Vincci Condal Mar, Barcelona
Review of Vincci Condal Mar, Barcelona by
steciao
Advantages: clean, modern, cheap, classy
Disadvantages: bit out of the way, surrounding areas could be dodgy
..., and there seem to be three ways of communting about, 1 the bus which stops outside the shopping centre, 2 the metro, which is located underground, with various entrances in front of the shopping centre, and the tram, which takes you down towards the zoo on the outskirts of barcelona centre, we also found that the area around the hotel is actually ok late at night, its busy with people and if you keep to the main roads, fine. the food is expensive in the hotel, the staff are ok, but very average, not very eager to help, and the rooftop pool only open certain times of the day, the room is very classy, plasma tv with about 4 english channels, funky bathroom with bath and shower, but the windows are quite high and dont open very much, so air can be an issue if the air con isnt too cool (centrally controlled) there isnt much of a bar, or much to do around...

Magic Majestic?
Review of Hotel Majestic Barcelona, Barcelona by
Yelena
Advantages: location
Disadvantages: could offer more for that money
...My husband and I have just come back from Barcelona, where we spent 4 nights in the five-star hotel Majestic. We booked online about 2 weeks in advance and used their 3 nights for the price of 2 offer. We checked in without any problem and were shown to our room.
The room itself was fine, not too small, not too stuffy. It wasn't overlooking anything spectacular, the window faced a car park, which, I suppose, was better than being woken up by the traffic of one of the most famous and busiest streets in Barcelona.
There was nothing in the room, however, which would make it stand out from others. A double bed, a desk, 2 bedside tables, a wardrobe, a coffee table but no coffee or tea making facilities. A bulb in one of the bedside lamps was faulty and I asked the house-keeping to replace it. 4 nights wasn't long enough for them to fix it...

B-A-R-C-E-L-O-N-A !!!!
Review of Barcelona in general by
newty1977
Advantages: Multicultural, pleasant and warm
Disadvantages: None
...-15 minutes in a taxi, without traffic / Cost = Approximately €20
Located approximately 5 minutes walk from the Rey Juan Carlos along the Avenue Diagonal, this is the tallest hotel in Barcelona, with 19 floors and panoramic views across the city from the meeting room on the top floor.
The closest hotel to the Nou Camp, which is located right behind the hotel. The hotel is classic and traditional in style, and in my opinion looking a little tired and in need of a refurbishment.
* The Hilton Barcelona ~ 4 Star
DISTANCE FROM AIRPORT ~ 15-20 minutes in a taxi, without traffic / Cost = Approximately €20-€25
As you continue north along the Avenue Diagonal from the Princess Sofia Hotel, the Hilton appears on the right hand side. A modern hotel, providing guests with all business and leisure amenities.
* Melia Barcleona ~ 4 Star
DISTANCE FROM...

FREDDIE MERCURY KNEW WHAT HE WAS SINGING ABOUT
Review of Barcelona (Spain) by
purdy
Advantages: Amazing wonderful city
Disadvantages: Cant think of one!
...Back in February/March 2003, myself and my other half jetted off to Barcelona for a 4-night stay. To be honest it was his Christmas pressy from me – though it was a city l have always wanted to visit!! I was not disappointed.
Booking
Booking was easy – the flights were through Easy Jet from Belfast to Luton and Luton to Barcelona. I’m sorry lm not putting cost in but if Paul reads this he knows how much l spent on his present!! I booked through the web and it couldn’t have been simpler. I know Easy Jet fly to Barcelona from other UK cities such as Newcastle so its best to search and see what bests suits you.
I found our hotel on Time Out web site – although this is only one of a plethora of sites offering to sort you out with accommodation in various European Cities. We stayed at a Buenos Hotel (Good Hotel) supposed to be 3-4...

Sant Angelo
Review of NH Sant Angelo, Barcelona by
BACK_IN_BLACK_DEVIL
Advantages: great , City near
Disadvantages: ----
...(respectedly) just four times four meters. We experience one of the characteristics, the hotels in Barcelona for probably especially simple-minded guests hold ready. Who books no "habitaciòn exterior" (outside room), that probably lands automatically in "habitación interior", just to an inside room in the light well. It met our traveling with friends equally!
Still it is of course are sufficient decorated, including televisions and minibar. Besides, the double bed is probably suitable rather for a narrow Spanish married couple.
The bathroom itself is normally big, as well as one can expect it from a star hotel 4. From the magnifying mirror up to the blow-drying, toilet, bidet and shower-bath everything exists. The everyday towel change claps freely from problems, Kleenex, spare toothbrush and shower utensils are filled in according to demand...

One Night Stay September 2006
Review of Hotel Barcelona, Exeter by
Miffy2003
Advantages: Fabulous funky decor and ambience
Disadvantages: Car parking can be tricky
....
The cocktail bar (Kino) is quite small, and is on the lower ground level. It has a cosy and intimate feel to it, but I dislike it when it is very busy as there are not many places to sit and it can feel a bit claustrophobic (no windows). The cocktails which are very inventive and I suspect chosen for being "different to the norm" are about £6 each.
One downside to the Barcelona is the lack of car parking spaces. It can be challenging to find one and due to this people tend to park in silly places which can make griving round to the back a little tricky.
If you are looking for a "typical" nice 4 star hotel such as a Hilton then this may not be the place for you. It is very quirky, but I loved it....

Catapult Yourself To Catalunya
Review of Barcelona (Spain) by
WormThatTurned
Advantages: Cheap, Atmospheric, Lively
Disadvantages: Nothing worth mentioning
...time in traffic jams or travelling around getting lost.
Accomodation wise, Barcelona has a very large number of places to choose from ranging from 1 to 5 star hotels, bed and breakfast and youth hostels. Being a very large City there are literally hundreds of spare beds every night therefore it isn't neccesary to pre-book accomodation although personally I don't like to leave things as important as that until I get there, as well as the time this method consumes. The price of hotels vary in price, with the costlier hotels being located in the old town where most of the sights are. The further you move away from the centre, the cheaper rooms you will find, it depends on what budget you are on I suppose.

Nice hotel but dont take your kids to that area
Review of Apartments Grutenberg, Barcelona by
SamanthaM
Advantages: Good localtion for attractions and evening entertainment
Disadvantages: Feelt like an unsafe area and a lot of ladies of the night around
...This hotel is situated just off Barcelona’s main road from the port to ‘new’ Barcelona called Le Ramblas. The hotel takes up the end of a street but its front doors are down a side alley, which doesn’t look to good. The entrance to the hotel is nicely decorated and roomy. The rooms are plain, clean and quite roomy. I was in a room for 4 people but there was always enough room. The bathroom was clean and large enough. The hot water was constant and clean. The mini kitchenette is just that, mini! I would not recommend cooking for a family of four as if is a two ring stove with no oven. There is a large fridge, which is handy for keeping light snacks and local food in.
There are local super markets, local fresh markets, banks, exchange places, restaurants, bars and clubs only a five minute walk away. It is across...

Central and Ideally Placed, Hotel Roma Reial
Review of Roma Reial Hotel, Barcelona by
Andy.mack
Advantages: Perfect location, excellent Hotel if you just want somewhere to sleep
Disadvantages: A little hard to find, nothing really major though, Breakfast could have been more substantial
...Having decided over Christmas that I fancied a trip to Barcelona again I got onto the Ryanair website and started booking up. Having been to Barcelona a few years ago and staying well outside the main centre I decided that this time I wanted something quite central but also at a budget price. After all there was no way I could have afforded one of the posh 5 star hotels. So with those thoughts in mind I trawled all sorts of internet sites and ended up back on the hotel section of the Ryanair site. I had a couple of choices around the Station and dotted over the city but decided that Roma Reial fitted the bill better than any of the others.
It's located just off Las Ramblas, the main street in Barcelona where a lot of the cities drinking establishments are located. The Roma Reial is located in the Placa Reial about 200 meters from...

A city of dreams
Review of Barcelona (Spain) by
tia_bailey
Advantages: Beautiful city, loads to do
Disadvantages: None
...As a birthday present last year, Angel and the guys took me on my first ever holiday, to Barcelona. We only spent a week there, but it was the best week of my life, so I thought I’d do a review on it and share the experience with the rest of the Ciao community. I’ve got a feeling this could be quite a long one, so I’ll split it into sections to make it easier both for me to write, and for you to read.
My opinion of Barcelona in general
As this was my first holiday, I have nothing really to compare it to, but I cannot imagine any other destination even coming close to the standard set by this magnificent city. The atmosphere, set by an interesting mix of vibrant culture, living history, and the hustle and bustle of the city, is truly amazing.
There’s definitely a lot more to Barcelona than sun, sea and sand...
