Advantages: Clear, Precise Vocals, Great Production
Disadvantages: Some really cheesy tracks

...Tarja Turunen made her name with Finnish metal band Nightwish. Classically trained she has peformed in Europe for some years on the Classical circuit. This album translated into English as 'Breath Fromk Heaven' comprises many Christmas songs, and features the 2 tracks from her earlier single 'Yhden Enkelin Unelma'. Turunens voice is both clear, and precise on this well produced CD. Some of the songs are a little cheesy - but allownces for this can be made due to her outstanding voice. She peforms a memorable rendition of 'Ave Maria' which is probably the best I have ever heard. ABBA's Happy new year (Track 3) is not such a good song. ...This fantastic place has closed as Jean-Jacques retired recently after his 75th Birthday. I hope you enjoy your deserved retirement! The Lauging Onion was a Brighton institution. The owner/chef/host cooked first, washed up, and then entertained diners with his 1950's era cabaret act. Thanks to the cheap house wine, by the end of the night guest s would would be emotionally singing along to the la vie en rose, or heckling for Ave Maria. Jean Jacques would often end by singing that love was all that counted - in the alchohol fuelled world of the Lauging Onion it really was. Sadly Missed. The nights out I had here genuinely have been some of the highlights of my life. There will never be another like it.... Read review

There, the star-tenor arranged a concert for the benefit of his foundation 'Warchild', which takes care of children in war zones like Bosnia (in 1996). Advantages: good mix of music

...I could not, even if I tried, write anything negative about this double CD featuring Aaron Neville. This man's voice is phenomenal and wonderfully unique. He is originally from New Orleans and has a wonderful New Orleans Rhythm and Blues sound. His voice will reach your inner being every time he opens his mouth and a note comes out! There is a wide spectrum throughout this particular collection. We have the up-tempo and foot-tapping beat of 'Oh happy Day' & 'I saw the light' to the sultry, moody sound of 'Ave Maria' and 'Amazing grace.' ...Russell Watson has made a great CD here. I am not a classical music fan and only bought this CD for one song that was on it. I must say that I have been very plesantly suprised by the content. ...This is an opinion about Charlotte Church in general. Unfortunately, I could not find a place for it to go, so I am putting it here, under her album slot. Charlotte Church has done very well for herself in her short career. After all, she is 14 years old and bought her mother a mansion. How many people can say that?! She sings many "classical pop" songs: Pie Jesu, Panis Angelicus, Jerusalem, Ave Maria, I vow to thee my country.... as well as a number of her native welsh songs. Her repertoire is built up of songs that everyone knows and loves, and quite frankly, hear too often! ALthough her vibrato gives an illusion of maturity, underneath it there is little support in the higher register and there is no change in her tone colour. ...As Christmas is around the corner, I thought will be better write about "These special moments". What is more appropriate than listening on Christmas day, Christmas songs…? For these days I always liked listening the classic choruses like: Holy night, or Ave Maria, or Happy Christmas…and so on, as we all know that are so many other Special Christmas Songs. These Are Special Times, I love it, I received it as a present last Christmas; knowing that I love Celine Dion's voice very much, my husband bought it for me from All Records Shop. I was so happy, because I wanted to have her album for a very long time, but as the times were, always I was forgetting buying it, or when I was remembering there was no other album on the shelf…bad luck, till last year ;-) As I found it under the Christmas tree, I smiled and I took it to listen...
