...I adore the aroma and taste of freshly ground coffee, it is something that cannot be matched by pre-ground beans and the end result of using the Bodum 5670 is a cup of coffee that little bit richer and fuller in flavour than any alternatives. It is like drinking Expresso from Starbucks or Café Nero without the huge expense regular visits incur. Prior to using the Bodum grinder I had a Gaggia grinder that tunred out to be the biggest waste of cash ever. That model cost £70 so when it struggled to grind even the smallest amount of beans in less than 10 minutes I wasn’t going to buy a replacement so expensive. I opted for the Bodum because it was £20 and I had seen a few good reviews of its performance. ...I stayed at the Ibis Stopera in Amsterdam in April 2006 with two friends and would definitely recommend it for anyone who it looking for a budget hotel that can be relied on. For anyone who hasn't stayed in an Ibis hotel before I would describe them as a superior travelodge. In other words, no matter which one you go to, you generally know what you're getting. Always clean and a good service. There was also a bar. For three girls on a budget the Ibis Stopera was perfect as they have triple rooms available, this made it a very reasonable rate when split between the three of us - and this included breakfast (which was very nice). We had a lovely ground floor room which looked out onto the canal at the back of the hotel. ...We booked the London Euston Ibis for a one night stay at the end of May. We had previously stayed at many Ibis hotels in several countries on mainland Europe and had always been delighted with our experiences. However, our first stay in a UK Ibis was a different experience altogether. The hotel itself and our room could not be faulted. However, where this hotel fails miserably is in its standards of service and its catering arrangements. Despite being told over the telephone that restaurant service was available until midnight, this was in fact 2230 which scuppered our eating plans for the Saturday night. There was a large wall mounted bar food menu that promised an adequate meal 24 hours a day. ...Bodum first started in Denmark in 1944 and it was not until 1958 until the first French Press came to be on the market. They have sold over 50 million of these products worldwide and they are now very well known in the uk mainly for their quality. I do not know how old my friend thinks I am but a selection of perfumes for Christmas Pressie is not my cup of coffee so back to Boots whence it came and I got a refund on a card. Talking of Coffee, my favourite drink, I was mooching around Boots thinking what could I spend this on and the sale had just started and I came upon this shelf that had Cafetieres on it. On the shelf, all the Cafetieres had been reduced and I thought brilliant, I will put extra money towards a Bodum Cafetiere as a Treat. ...12 times a year, I spend Monday to Thursday in the Alsacian city of Strasbourg, as my main place of work relocates in accordance with Treaty provisions agreed by all the governments of the European Union. Leaving aside the huge waste of resources this entails and the enormous carbon footprint of the whole exercise, it is a chore and a source of great strain for those of us who have to endure it. The hours are long, and since the people one is with in the evening are your work colleagues, you never feel off duty. Additionally, since for 12 weeks of the year the city has a massive influx of people, the availability of hotel rooms is severely tested, and I have tried various options over the years. ...Freshly ground coffee is a vice - pure and simple and I find that my tastes vary from week to week so rather than buying large packs of pre-ground coffee beans to use I buy small packs of fresh beans from different countries and grind them myself and this lead me to need a coffee grinder that was reliable - good looking and most of all quiet. Noise first thing in the morning is never an option. I bought a brand new white Bodum 5670 for £49.99 from eBay as it was £15 cheaper than buying direct from the manufacturer. The picture above shows the black model and essentially my grinder is identical apart from the colour. Size wise it is larger than most ordinary grinders - 28cm x 23cm x 20cm so it does take up some space but bear with me I'll explain why it is better than most other grinders on the market. 1 - It is very light at just over... I had, however, read a bad opinion of the London Euston branch, so when I found myself needing to stay in Euston the other night it was with slight trepidation that I booked the Ibis. I was hoping that my several excellent experiences of the Ibis chain would hold out against the one bad experience I'd read about. LOCATION The Ibis London Euston is in Cardington Street, literally at the side of Euston Station. Weary travelers can depart their train and be at their hotel in one minute. ...I have just arrived back from a short stay at this hotel in Geneva. The location is convenient, five mins from the airport and ten from city. But unfortunately that is about all I have to say in its favour. It is very basic, staff are unprofessional and rude, down to smoking in the reception area and consuming alcohol in the bar area, when supposed to be on duty. It does not make a good impression I am afraid. Food on the evening menu is overpriced and absolutely disgusting, to be frank. We dined very well in the old city area for similiar prices to what this hotel was charging. We took breakfast in the Nash airport hotel next door which was lovely as we would not even consider having breakfast in the Ibis, after a bad experience with the dinner menu. Advantages: Car park in a city where parking is a nightmare!
Disadvantages: Overpriced at graduation season. Small triple rooms.

...I, like many other people, stayed in the Ibis in portsmouth for my graduation. The prices of the hotel shoot up extortionately during graduation season pricing their rooms at around £90 per night. Considering that the rooms are quite small and bland this is quite a high price but as it is graduation season the hotel know that people will have to pay the price. You are told that you can park your car all day for a price of £3.50 that is if you can find a space in the very tiny car park. Excellent position in portsmouth situated next to the guildhall walk and only a few minutes walk from the guildhall itself which again is ideal for graduating students. I did not have time for food but then again paying £90 for a very average hotel it seemed that paying out more money for breakfast was just wrong. Decent enough hotel.... Read review
