...fine, on the small size! I would definitely go back to the hotel, and happily recomend it. getting there - we got cheap flights from Bournemouth with Ryanair (£26.50, + 18 ish euros for a return ticket on Barcelona Bus from Girona airport right into the city to the bus station - and back). Barcelona is one of my favourite cities - so full of life & variety yet i think it caters for all tastes - its got the beach, the Olympic stadium, Art & Gaudi & Dali, tango, tapas & tons more. My favs: palau de la musica - stunning, Bar Pastis - tango nights tues & thurs, Casa Mila (La Pedrera) - gaudi's chimneys so magical if you get as dusk is just coming (check opening times!). Just writing this, I know now, I will be going back & staying again at Lloret - Barcelona is my fix & i want more. Hope you enjoy it too.... Read review

Advantages: Hust off the Avda Diagonal
Disadvantages: pricey car parking !

...I stayed at the Hilton Hotel in Barcelona last year for a long weekend and enjoyed it so much that we have booked up for another week in July this year. The hotel has around 280 rooms and is situated in the business, commercial and shopping district of the city and is only 15-20 minutes from Barcelona International Airport. It is on the Avda Diagonal it is close to all the transportation into the city centre. Take care if you have a hire car as it is £12 per day for hotel parking and you are not told about this when booking in. The restaurants are very good and the bar in the central atrium is a good meeting place with great cocktails at moderate prices. Disadvantages: bit out of the way, surrounding areas could be dodgy

..., and there seem to be three ways of communting about, 1 the bus which stops outside the shopping centre, 2 the metro, which is located underground, with various entrances in front of the shopping centre, and the tram, which takes you down towards the zoo on the outskirts of barcelona centre, we also found that the area around the hotel is actually ok late at night,its busy with people and if you keep to the main roads, fine. the food is expensive in the hotel,the staff are ok, but very average, not very eager to help, and the rooftop pool only open certain times of the day, the room is very classy, plasma tv with about 4 english channels, funky bathroom with bath and shower, but the windows are quite high and dont open very much, so air can be an issue if the air con isnt too cool (centrally controlled) there isnt much of a bar, or much to do around... ...Me and my friend stopped in this hotel when we visited Barcelona for a few days before catching a train to Valencia and I must say it was probably one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in!! We booked the hotel after seeing it on the expedia website, and was impressed by its description on location and the look of the rooms. Price wise it was very cheap, we got it for approx £48 per night and stayed there two nights in total. On arriving in Barcelona after catching an easyjet plane from Newcastle we jumped on a train into the centre of Barcelona then hopped on the underground to this hotel. When we arrived I was very impressed by the entrance to the hotel, the look of it inside and the style it looks very posh and expensive. ...We booked a hotel in Barcelona through this site and were very happy. The site has an excellent search engine including late bookings and will show the price in your own currency (to save you having to convert from Euros / Dollars etc) of the room for the number of nights you are staying. The website is easy to use and I like the fact that you can look at photos of the hotel (often including the bedrooms) and there is a good description of the hotel and its proximity to the local amenities. You can search for last minute bookings as most hotels will show whether they have availability on the dates requested so that you don't have to send off an enquiry form and wait anxiously for a response. We had no problems with the payment and simply had to show a printout of our booking confirmation (though we didn't really need this as they had... Read review

Accomodation wise, Barcelona has a very large number of places to choose from ranging from 1 to 5 star hotels, bed and breakfast and youth hostels. Being a very large City there are literally hundreds of spare beds every night therefore it isn't neccesary to pre-book accomodation although personally I don't like to leave things as important as that until I get there, as well as the time this method consumes. The price of hotels vary in price, with the costlier hotels being located in the old town where most of the sights are. ...As a birthday present last year, Angel and the guys took me on my first ever holiday, to Barcelona. We only spent a week there, but it was the best week of my life, so I thought I’d do a review on it and share the experience with the rest of the Ciao community. I’ve got a feeling this could be quite a long one, so I’ll split it into sections to make it easier both for me to write, and for you to read. My opinion of Barcelona in general As this was my first holiday, I have nothing really to compare it to, but I cannot imagine any other destination even coming close to the standard set by this magnificent city. The atmosphere, set by an interesting mix of vibrant culture, living history, and the hustle and bustle of the city, is truly amazing. Advantages: 15min to airport, close to Barcelona's Business Centre & Football Stadium!
Disadvantages: Outdoor pool is closed during the winter season.

...I had to stay in this hotel on my second visit to Barcelona as NH Calderon was fully booked. This hotel is located only 15min away from Barcelona's airport with an easy access to the various principal connections which is quite convenient. Metro Station Les Corts on Line 3 which is in Green Colour is only 5min walk from NH Rallye and hughe shopping centre El Court Engles is just one metro stop away at Maria Christina Metro Station located in Barcelona's business centre! Metro costs Euro 1.00 for a single destination so I guess its cheap in comparison with London's Tube Fares. It is also not far from Plaza Catalunya and La Rambla. It took us about 14min from Les Courts metro station to Catalunya and Liceu! NH Rallye is also very close to the Stadium where football fans can spend most of their time! :) In terms of the building... Read review

Advantages: Good standard of accommodation, reasonably priced

...away from the centre of Barcelona. It actual fact it is about 15 to 20 mins away by car (it usually cost a minimum of £10 in a taxi each way). It is located next to a motorway flyover in a relatively industrial area. The hotel most certainly doesn't have any views! It has no amenities close at hand as there are no bars/restaurants within walking distance. Also, there is limited public transport to take you into Barcelona. The hotel staff were not aware of any buses but you can take the underground/metro. The nearest station is 15mins walk from the hotel and then the journey is aprox. 20 mins. After visiting Barcelona and in particular going to areas such as las ramblas if I were to go back I would definitely stay in a hotel in this area as there so much more to do and a better atmosphere.
