...Bacardi Breezers have a lot to answer for. Since Bacardi Breezers were first introduced every single spirit and liqueur has jumped on the bandwagon. Some of them have been great whilst some have not worked so well. Baileys is the latest to jump on the bandwagon with Bailey’s Glide. When I saw it in Asda last week I just had to try it to see what it was like. What is Bailey’s Glide? Bailey’s Glide is a lighter longer version of Bailey’s Irish Cream. It is apparently mixed with vanilla flavouring and come in 200ml bottles and is approximately £1.29. It is widely available from off licenses and supermarkets. The Purchase decision. ...After my first food op... thought I better try a drinks op! My wife came back from work on Friday night, with a surprise load of 'feel good shopping'. Nice food, nibbles, and alcohol! What a Friday night! It was going so well. Then she showed me the four pack of 'Baileys Glide'. Wow! They look good. As we both love Baileys - even my mum always buys me a bottle of Baileys every Christmas! We were in for a treat! Into the fridge with them for a quick chill, so they would be ready for the end of the night. This is when the first shock hit me... How much?!!!! But this was only one of many... LOOKS: The bottle is made of clear glass, wrapped in a tight plastic coating. (You can recycle it! Personally I would fill it with pure Baileys!) The lid is a metal screw cap coloured dark brown. I recently tried this as a Baileys lover but was dually disappointed when I tasted it. * PACKAGING AND APPEARANCE * Baileys glide is in a tall bage glass Baileys bottle saying Baileys glide at the front of the bottle. It is very easy to pick out in all your local supermarkets in the liqueur section. It is 200ml capacity and only 4% volume. * TASTE AND TEXTURE * Baileys glide is a combination of Baileys irish cream and vanilla to create a long drink as advertised. However the taste of this new product is a great disappointment, I have found that it only has a very faint, diluted taste of Baileys and vanilla even though it has a creamy texture - you may as well dilute Baileys rather than buy this. Advantages: It's Bill Bailey and there are some classic tracks such as Insect Nation

...I've been a fan of Bill Bailey since watching the comedy Black Books (if you haven't seen it you are seriously missing out - you might like to check out my review of season 1 at http://dvd.ciao.co.uk/BlackBooksSeries1DVDReview5616196) and love his DVDs (they often come out when we're drunk and have friends over) as they are absolutely hilarious. I would love to see Bill Bailey live, but haven't got round to it. Anyway I was perusing my extensive Amazon wishlist one day, and found that his "Ultimate Collection Ever" was reasonably priced on Amazon Marketplace and since it had been lurking on my list for 2 years I felt it was time to make my purchase. ...BAILEYS IRISH CREAM is not normally a drink I would drink, but you know how it is at Crimbo, you rummage around in your stockings and have a feel at the goodies (or is that just me?). And lo and behold, there's always a bottle of something-or-other from someone-or-other cunningly wrapped in a long, slim gift-bag that possibly cost more than the contents. Being thought of as a bit of a 'jakey' - quite erroneously, as it happens - I am usually inundated with all sorts of alcoholic treats. (It's a sair fecht!) I have a theory that certain bottles of liqueurs and wines never actually get drunk, but are passed from person to person as unwanted gifts. Think about it. If you've celebrated a 21st or 40th birthday or perhaps a Silver Wedding anniversary, how many bottles of Champagne did you receive? How many did you drink? These bottles... Read review
