Disadvantages: Not the cheapest.

...Of all the airlines I have used, I really believe that British Airways beats the lot. Their punctuality is unbeatable, and as soon as you step onto the aircraft, you cannot fail to be impressed with the cabin staff who are always well turned out, very curteous, and most helpful. The standards of cleanliness in the cabins, the toilets, and the food storage areas is usually immaculate. The food served on board is of the very best airline standards, and the supply of beverages is excellent. On scheduled flights, seating is comfortable, and leg room is amongst the best. The cabin staff are always ther to provide any services or imformation you need. The only point of criticism I can raise relates to the diabolical tail decor; for Heavens sake lets fly the British flag, and be proud of it!!!... Read review

...THE BEGINNING.. ------------------- It was when I was sitting in Kennedy Airport in January 1996 a guy from Boston who was sitting beside me stranded in the Blizzard of 1996 that hit New York and that whole part of America.The guy asked me who I was flying with and I replied British Airways to which he said"You are lucky you will be the first out of here,they are the best airline in the world"and he was right we were the first out. BRITISH AIRWAYS..THE FLIGHT.. ------------------------------ We had won a trip to New York and went to London by a B.A shuttle from Belfast.The plane we boarded at London was a British Airways jumbo jet and we were seated at the top of the plane right up at the hump.Up in the hump there is only 16 -20 passengers and the seating was just first class,the air hostess was most helpful and the whole time... ...I have been fortunate enough to win many competitions and because of this I have been on many flights. Different airlines treat people in many different ways. The best so far is British Airways. I have flown both long haul and short distances with them and I have always flown with my wife and many times with my children.British Airways have always treated us all with respect and courteously. Nothing is too much trouble. Although aeroplane food is not the best way to eat, I have found that the food with B.A is quite reasonable, and, if you require more on a scheduled flight you get more. ...british-shopping.com has got to be one of the best, online uk shopping directories that I have had the pleasure to come across. The site contains multiple links to hundreds of uk shopping sites. As a regular online shopper myself, I find british-shopping is hard to beat. When you get to the home page you will find a whole host of catorgories to choose from for example:- Office, Automotive, Music & Film, Fashion, Party Supplies etc. Under each catogory you will then find a list of subcatogories for example. Toys & Games. Contains: Collectable Toys Educational Toys General Toy Stores PC & Console Games Wooden Toys All you have to do is find the catogory that you are interested in, ie Fashion and then click on one of the subcatogories, such as Sportswear. ...Chariots of Fire won many awards including 4 Oscars, most notably the Oscar for Best Film. A lot of people claim that the story is vastly inaccurate, and that it is only the award winning score by Vangelis that makes the film. The film does have a special attachment for me, as I went to St Andrews University, where the opening sequence was shot, and also because I admire Eric Liddell. The film is a great story, although for non-British audiences a lot of the appeal is lost. It has a lot of great lines which probably lose soemthing to a non British audience. I have watched this film many times and still can watch it again.... Read review

...We travelled British Airways from Heathrow to New York late last year. Our first surprise was that on check in we were told that we had been ipgraded to Business Class. Extra leg room, better food (fillet steak) and more video channels. This was great but I didn't really benefit from the extra leg room. It was even worse when the person in front reclined their seat. Still what right have I to complain with this unexpected bonus. Overall the cabin staff done a very good job with nothing too much trouble for them. The food was excellent and the drinks free. Though limited leg room (for me) it was a comfortable flight.... Read review

...This show, written by Caroline Aherne and Craig Cash is excellent, and it is great to find a british comedy about a british family on the screen for a change. It is funny with out trying too hard, as it is basically observing the life of one particular family. A lot of families in Britain will be able to relate to it - no one I am sure will admit that it is their own family, but will know someone it reminds them of! The acting of the entire cast is brilliant, with no single actor dominating. Ricky Tomlinson as the father is especially funny. Its good too the way it is in 30 minute slots - not too long to get bored with it, but short enough to leave you wanting more and to watch the next one.... Read review

...David Coulthard should be the F1 world champion this year. He has been more consistant that Mika and has been let down from his team. Ron Denis is biast towards Mika and puts all the teams attention in Mikas corner. If the McLaren team gave equal attention to both drivers, David would be 2 times world champion and heading towards his third. If David is given a fair chance he could be equal to or even better than the German, Michael. Ron is british and so is the McLaren team! WHY DO THEY NOT GET BEHIND OUR BRITISH DRIVER? ...I have come to the conclusion that Frank Williams must be a bit scared of British Drivers. Over the years he has managed to git rid of the best British drivers in the sport. The biggest example of this that I can think of is Nigel Mansell. Nigel, who was probabaly one of the most popular British drivers, was dispersed with. Well, I mean, he had just won the championship....in brillaint style....what more did Frank want? Next, Damon Hill. Ok so he was never the greatest driver in the world but he was still a world champion. Now here we are, and the team are just starting to come good again after a few quiet years. He has got two young and very talented drivers so what does he do??? Well he gets rid of the British one of course! ...The British at war, again. Actually in The Bridge Over The River Kwai the British are no longer at war as such although the prisoners try to carry out their war to the best of their abilities. This is a true if dramatised tale of the deadly and infamous Burma railway and in particular one portion of it at the River Kwai. Having captured thousands of Allied forces in Burma and neighbouring countries, the Japanese force the prisoners to build a railway through the hot, steamy and disease ridden jungle without the aid of the Geneva Convention. That is the reality. The film strays a little from the truth. The British stiff upper lip is provided by the master in portraying this trait, Alec Guinness, as he and selected officers supervise the building of the bridge.
