I redecorated with B&Q white emulsion
Review of B&Q Emulsion White by  colin272363

Advantages: DRYS QUICK AND KEEPS ITS COLOUR
Disadvantages: I hate applying emulsion, very messy

...I had been meaning to decorate for a while but had been avoiding doing so because i hate having to paint sealings as i always get paint every where dripping on the floor. Keep in mind that when painting with white emulsion it will stain your carpit so make sure you put news paper down covering the whole work area. This will help you to succed in where i failed ! When i finaly motivated myself to goto B&Q i picked up a tray of this emulsion which contained about 5 liters, but different quantitys where avalible. (I only had to do the hallway). It was inexpensive and cost me less than £10. Be sure you get your self an extended roller to use if your applying the emulsion to a sealing. A little fine brush may also be required to do the small fiddely bits. When i got home i cleared the work area and made sure the sealing was clean... Read review

B&Q Paint aint it great
Review of B&Q Emulsion White by  gillenium1

Advantages: It washes out of your clothes and is very cheap
Disadvantages: It took 2 coats to get rid of darker backgrounds

...have stated previously in this review it cost me £5.98 from B & Q, this was for 5 litres, which in my opinion is great value for money, if you were to go out and by a branded tin of paint with the same amount in it can cost you anything up to £20. This would be £4 per litre, whereas this is just £1.10 per litre. Overall I would definitely recommend a trip down to the local B&Q, if you are looking for White emulsion paint anyway, it is cheaper then most others (if not the cheapest) and even washes out of your clothes with ease.... I should be a shareholder in B and Q
Review of B & Q (Shop) by  Bevdav

Advantages: Literally a one stop shop
Disadvantages: running out of stock, could do with a points reward card

...thicker than normal emulsion and actually covers up our appalling bumpy plaster walls, we’re a long way of smooth walls in our house, but it certainly covered it better than normal emulsion. We used a creamy colour on the walls, it wasn’t cheap was around £16.98 a tin and really we needed to buy another tin to get two coats out of it, but I’m afraid I said no it looked nice how it was. One thing we found out, it wasn’t washable, not a good idea with my cooking. My auntie gave us some tiles so we bought a big tub of grouting because we’d be using it in the bathroom as well. The tiles that were put up in the cooker alcove are going to be painted with tile gloss if we can find a colour I like. A tin of tile gloss was around £8. What we intend to do is buy some stick on ceramic fruits and vegetables that B&Q also... Read review

Pink to white in an instant
Review of B&Q Pink To White Emulsion by  oldwasp

Advantages: Good coverage, Best with roller
Disadvantages: Turns white to quick

...a while was running down the handle of the brush but this was to be expected when painting a ceiling. Other than that splashing and drips were minimal. ~~<*>~~Applying roller~~<*>~~ With a roller the result is a little better the paint stays pink a little longer but not by much and you soon found yourself struggling to see where you have painted. The paint goes on easy with the roller and coverage of the emulsion is quite good but 2 coats were required to cover a light magnolia colour, it has been a while since i have done any decorating so can not compare the coverage to any other make. ~~<*>~~Conclusion~~<*>~~ The price difference between the normal B&Q emulsion and the Pink to White is about £2 so would recommend you spend it on something a little more helpful like a nice bar of chocolate.... great paint
Review of B&Q Emulsion Coloured by  noddytiger

Advantages: great coverage and choice of colours
Disadvantages: none

...B&Q colour emulsion is absolutely fantastic, tey are available in a vast array of colours, there are literaly hundreds of different coloured paints all available in different shades ranging from pastels to bright and vibrant colours. It costs £9.99 for a 2.5 liter tub of this paint or £12.99 for a 5 liter tub, one 2.5 liter tub is big enough to cover a small bedroom, bathroom or kitchen. The paint is very thick so doesnt drip everywhere, goes on very smooth and covers very well, you will only need one coat to cover a lighter colour or a colour of the same darkness. This paint is wipeable if it gets dirty but not washable although they do the same colours in itchen and bathroom paint which is water proof so can be washed. Al of these colours are available in silk or matt finish and are fantastic to work with,... Read review

1st came the clothes and now the paint, what next
Review of B&Q Emulsion Coloured by  mumagain

Advantages: See opinion
Disadvantages: None

...I know that the name on the tin does not state it is B&Q paint but as I have only found these paints at B&Q, I figure this is the best place to put this up. I got my DIY head on again, we have done the floor, painted the walls and put up dado rail just one thing left to do, the ceiling. Originally we wanted to paint the ceiling silver, yep I hear you all thinking have you both lost the plot. No not really, we just wanted to be a bit different in at least one of our rooms and has we have a chrome snake light and picture frames along with silver or grey electrical goods, silver curtain pole, so silver sounded great. Well that was in theory but in practice it proved some what difficult to find a silver paint that was for use on walls and ceilings. So we had to go for the next best thing metallic paint. As we have... Read review

Its allwight
Review of B&Q Emulsion White by  mumsymary

Advantages: Good cheap paint
Disadvantages: I do not really like D I Y

...I sit here at my computer and look up at the ceiling. I see a white ceiling it is a papered ceiling, painted over with B &Q white silk finish emulsion. Most of the other ceilings in our house are also painted in this white paint. You may say a white painted ceiling is boring why not add some colour we did consider this, but I like a light bright room and white reflects the light makes a room look larger than if it is painted a colour. The walls are coloured anyway. Why did I choose b &q paint? Well I have B&Q close to work its easy to call in after work so there is the convenience of buying at B&Q, Next I have used other B & Q paints and find them nearly as good if not as good as named paints. A long time ago we used own brands paints and they were not very good but this paint is good quality paint Then there is the price... Read review

Mr & Mrs Scampi have fun up against the wall.
Review of Crown Paints by  scampi1

Advantages: Does what it says on the tin.
Disadvantages: Not the cheapest

...dark creamy colour (that's the best way I can think of describing it). This product claims to be a 'one coat ' product that should negate the need to paint walls or ceilings twice as is usually the case with emulsion paints. It also claims to be virtually odour free as it contains Crown's patented 'Breatheasy' formulation. So on using this product I decided to pay particular attention to these two claims. BUT BEFORE YOU PAINT YOU HAVE TO BUY THE PAINT FIRST, RIGHT Unless you intend nicking it (which I in no way condone) that's correct. Before splashing out on a whole tin we decided to see which colour we liked first. Paint charts are all well and good but they still never truly reflect the final colour of the paint on the wall, so firstly we opted to purchase a few test pots. These cost 98p from B&Q, which may seem a lot... Read review

One coat..some hope
Review of B&Q Emulsion One Coat by  baeswoman

Advantages: Goes a long way
Disadvantages: Doesn't do what it says

...---------MY EXPERIENCES---------------- Last summer I repainted my downstairs shower room using B&Q One Coat Emulsion Brilliant White Paint. It did exactly what it said it covered my faded yellowing white paint and restored it to Brilliant White in one coat, Encouraged by this experience upon tackling the spare room which had been painted a rather ucky shade of dirty orange some 10 years ago -yes ceilings too - we decided that One Coat would be the best paint for the job. We stripped the walls of all wallpaper, filled the numerous holes we found in the plaster underneath and began to paint. First the ceiling.. Brilliant White One Coat Matt Emulsion My son used paint pads I used a brush The paint had a very smooth creamy consistency and both of us managed to transfer it from the pot to the ceiling without making too much mess...
