This amp covers all basses!
Review of Laney Hardcore MAX HCM15B Bass Practice Amplifier by
MatthewForshaw
Advantages: Wide Tonal Range, Quality Construction, Price
Disadvantages: No Reverb
...Features
------------
The Laney Hardcore MAX HCM15B contains a wide range of features which makes it an excellent combo practice amp or an amp for a small performance. The amp features a 15watt custom 8” driver which is more than adequate for its application and can get to amazing volumes with no distortion, onboard headphone controller and compressor. The amp also features a CD/Line input jack and Bass/ Swept Middle/Treble/Master knobs. The only feature I would have like to see featured in this amp is Reverb although this is available with many other models.
Expandability
-------------------
The Laney Hardcore MAX HCM15B Bass Practice Amplifier is very expandable as it enables the connection of an additional bass cab utilising the existing inputs although for the price of the additional cab you would probably be best...

The Double Bass. A very very big instrument!
Review of Double Bass by
perfectlypolished
Advantages: Great fun
Disadvantages: Very large to store and transport
...maple. Some bass’s are now made of a composite material and these are popular with music schools or for touring as they are more resistant to changes in humidity or heat. The back of the instrument can vary from being a round back similar to that of the violin, or a flat and angled back similar to the viol family (with variations in between). All these variants in effect means one double bass can look and sound very different to another. This also partially explains the huge range of prices.
The hollow body amplifies the tone of the plucked or bowed strings. This body is called the soundbox. Inside the soundbox is found a sound post which is a thin stick of wood underneath and slightly to the right of the bridge, connecting the front to the back of the bass. Also in the soundbox is a bass bar which is a strip of wood glued underneath...

Really is alive and amplified!
Review of Alive And Amplified - Mooney Suzuki (The) by
priesty8899
Advantages: Great sound, no real duff tracks - really consistant
Disadvantages: Accused of selling out (I disagree)
...The band:
Sammy James Junior - lead vocals, rhythm guitar + percussion
Graham Tyler - Lead guitar, vocals, percussion
Augie Wilson - Drums, vocals, percussion
Michael Miles - Bass guitar, percussion, vocals.
Also on the album:
Mike Finnegan - Clavinet on 'New York Girls' and Hammond organ on 'Sometimes Somethin' and 'Naked Lady'
Lynn Davis - vocals on 'Alive and Amplified', 'loose n juicy' and 'Naked Lady'
The Matrix - Additional vocals on 'Alive and Amplified'
Victor Indrizzo - additional percussion
This album is absolubtly fantastic! It is one of the most well written albums and doesnt have one single bad track. The Mooney Suzuki are quite unknown but are one of the best sounding rock bands around.
The tracks:
Primitive Condition
Alive & Amplified
Legal High
New York Girls
Shake That Bush Again
Sometimes...

KORG GA-30 Guitar/Bass - Tuner, good buy.
Review of Korg GA-30 Guitar/Bass tuner by
Hawiz
Advantages: Very easy to use, very accurate.
Disadvantages: Quite small, loud noises can interfere with tuning with built in mic.
...This is a must for any musician on the move, or simply someone who needs to tune guitars often. The whole thing is incredibly easy to use, with three clear lights that light up according to the note.
To use it, you can either use the built in microphone, and it will pick up the sounds very easily, but can be troublesome if there is too much background noise, things like a tv, even other guitars playing in the background can be fine, but there are times when it becomes difficult. The other way is to simply use your musical cable (same type you use for an amplifier) and plug it into the jack socket in the side of the tuner. It will then pick up anything you play.
The small dial alternates between the right and left sides, making it very clear how far you are from hitting the right note. The red lights will turn off and the middle...
