Store Atmosphere ------------------------- I have shopped in about 10 different River Island stores across the country and the layout and design of each store is always similar. The general colour schemes are usually white walls and floors with black panelling and furniture, and bright white lights. All stores therefore have quite an open, fresh and airy look, which is simple but at the same time doesn't distract you from the clothes and therefore enables you to find what you are looking for more easily. ...with River Island is that it wasn't dark and dreary like some other stores which is the feeling I get when I look in the window of TopShop. There are a lot of light neon colors and lots of glitter - my personal favourite as I'm a real girlie girl! River Island doesn't just stop at clothes though they do bras, knickers, pj's, jewelry, belts and bags! I've always got my bags from River Island and they've never been one to stick with JUST the trend. Sure when the small bags were in they did sell a lot of them but they did sell bigger bags at the time do, vice versa now the big bag is in they still sell the small ones. I personally love there bags and bagged a right bargain in a sale of a beige bag covered in sequins for a FIVER! I love the belt range as it's girlie and glittery too - brilliant when you want the finishing touch to that going outfit... Read review

...those lethal teeth. The size of this guy was unbelievable, his front legs seemed so huge and powerful and you can see certainly see why humans don't stand a chance against these predators. Bruce got the boat very close to the bank and we got a spectacular view of the big boy as he enjoyed the warmth of the sun. After spending a most interesting hour out on the water our cruise came to an end. We had been shown crocs, a tree python, gorgeous tropical butterflies and birds of all shape, size and colour. The depth of knowledge Bruce had of the river made the trip all the more interesting, even supposedly mundane things such as mangroves were intriguing when you learn what they have to do to be able to survive in the hostile salt water. ...was the inclusion of the many "play areas" small areas on the slopes with a series of jumps of different styles, including a mini pipe and a full size international standard half pipe, big air and boardercross couse as Sunday River caters for freestyle skiing and boarding extremely well, hosting the US Snowboarding Cup a number of times. The quality and quantity of evening activities is huge, for school groups extra events are put on such as discos and gatherings, but available to anyone are the numourous bars, music venues and more exciting activities such as tubing (sitting in a tyre inner tube down a crafted run). Lastly two things you can be sure of in Sunday River are snow of a high quality and no queues, I've skied there in March and in April and the ski season goes on til May and sometimes June - the snow blowing and creation system is huge... ...Although this is one of my favourite shops, i have to admit im not as much of a fan as what i used to be in my teens! At school i was nicknamed miss river island, as everything i wore was from there. Recently though, i find the collection of clothing a little more limited to certain styles than what it used to be. River Island caters for those who like to follow fashion whilst keeping their own twist on it so you can stand out from the crowd. They also have a very stylish menswear collection available. SIZES As i am petite, i love the fact that river island cater for the smaller girl with their range of trousers and jeans, the sizes range from a size 6 to an 18, and the leg lengths on trousers come in short, regular or long. This is ideal for many, but i recommend trying trousers on anyway as sometimes the lengths and waist sizes... Read review

...in camouflage colours etc. Not me than you very much! I see you point, it’s everywhere but River Island has gone Over The Top yet again! If you are trying to get away from this look they have however other styles that might please the eye. Underwear and nightwear and their knitwear and jumpers are still cute and have some unusual V- necks and gypsy, like off the shoulder sort of necks. Their Jeans, Jackets and Coats are the latest designs copied nicely from the catwalks of the Armani and D&G lovers to give us poorer folks the chance to look jut like the rich folks. Haha Skirts are kind off a sore area for me too, remember big bottom girl, so I try to stay away. ...ORIGINALLY WRITTEN August 2001 On a Saturday afternoon a few years ago I tuned into MTV to see some music videos. Instead of videos being shown an episode of ‘The Living World’ was broadcast. This is a real life soap opera featuring a few 20 something’s from USA. Every aspect of their lives was recorded 24 hours per day and highlights shown weekly. An American-Chinese girl was the prettiest of the lot. I could not believe that viewers would be interested in the mundane lives of other people. Being Saturday afternoon I quickly switched over to the sport. But ‘The Living World’ proved to be a ratings hit and several subsequent series were made. This was the first reality TV series.
