The show centres around Merrion, as well, as Leigh Francis dressed up as various celebrities - using a rubber mask. The vareity of celebrities that Merrion dresses up as is large. Fore example, there is - Ricky Gervais,Christina Aguilera,Craig David,Michael Jackson,The Osbournes and Mel B. However, the show also features a talking bear, who lives in a treehouse, on hampstead Heath. This is simply Leigh Francis showing his face in a bear suit. Bo' Selecta is therefore, as clearly read, not your average comedy show - it features alot of "celebrity stalking" - from Avid Merrion, and the use of rubber masks. This Bo Selecta DVD staring Avid Merrion and his amazingly funny and dirty scenes of celebrities has the complete first series of this side splitting comedy. Helped along by his rubber faced friends such as the legendary Michael Jackson, Craig David, Mel B and many others he brings viewers into the world of his bedroom, not also does he just have hysterical clips but he has real appearances from celebrities such as, Davina McCall, Geri Halliwell and a few others. Not only is this DVD one of the funniest around but you a load of extra features including, Behind the scenes, deleted scenes, bloop selecta, Craig David’s life story, Trailers, Avid’s gallery and Commentary to go along with the episodes. Advantages: So funny.

...I bought this dvd in a double pack with bo selecta series 2 and I can definately recommend buying the both of them. This is british comedy at its best. From Michael Jackson to Marilyn Manson nobody escapes having the fun taken out of them. Ive noticed that with Bo Selecta you either love it or hate it. The only bad thing id have to say about this dvd is that some of the sketch's are just plain not funny. Such as Avid Merrion and his fantasys for celebrities. I think that the other sketches make up for this. Especially one with Claire Sweeney who is releasing an album for christmas with songs such as baa baa black sheep and we wish you a merry christmas. ...Bo Selecta returns for yet another series of the spoof celebrity interviews and celebrity stalking. It features a whole load of new celebrities covered in latex as per usual. In this series there’s new celebrities including Kat Slater Moon from EastEnders, Jordan (Katie Price), Justin Hawkins from the Darkness and even Mick Hucknall from Simply Red. It seems anyone could be next to take the wrath of Avid Merion’s latex masks these days. ...i firstly watched bo selecta series one and two when it was on channel four after just coming out, i somehow missed series three and so when saw the newest series 4 on tv i decided to buy all the series on dvd to catch up on. some of the sketches on the dvds are hilarious and some are just ok, but i definatly think the more you watch it the more you laugh at the not so good bits. the basic jist of bo selecta is that avid merion is a celebrity stalker, who goes out into the streets to shout random abuse as celebritys. doent sound funny? well add to that the aid of several rubber masks of such stars like craig david, britney spears, micheal jackson and david blane, and dont even forget a talking bear. seriously this will have you in stitches. the special features on the first disk are: behind the scenes, deleted scenes,bloop selecta... ...Oh Bo Selecta, probably the most prolific comedy series this year. It features lots of well known characters being impersonated such as Michael Jackson (check my bad self!), Craig David (can I get a rewind), Ozzy Osbourne ( f***,f***,f***), David Blaine, Mel B, Britney Spears and many more. Hosted late at night on channel 4, Bo Selecta was not in my list of priority TV. Even to date I still don't watch it on the box but the DVD was thrust in my direction and the interest of comedy (my favourite subject) I decided to watch it. Every episode contains a mixture of the following characters as well as impersonations of stars listed above. Avid: In my opinion, one of the most annoying people in the series. ...Well i can honestly say that this is without a doubt the funniest sketch show to have graced the uk! Basically it's a mix between a mockery of big celebrity's and another character called avid merrion who is a twisted foreigner whos favourite and only past time is to stalk celebrities, he loves any celebs and makes a point of letting them know that. There are many different characters all played by the same person ranging from michael jackson and craig david to david blaine and mel b. All the characters are a very bad likeness and sound absolutely like the real thing but this just adds to the humour for example, Michael Jackson the guy who in real life never swears in any way shape or form whereas in Bo Selecta he swears every other word and sounds like he's from the bronx. ...A mate got me in to Bo’Selecta, although I knew Avid Merrion from Big Brother where he was obsessing over Jade Goody. I wasn’t too impressed at first, it seemed too unnecessarily crude. However something obviously left me wanting more. Now, this was around the time when series 2 was showing, last year. We are now up to series 3. Firstly if you are easily offended then you should probably avoid this show at all costs. The basic idea is it is an off the wall late night comedy show centred around Avid and his celebrity (or ‘calabraty’) stalking obsession. He keeps Craig from big brother 1 locked it his cupboard and fantasies over kylie ‘min-og-you’ (minogue). Sounds pointless already doesn’t it? Now to be honest I don’t find Avid very funny, and I think the only reason I keep tuning in is the sketches. The sketches are mixed in the half... Read review

The second disk contains deleted scenes, some of which are really funny, extended scenes, bo sexier, avid’s gallery, boop Selecta trailers and a special behind the scenes featurette. This series seems to be packed full of lots and lots of great clips to watch and is fantastic value for money, the run time of disk one is 191 minutes and the run time of disk 2 is 111 minutes so you really do get a lot of viewing for your money. There will be a lot of people that will really hate this, but they’ll be a lot of people that will love it too, really you wont know unless you give it a watch and give it a fair chance....
