...I recently had to purchase a set of CD-R's to produce some CD's, for legal reasons I should point out!! So I brought a set of the 'XQ' version, along with the 'Q' version produced by Philips. Made in Germany, the 'blurb' on the packaging states: 'For use with all Digital Audio CD-Recorders. Philips CD-R Q/XQ offer high quality, digital audio performance.' But do they really offer high quality?? Well, the majority of the CDs were used to burn mp3's, so that would partly rely on the quality of the mp3's more than anything, although after listening to them via the CD, there were absolutely no apparently signs of the quality of the songs having faded after being placed on the CD. Occasionally, I find that some CD-R's don't work when being written on, possibly because of the speed of my computer drive, but thankfully not one... Read review

...What can i say about the Cambridge Audio Azur CD player. WELL...... its CLASS! The design is amazing with the blue LCD power light and the very clear LCD screen to show what track you are on. The remote control is very well built and heavy, not in a bad way but in a way that shows the quality. Another advantage about the remote is that it works with all AZUR products. I currently have the CD player and the AMP and they work perfectly together and all by using the one remote control. There is only one little thing that i could possible comment on that they could have improved on. If your lazy like me and have the CD tray open and do not want to press the close button then the off button it will not automatically shut the tray for you. It turns off and leaves it open. Fortuitously it was about this time that the makers created the compact disc. They were a big hit with the people and soon became more popular than the audio tape. Everyone bought their audio tape collection again on compact disc and lo, were even more impressed. The makers were happy because they were selling their entire back-catalogues on the new format. The people were happy because there were no more chewed tapes and no more waiting to rewind or fast forward to their favourite songs. Could the people want for anything more? Of course they could. ...would expect to pay £20 for the software. Check when you buy what software comes with your CD Writer. I would recommend any CD Writer that comes with Adeptec software as it is the best on the market in my eyes. Installation. -------------- Installing this application is very quick and simple. It is a relatively small application so it requires very little hard disk space (Under 2 Mb). A reboot is required to make it function properly as it has to register files in your registry. Usage. -------- When Adaptec starts, the Dull grey menu gives you 5 options. The last option is just for upgrading the software. Most users will not need this as it offers so many features already, the upgrade will be uneccessary. ...I own a Musical Fidelity a3.5 Amp & Cd player and decided to upgrade my speakers to get the most out of my system. I went to Super-fi and Sevenoaks to hear what they had. I was immediately frawn to the Monitor Audio delection by these little speakers, but when i saw the price tag of £800 i thought they were overprices, especially seeing as they are only bookshelves. after tyring out some B&W 603 speakers i felt a little disapointed by the lack of detail and crisp-ness of hi-hat reproduction. I chose one of my favourite songs Nickelback - Someday as the song i would use to test all the different speakers.
