B&O Beocom 4 Cordless Phone
Review of B & O Beocom 4 by
Jvan3
Advantages: It sounds good however, my panasonic has the same functions and serves me well also. It costs $40.00 US. It's beaaautiful to look at and makes a statement in your home.
Disadvantages: It hasn't a page function on the base unit if you misplace the handset . The battery is not replaceable or serviceable by the owner. You must take it to the B&O Store you bought it from. It cost $350.00 US.
...This phone is stunning to look at. It is simple and minimal in it's design and function. It sounds good but, no better than other much less costly phones I've owned.
It's intuitive in it's functions and ease of use ( mainly due to the spinning wheel and centered select button within the wheel a la The Apple IPod).
The phone hasn't a page function for misplacement of the handset ( which I've done on many ocassions). I've never seen a modern cordless phone without a paging function.
The battery is not servicable , replaceable by its' owner. This again I've never seen on any modern (recent model) cordless phone. You must bring the phone back to your B&O dealer if the battery needs replacing.
None the less I've decided to keep the phone as I love the aesthetics. It just looks teriffic...

Review of a Panasonic TH-42pz81B
Review of Panasonic TH-42PZ81B by
bazza111375
Advantages: good with Xbox console
Disadvantages: price
...Review of a Panasonic TH-42pz81B
Not a bad bit of plasma kit, a bit expensive but with panasonic you pay for the name,
The picture very good, blacks a quite decent, glare of the screen is very low, in High Def full 1080p the picture is very sharp and coulorful, movies are cool like being in the cinema but without the idoit eating skittles next to you. Sound quality is good but if your paying this for a TV you can afford home Cinema system.
I found unlike My Lg 42inch plasma this TV works really well with Xbox360 and Playstation 3 console, well up there with LCD for gaming.
Good HDMI connection and other ports, would recommend this TV, the only way your going to get anything better is to stump up sony prices...

LANDS END TO JOHN O'GROATS (12 MONTHS APART!)
Review of John o'Groats (Scotland) by
kismet
Advantages: ITS THE END OF THE COUNTRY
Disadvantages: Nothing much to see here
...In September 2003 we took a trip to Lands End. I will do a separate review on that, but will just say here that it was very commercialised and cost a fortune.
In September 2004 we went to the Isle of Skye (another separate review already written!) and decided to go on up to John O'Groats so we could have our picture taken by the signpost there (as we already had the Lands End one).
We were amazed when we got to John O'Groats as it is so deserted compared to Lands End, which was nice.
We had booked into a B&B there for the night, but wished we had booked further down as it was a really quiet place and very cold due to it being so exposed! However, we had friends to visit in Caithness, Wick, so could not go too far away.
John O'Groats consists of a large carpark, toilets which you had to pay 20p to use! and a couple...

The Panasonic NV DS29B - What Its Like.
Review of Panasonic NV DS29B by
adzemaster
Advantages: Good Average Weight, Very Simple To Use.
Disadvantages: Menus Quite Hard To Navigate.
...The main aim of this review is to inform people what this review is like. This may help someone to decide whether to buy this camera or not, or it may just be a second opinion. Whatever it means to you I hope you will find it useful.
This camera is a very good one but since this has been released technology has improved by a great amount! The amounts of features are just about what anyone who wishes to make home movies could want and in return you also get good value for money.
This is a camcorder, which is very easy to use after a few uses. The buttons are conveniently placed and clearly marked out. However they could be slightly bigger or spread apart because sometimes they can get hard to press. If you wish to dive into the further, more advanced features, then it helps to open the instruction manual. Most of it is easy...

Good Grief! A Mobile Review From Old Misery-Guts!
Review of Motorola RAZR BLK by
BNibbles
Advantages: Styling, build-quality, size
Disadvantages: Too easy to cover the camera in fingerprints. Wot, no case?
...ascertain that you've got a phone worth nicking somewhere in your car. Turn off Bluetooth
(Reason no. 2). Running an extra radio transmitter when you don't need to depletes the batteries at an alarming rate
Also, actually talking takes the battery life back down to a maximum of 430 minutes.
Oh yes: it's FULLY Bluetooth-enabled, allowing both speech and data to pass over a radio link to compatible kit. I stress 'fully', because I kicked off my Bluetooth career with an O2 X1b from Tesco's for only 60 quid, just because it said it was 'Bluetooth', only to find that it's just about the only mobile around that ONLY speaks to headsets, not PCs. Of course, the 'tick-list' at Tescos doesn't mention this.
Oh well, that's the wife's Crimble present sorted (the X1B, not the V3 - you think I'm soft?), although she'll still insist on something...

Philips 30" LCD Television
Review of Philips 170B2M LCD Televisions by
lona
Advantages: Brilliant picture and outstanding appearance
Disadvantages: No assurance on how long it will last
...asked how long an LCD screen could be expected to last, the customer service person said it was unknown as they are just newly out on the market.
As Philips themselves do not know the expectancy of this model I have decided not to accept a replacement and have gone for a convential widescreen telelvision until the LCD models are more fully tested.
This is only my personal view on this particular model and although I could have been just unlucky I would advise anyone who might be thinking of buying this Philips 30" LCD to ask as many questions regarding their durability as I don't think anyone knows and time will tell as to how they will stand up to regular use.
I will be sorry to see it go as I was so impressed with the quality of the picture but at the end of the day, I did not want to have a television that had...

"O" I say, you saucy man, Damien!
Review of O - Damien Rice by
Museness
Advantages: Amazingly beautiful acoustic music, from the best artist!
Disadvantages: The shot gap between the album and the bonus tracks!
..., "O", in Ireland in early 2002, and in July 2002 the album was released in the UK and it received widespread critical acclaim. Damien went on to release the album in the USA and Europe in June 2003, with Damien appearing on The Letterman Show and receiving more advertising from publications, such as Newsweek. However, Damien Rice still seems to be incredibly under-rated especially in the UK.
Damien Rice has worked with the band that he usually works with live and on his album "B-Sides". They are:
Damien Rice: Vocals, guitars, clarinet, bass, percussion and songwriter
Lisa Hannigan: Vocals
Tomo (Tom Osander, formerly of "God Street Wine"): Drums and percussion
Vyvienne Long: Cello
Shane Fitzsimons: Bass
some other musicians are featured on different tracks on the album, playing various instruments, such as the improvised piano...

P&O Ferries (Tazzywazzy's voyage épique partie 1)
Review of P&O Ferries by
tazzywazzy
Advantages: Cheap and Cheerful - does the job!
Disadvantages: Not much to do on the boat, not good if you get motion sick!
...the Monday off....Phone boyfie....come up with Plan B.
Plan B worked like this, leave Wednesday afternoon and return Sunday evening, but it was Tuesday, and summer hols are starting, I started to worry that this may be easier said than done....
We didn't do much shopping around, as we were really pushed for time, we checked the tunnel prices and ferry prices. Using tint-er-net we found that we could get la voiture (that's some French speak for ya) on a return ferry crossing on P&O ferries from Dover to Calais for £120 (inc. £10 fuel surcharge) or go on the tunnel for £140, we decided as this was so last minute we would go for the cheaper option and boyfie went ahead and booked it.
In the interests of writing a tres bon review, I decided to check out ease of use of P&O's website, so I googled it and came up with two websites - poferries...

P + O Cruises on the Ocean Village
Review of P & O by
jmryanuk
Advantages: Good Food, lots of nice places to visit
Disadvantages: Plenty of them, just take a look at this review....
...this useful.
The ship is very busy, and at times it felt like "Butlins" on water, you couldn’t rest very much onboard during the day for all the noise around you from the children and entertainment.
I spoke to several people onboard during the week, they said they had paid half of what I paid by booking last minute and they had FREE upgrades to cabins with a balcony.
I was very disappointed as we had paid alot of money and it was a special occasion, Our honeymoon was not acknowledged by the cruise company or any staff at all, we were offered an upgrade prior to the cruise but would of had to pay several hundred pounds for the privilege.
I would not recommend this holiday to anyone, I did contact P+O Princess Cruises who own the Ocean Village - I told them everything in this review, they wrote back to me stating that there was nothing...

Sign O' The Times
Review of Sign O' The Times (Original Soundtrack) - Prince by
KTDouthwaite
Advantages: An original sounding double disc
Disadvantages: Some of the songs are a little dated
...I have to admit that I’m filled with trepidation at the prospect of writing this review. As any of you who have cast your critical eyes over my previous Prince album ops will know (and if you haven’t looked, please don’t), they were, well, crap. In my defense, I was a newbie, and, as I often point out, I was actually unaware as to how Ciao worked, and didn’t know anyone would actually be reading my reviews. Why did I write them then? Um, pass!
Anyway, in an attempt to redeem myself, I’m making a one-off effort to review another Prince album: “Sign O’ The Times”, originally recorded and released in 1987. Following the demise of his backing band The Revolution (best remembered for performing on his “Purple Rain” and “1999” albums), this two-disc album was created before Prince’s recordings with the New Power Generation, and it heralds...
