Anyway it's at this point I decided to get some decent speakers to match my amp and cd player. After reading many good reviews of both B&W and Kef I decided to audtion some. I looked into the Kef Q1s and the B&W 602 S3. After much listening I decided the B&W's suited the music I listened to better. # About # The 602 is the largest of the 3 standmounts in the 600 range. Coming in at 21kg for both speakers in one large box these probably aren't the best speakers to try and take home by foot as I found out. Advantages: Fantastic sound, placement of voices and instruments

...602/S3, which just had that bit more base compared to their smaller brothers, and were still in my budget (I paid £300 for the pair). These speakers have a 25 mm metal dome tweeter and a 180mm kevlar mid/bass driver, and are rated at 25-120 Watts. For more technical specifications, see the link below. I also bought a Pioneer DVD/SACD player and complemented the system with an older Pioneer amp that I still had, with the intention to upgrade as soon as my financial situation had recovered... The B&W speakers were supplied in a large box, well protected, with manuals and two foam plugs (see later). I chose the light wood variety, but black is also an option. ...I have just bought the Toshiba 28W33B 28in widescreen television and am so amazed at how brillant it is, We didn't pay a fortune for it either, (£279) which makes the very high standard of it even harder to believe. The manual is quite easy to understand bit to much explanation on some things but overall was easy for me to understand Fantastic picture quality one of the best i have seen in a while, shows programs and films in perfect quality, When first switched on you may have to adjust the brightness and colour settings to your own comfortable viewing standard. Menu selections (colour, screen adjustments etc) that come up on the television screen using the remote are easy to understand. Just remember to click on store after altering things! ...good quality sound. They are the lowestest in there series, the DM600's series 2. With the DM602 just above at an extra £100.00 on top, delivers just that extra kick that makes it louder and slightley clearer(which is only just possible.) Then there is the floorstanding range, the 603,604 and 605 which just get louder and bigger. But i think that it is a better buy, because it is cheap so it is more cost effective unless you need it very loud. Although the 601 can beat most speakers. They are encased in an oak wood black design or teak. With a plastic grill, that is covered in a high quality material cover with a metal logo at the top, B&W. Making the finish very posh and adding class to your System. After having them a year now, and still not having a single problem i can also say they are very robust and higly reliable. Its... ...Here's the story. I have an existing wireless network. The access point is in the office in the loft. I have a laptop I wander around with (as you do) and there is a PC on the ground floor. On a good day with a strong wind, the downstairs PC gets a weak to medium connection. All too often though it is intermittent or fails completely. Web browsing is quirky and the whole experience is less than satisfactory. The bottom line is that despite being well within the theoretical range for wireless devices, there are just too many walls, floors and sundry other obstacles getting in the way. There are several things you can do do improve the signal but most are more suited to open spaces. One option that would help in this situation is to use a pair of access points in repeater mode. With travelling to Dubai a lot, there is so much to take photos of, such as for example when I went to Oman (Which is an absoloutley gorgeous country), and the beautiful sunsets on the beach by the burj al arab. So I thought, well, with a good, professional (moving on from throw-aways) camera, I can start taking some decent photographs for when I come back home. Advantages: Packed full of features, super macro mode is the best in its class!
Disadvantages: so many features its quite difficult to use at first, you can now buy the s7000!

...this is a superb camera with excellent picture quality. I mostly do macro shots - this camera will focus on an object 1cm away - which cannot be beaten at this price (infact i suspect it puts most low end SLR's to shame!) The only issue with this camera is the steep learning curve and the fact you can get the new fujifilm s5000 and s7000 which use a 4th gen ccd! Advantages: Absolutely superb midrange frequencies and very smooth treble. Neutral and yet very atmospheric. Beats many speakers at twice its price.
Disadvantages: Slight problems with three-dimensional reproduction and upper bass overemphasis. Power-hungry and thus critical with some amplifiers.

Advantages: Small, heats the fulll room, bargain price
Disadvantages: takes a whle to heat up

...B&Q Oil Filled Radiator Bought one of these around 6months ago our heating wasn't going to be working for a couple of weeks so bought this for the bedroom. Went to B&Q as knew they had quite a selection didn't want a huge one as we don't really have much room in the bedroom. We bought it as a replacement for the halogen that we had been using which the dogs kept walking past and singing their tails in. It takes quite a while to heat up even when it is on full power but once it is warm it is more than enough to warm our bedroom up. It has various settings of heat so once the room is warm you can turn it down which is a really useful feature, the dial for doing this how ever does not have numbers on it and I do think it would benefit it if it did so you could turn it down a set amount and know which setting you usually use...
