Gentle Ben
Review of Ben Sherman by
stuleg
Advantages: Ben, the two of us need look no more..........
Disadvantages: .......We both found what we were looking for
...Now I’m a big fan of Ben Sherman, I wear his shirts and T-shirts, I occasionally slip into his pants, and I always strap a watch of his onto my wrist and can be seen adorned with his sunglasses in the summer months. So when I heard tale that he had lent his good name to a range of deodorants and body sprays I was excited beyond compare. Now I could smell like my hero as well as wearing all of his quality clothing and accessories.
Hot foot, I race to my local Tesco store in search of the latest addition to the body care range and a quick scan of the deodorant and body spray aisle soon had me united with the product in question. And to be fair, you’d be hard pushed not to notice Ben Sherman body spray as it comes resplendent in a lime green canister. Both the body spray and deodorant come in three scents, all given cheeky little names...

Who Gives A Shirt?
Review of Ben Sherman by
helpa4eva
Advantages: Dry, smells nice, funky bottle!
Disadvantages: N/A
...Xxxx-----------------THE ORIGINAL------------------xxxX
Xxxx--------Ben Sherman Anti Perspirant--------xxxX
I::::I::::::::::::::::::::::::::Drop Dead Dry::::::::::::::::::::::::I:::::I
1: Buying
Welcome to my review. Normally, the deodrant that i would pick up every week or two from my local supermarket would be a good old bottle from the LYNX range. However, taking a slow stroll down the aisle on a VERY hot day, i noticed a bright green bottle on the top shelf. I reached to get it and read the front;
Ben Sherman Anti Persipirant - Drop Dead Dry - Who gives a shirt.
Which made me laugh to myself, so i rotated the tin around and read the text on the back. Instead of all scientific words and explanations, as used on LYNX tins one of the points mentioned on the tin was "Day long elimination of pooey odour", and "Dry as a dead...

For when the shirt hits the fan
Review of Ben Sherman Shower Gel by
Benniash
Advantages: Cleans well, less is needed than other brands
Disadvantages: Odourless, the awful colour of the packaging
...There are a few things that you can bet your bottom dollar on at Christmas; you’ll get at least one card from someone you don’t remember, you’ll see an expensive gift you bought at half the price just days after you’ve given it and you’ll receive some kind of gift box, usually containing shower gel or deodorant, from someone who clearly didn’t know what to get you but didn’t want to give you a bit extra and give you a voucher.
Well, as predictable as ever, all these happened again this year and it is the later I am writing this opinion on. I received a Ben Sherman gift box that contained a pair of socks and some Ben Sherman shower gel.
I’ve always worn Ben Sherman shirts for their excellent quality at slightly cheaper prices than some other well known brands, I’ve even owned a jacket and pair shoes by them, but I didn’t know they...

PURE BOTTLE OF SEX
Review of Ben Sherman by
GraingerN
Advantages: Gorgeous fragrance
Disadvantages: None
...Let me tell you about a sexy young man I met when I saw him winking at me from upon a shelf in my local shop.
He apparently goes by the name of ‘Ben Sherman’ but don’t tell my fiancé OK!
Stood proudly amongst a range of body sprays in my local Savers shop this is where our eyes met. He had black hair a cheeky winking expression on his face and was wearing a rather nasty purple shirt, but that I could forgive.
I asked him what he was doing way up there on the shelf but to no reply… perhaps he couldn’t hear me I thought. I asked again (as you do) being polite and as I received no reply again I decided that either this fellow was deaf, being rude or was a little on the simple side, as no matter what he continued to wink.
He didn’t seem to mind when I lowered him to my level, although his...

Ben & Jerry's Bohemian Raspberry
Review of Ben & Jerry's Bohemian Raspberry Ice Cream by
lilyellowfish
Advantages: Tasty, fair amout of chunks and swirls, 10p goes to charity, helping the environment
Disadvantages: Expensive, hard to get the lid when first opened, not the healthiest
...~~~~~~~~~~
Ben & Jerry's
~~~~~~~~~~
Ben & Jerry's ice cream was founded by Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield and has now been brought by Unilever. They met in school and several years later after many unsuccessful and unenjoyed jobs they both attended a $5.00 course in ice cream making and after investing $12,000 they then opened their first 'scoop shop' in a gas station in Burlington, Vermont in 1978. It didn't take long for them to become very popular. Ben had no sense of taste so he relied on what he called 'mouth feel', and big chunks of all sorts of ingredients, especially chocolate became their signature, and it is still is to this day. In 1979 they began selling pints of ice cream out of the side of a VW camper van, they continued to grow and improve throughout the years and have now stand as one of the favourite brands...
ben folds five the unique album
Review of Ben Folds Five - Ben Folds Five by
ryanb
Advantages: this album is like no other
Disadvantages: none
...Ben folds five are an american trio of bass drums and piano. The diversity of ben folds` piano combined with robert sledge`s distorted bass create a unique sound only recognizable as the sound of bf5.
This sel-titled album is their first and best. 12 tracks full of spirit and energy. Presented as though they were in your living room, this c.d. is programmed to perfection.
1)Jackson Canary - The opening track will get you hooked from the start with it`s catch bass riffs and vocals.Ben folds shows the strength of the bass on the piano and also the effect of mixing it with the treble. A perfect opening number.
2)Philosophy - A contrasting opening with an almost irrestible piano melody. This song is a classic showing what they are capable of. From sweet piano to a heavy handed ending as ben does his rendition of `rhapsody in blue...
Ben Hur ~ A Tale of the CHRIST ~ (and His Times)
Review of Ben Hur (Collector's Edition) by
jesi
Advantages: 4-disc Collector's Box Set includes fully-restored 1925 Silent Version with Carl Davis Score
Disadvantages: The Chariot Race, originally set at Antioch, was moved inconceivably to Jerusalem in 1959 version
...When you hear the name "Ben Hur" what comes to your mind? The famous Chariot Race in the arena against the Roman Messala? Think you of the galley slave rescuing Quintus Arrius after the sea battle with pirates? Or do you think about the setting ~ the babe born to be "King of the Jews" worshipped by magi (such as Balthazar, the Egyptian), brought up as a carpenter's son; then, as a rabbi, speaking peace and healing; then crucified with that same title "King of the Jews" nailed above His head?
Of course, the story is All that ~ and MORE. When (American Civil War General) Lew Wallace wrote his tale "BEN HUR ~ A Tale Of The Christ" in the late nineteenth century, he was trying to place Jesus, Son of Mary and (as it seemed) Joseph, the carpenter from Nazareth, into the historical context of Roman Occupied Judea. How...
The importance of Ben and Jerry
Review of Ben & Jerry's Homemade Ice Cream and Dessert Book - Ben Cohen & Jerry Greenfield by
MHam
Advantages: Great Recipes
Disadvantages: Very Rich
...Ben and Jerry’s ice cream. Always coming up as one of the favourites in the Ciao challenge ‘favourite ice cream’ question, and I have to admit to being rather partial to a tub myself from time to time. So as my answer to that particular challenge question is ‘the homemade variety’ I was quite pleased when browsing through the recipe section of the bookshop I came across a Ben and Jerry’s recipe book. Fantastic, so for the princely sum of £7.99 the shop let me take it home, and 12 months later I finally got around to trying out some of the recipes and to writing a review.
The book is a good size for browsing it’s a small to medium size paperback book, so none of the struggling to fit it on the shelf, or the kitchen work top when you’re trying to use it, and as you can see from the picture at the top, it’s very brightly covered...
When Ben Met Jerry
Review of Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Factory, Waterbury, Vermont by
silverstreak
Advantages: Cheap way to spend a few hours; delicious ice cream
Disadvantages: Forget the diet
...There are a lot of cows in Vermont. Indeed, rumour has it that the cows outnumber the people in the Green Mountain State, so when you consider that according to US Census figures, there were 623,050 humans living in Vermont in 2005, that makes for an enormous number of cows. Yet unemployment in the bovine community is practically non-existent. Whether it's gracing an oversized dinner-plate in one of Vermont's numerous steakhouses, or producing the milk used to make some of the state's finest cheeses and yoghurts, a cow is bound to find work of some kind. The lucky ones, the crème de la crème, as it were, get to work for the hundreds of family farms which provide the milk used to make Ben & Jerry's ice cream; they're lucky, because Ben & Jerry's insists that its farmers pledge not to treat their cows with rBGH, or recombinant Bovine...
ThankQ BenQ!
Review of BenQ CD-R 700 MB 48x by
bad_bob00
Advantages: Very cheap, very reliable, you probably wont run out for a long time!
Disadvantages: Can get damaged quite easily, no CD-cases to protect them
...Intro
Recordable and re-writable CD's are one of the most popular forms of storage nowadays for computers, and this is no doubt down to the inevitable gradual-distinction of floppy disks, and the slump in prices for CDs. Nobody seems to use floppy disks anymore, they are too unreliable and can hardly fit any data too (1.44 MB usually) and when you compare this to the 700MB or so that CD's can hold, you can see why these are more popular. CD's can last over a hundred years too (according to the BenQ website) - if they are kept in the perfect conditions.
Where I got them & price
I decided to purchase these BenQ CD-R's as I felt that 100disks which hold 700MB, for only £10, is a really good price. This works out at about 10p per CD, which isn't bad at all! It sounds ridiculous that you can pay a couple of quid for a few floppy...
