W220 - Fab phone or failure?
Review of Motorola W220 by
redstorm12
Advantages: Price, appearance, size and intergrated FM radio
Disadvantages: Screen size and quality, unable to download media files
...I purchased the Motorola W220 approximately 4 months ago, to replace my previous Motorola V547, which had recently broken. Being someone who cannot go 10 minutes without a mobile and short of money at the time, I quickly decided upon the W220, that I would use purely on a temporary basis until a 'more suitable' replacement could be purchased. However, after 4 months I have yet to find reasonable justification to replace the phone, however as with all budget priced models there are issues with this phone that I personally find annoying.
Firstly the advantages. For me the biggest advantage of this phone was almost certainly the price. Although the RRP of the W220 is £49.99, I paid just £29.99 for the phone from Woolworth's, and it came with £5 free credit!! Having scoured the internet for hours after my purchase, I am now...

Toshiba 28W33B
Review of Toshiba 28W33B by
christina1012
Advantages: Range of viewing screen sizes, Fantastic picture quality, price
Disadvantages: none
...I have just bought the Toshiba 28W33B 28in widescreen television and am so amazed at how brillant it is, We didn't pay a fortune for it either, (£279) which makes the very high standard of it even harder to believe.
The manual is quite easy to understand bit to much explanation on some things but overall was easy for me to understand
Fantastic picture quality one of the best i have seen in a while, shows programs and films in perfect quality,
When first switched on you may have to adjust the brightness and colour settings to your own comfortable viewing standard.
Menu selections (colour, screen adjustments etc) that come up on the television screen using the remote are easy to understand. Just remember to click on store after altering things!
Menu screen consists of picture, sound and feature,
Feature includes sleep...

Kool Sound CDS 220
Review of Kool Sound CDS-220P CD System by
Sonikah
Advantages: Size, features, looks.
Disadvantages: Unseamless loop & not instant start
...This review is for the Kool Sound 220 & not the Kool Sound 220P which is exactly the same apart from the very modest 200W built it amp.
Bought this unit for back-up purposes only, but can be easily used as a main system. I have started to use it more & more along side my other main twin decks so I have 4 decks constantly on the go.
I am also in the process of converting to digital DJ'ing by using the Numark iDJ2, however, even though almost all my music collection has been transferred onto 2 external HD i have decided to carry on using the CDS200 unit when I convert so I can still play CD's CD-R's if needed.
The great advantages of this smart looking system are its size & the many features it holds. Firstly it has a really good built in mixer with 3 separate EQ levels, volume & gain controls for each deck, plus a master volume...

Motorola W377
Review of Motorola W377 by
Chuckles1987
Advantages: Great budget phone
Disadvantages: Lack of instructions, few extra features
...I bought a W377 after my old faithful Sony Ericsson packed in a while ago.
*****Specifications and Features *****
As you can see from the picture it is a flip opening mobile and quite stylish. The phone has an external mono icon display screen which has useful icons informing you of new messages, calls, and battery status. The internal TFT 65k colour screen is 128 x 160 pixels which provides clear and colourful display
Available in black (liquorice), grey and pink casing (see photographs).
The phone is similar in appearance to older models theW220 and the W375.
The handset weighs 95g and is 99 x 45 x 18.6mm; which I've found to be a good size when using.
On the front of the handset above the external screen there is a built in VGA camera with 4 x Zoom. The internal screen acts as a viewfinder when taking a photograph...

SONY W800I-TO BE OR NOT TO BE?!!!
Review of Sony Ericsson W800i Walkman by
zafar26
Advantages: 2MEGAPIXEL CAM,LARGE MEMORY,RADIO,LIGHT
Disadvantages: NO EDGE, NO WIFI-, MEMORY CARDS EXPENSIVE
.... The music player comes with megabass and a loudspeaker and theres also a ability to connect the music player on to a pc using audio cables which are available seperately.
You can create a playlist including album names, album types, artist names etc.. so a lot of variety.
CAMERA:
Again the new market is based on 2megapixel cameras of the highest quality, linking in with other phones such as the sony k750i, the samsung d600, the nokia n70 and further planned phones including the w900i,the nokia n90 and nokia n91.
Obviously theres a zoom function, a very good flash and the video recording is quite good and theres many different modes of taking photos., ie, standard, night, portrait and landscape., you can change the settings in order to suit yourself. iT HAS A VERY GOOD 262,144-colour TFT SCREEN and has a 176x220 pixel screen which is very...

Olympus TCON-14B A must have for the E-10 or E-20
Review of Olympus TCON 14B - converter by
jouk04
Advantages: converts 4x to 6x zoom, well made
Disadvantages: must be used at full telephoto
...This is a conversion lens for the Olympus E-10 and E-20.There are not many lens accessories for the E-10 just a couple of mid range conversion lenses and one giant 300mm lens, for bird watchers. I recently bid for a TCON 14B on auction site and am very pleased with it considering I got it for less than half price(£75), I am not sure if I would have been so impressed if I had paid the full £220 for it. Its a good lens but when you consider it only adds 1.5 to the lens power £220 is a lot to pay. Having said that the extra zoom does make a difference, giving 6x as opposed to 4x, which is a useful addition.
There are a couple of drawbacks with this lens which are not advertised in the publicity for this it, which is understandable I suppose, but it is a bit of a surprise if you are not fully informed before you buy the lens. The lens...

A likeable but not a loveable budget phone
Review of Motorola W220 by
deputydawg
Advantages: Quality head and shoulders above the (budget) field
Disadvantages: Too many irritating compromises
...The eyecatching W220 starts with the slick Razr, makes it a bit smaller and value engineers it down to a budget price, but retaining the high quality robust feel of so many budget flip-type phones.
The first impression is the clean mirror-finish black front panel, within a silver, pink or black surround. Normally it's plain black, but three indicators for call, text or low battery illuminate appropriately so that one glance tells you about anything you need to know.
Also visible on the sides are the power and headphone sockets, and a plastic strip rocker volume switch. The back is smooth and pleasing. Overall a good impression.
Flip it open (the motion is reassuringly solid feeling) and the keys glow a gentle blue in the flat but textured keypad style familiar from Razr and L6/L7.
The bright colour display takes up about...

Hello Moto......very Original I Know
Review of Motorola W220 by
Surveyaholic
Advantages: Cheap, Nice and easy, its PINK!!, Not only pink, Black too, Built in radio
Disadvantages: Not many functions, although does what it says on the tin
...After my Motorola V500 decide to break down on me last year, I was in desperate need to get a new phone, especially as the kids are at school now and I need to be able to be contacted at all times.
Thing is it decided to break down when I was very low on funds lol (funny that, how appropriate) so Obviously I was on a budget and was limited to what I was able to get.
Time for our trusted friend the Argos book :o)
I flicked through to the Phone pages and found a few that i liked, (well they may not have been my first choices but were within budget) so we hoped in the car and went straight over.
After umming and ahhing over various makes and models (actually quite indecisive, if offered too much choice) I opted for this one, well the Motorola W220.
Well how could i not it was PINK!!! :o) And only £40.00 so that was really quite...

Sony Ericsson W800i mobile phone
Review of Sony Ericsson W800i Walkman by
Maniac1701d
Advantages: Small, easy to use, light
Disadvantages: Battery can seem short after using other SE phones
...a facility where you can record audio - leave yourself messages to listen to later, record other people or just record your own ringtones.
The screen has a nice sized display with dimensions of W 28mm x H36mm
The screen resolution is 176x220 pixels which is good quality.
Colour depth is stated as: 18 bits (262,144 colours)
As the one before it - K750 - this phone has a 2megapixel camera which is very good quality and includes a number of features such as zoom (4x digital), macro, flash, indoor/outdoor and so on.
As well as taking still pictures this phone will also take video.
Now this phone is billed as a Walkman phone so the features for that are as follows.
Supported formats: MP3, AAC, MIDI, WAV, Realtones - it also picks up and plays radio stations on FM
Headphones come with the phone.
The phone obviously has SMS...
