sticker (a legal requirement), or you’ve always fancied a helmet that’s a little different then take a look at these!
http://www.craft-helmets.co.uk/ is the place to go.
I bought one a few months ago, my old helmet, a Shark, was falling to bits after 5 years. That is five years of not to much use but as I got my bike back on the road I thought I’d makes sure my head was safe.
My girlfriend saw it first, a Simpson bandit look-a-like in mat black, while I was trying on an Arai.
It was the right size so I thought I’d give it a go, I was instantly supprised at how well it fitted, nice and snug in all the right places. This has got a lot to do with the shape of your head, I don’t get on to well with Arai’s so if you...

Delay, delay, delay and then some more delay
Review of Condor Ferries by
alistairr24
Advantages: Cheaper than flying & Friendly
Disadvantages: Slow, Late, and loud
...After deciding to visit Jersey, we thought it would be easier to have our own car to explore the island. Therefore we needed to book a ferry as near as possible from our home, which would be Weymouth. Friends of ours had used the Condor Express operated by Condor Ferries which operates from Weymouth and Poole and they said it was fairly quick, so after obtaining a reasonable quote (£370 for the car + 5) so we decided to book.
A few days later the tickets arrived, no problem, all in order, times all correct. Finally the day came for our trip, all excited we arrived at the port with plenty of time, as they ask you to be there an hour before the departure. When we arrived we were told all day trips were cancelled, I feel sorry for people who travelled a long way to get the 7.30 ferry to find their day trip cancelled. The ticket...

Friendly service
Review of Condor Ferries by
leggb
Advantages: Gets you there quick
Disadvantages: Boat rocks about lots in rough weather
...Once a year i take a trip out of Weymouth on the Condor fast ferry to the channel islands.
Condor run one of the most advanced catamarans that there is, getting you and your car to Jersey in 3.5hours. From the start when you book your tickets you see how friendly the people that work there are. You are always given help for whatever you need.
*On Board
When you get onboard you are given a reserved seat number. This is where some of the only dificulties start. You have to look for your zone and then your seat number. On the Condor Express there seems to be a problem where the zones and the seat numbers dont match up. After you eventually find your seat you can be left sitting next to people that you dont know. It dosent really matter as you can get up and walk around the boat. The ferries have duty free shops, bar and cafe...

Gets you there quickly (when they are running)
Review of Condor Ferries by
drewish
Advantages: Fast. Fairly spacious inside. Comfortable.
Disadvantages: Hopeless in rough weather.
...I often travel to Jersey, as quite a few of my relations live there.
The last few times I travelled by plane from Coventry, as it is more convenient, but sometimes, stung by my conscience into not flying, I make the long journey down to Weymouth, or Portsmouth, or Poole to get the Condor.
If you are taking a car over to Jersey, then the Condor is your only option, as they have a monopoly on ferries to the island (having put the other ferry operator, British Channel Island Ferries, out of business ages ago).
If not, then you can always fly. If you live near the South coast, then I would take the ferry - it is probably about as expensive (£30 day return, but prices vary up to £70-80 for a longer return for one adult). At the moment, there is a sale on - only £14 day return to Jersey.
I tried booking a ferry online as preparation...

GOOD PARK
Review of Porta Ventura Theme Park, Salou by
nursenightshade
Advantages: FUN, CHEAP AND VERY CLEAN!!!!!
Disadvantages: 2-3 DAYS AND ITS DONE
...Went to port aventura last year(2006) on holiday, this park has the potential to be as good as disney paris if they keep adding and updating.
The rides were good, Dragon Kahn fantastic and a must i also dared to brave hurrakan condor which wasnt as bad as it looks so be brave and get on it.
If you stay in a portaventura hotel you get fast past onto the big rides to use once so basically you walk straight onto the rides, this comes in when it is very busy. If its not busy save your passes for another day just in case it gets too busy.
If you have children and are small they need to be good at walking as theres lots of it and hills.
We didnt watch any of the shows as they were all in spanish and no transellation headphones like disney do which is a real shame.
I would reccoment this to families especially if you like rides also...
