Reviews of brighton kings hotel
Brighton breezy.
Review of Brighton in general by
scraggly
Advantages: Easy to get to, something for everyone
Disadvantages: None that I can think of
.... For starters there is The Queens Hotel, The Kings Hotel and The Brighton Hotel. If you are travelling with children make sure you ask for a family room where there should be enough space for them to put extra beds in for you.
If you are simply looking for cheap and cheerful then try one of the guest houses or b&bs. There are absolutely loads of them especially in Kemptown to the East of the Brighton Pier (formally the Palace Pier) in the centre of Brighton seafront. Check out Paskins Hotel, Penny Lanes Hotel and Regency Hotel.
Wherever you stay, the most important thing you must do when checking in (other than paying that is!) is ask for a tourist information map. It will show you where the attractions are that I mention and other ones besides.

What are you going to do...

Brighton Rock..s
Review of Brighton in general by
Isobel_Princess
Advantages: good atmosphere,
Disadvantages: none none!
...are looking for something more upmarket, then Havana (Duke street) is lovely. It has great food, but quite expensive.
Dont forget the fish and chips down on the seafront.
*~*Pubs - Everywhere!*~*
There are loads and loads of pubs to choose from in Brighton. In the laines, the best one is the kensington, which has live music, infact, a few have live music. King and Queen along the Old Stein is massive, and very good. There are irish themed pubs too, like O'Niels, they are good fun
*~*Clubs - Something for everyone*~*
Literally, something for everyone. The Event hostes a kids night (nicknamed nappy night) i think its on sunday, its for under 18s. If you're looking for something a bit more....well....grown up, then there is loads to choose from. The Event is near the seaside, and sometimes has themed nights. The zap, the honey club...

A truly Grand Hotel
Review of The De Vere Grand, Brighton by
RichPrice
Advantages: Almost Everything about the hotel
Disadvantages: The Cost
...The De Vere Grand hotel Brighton is an impressive hotel, part of the De Vere chain of over 25 luxury hotels. The De Vere website www.devere.co.uk has lots of information on the hotel and also some special offers. It is located on the Sea Front in close proximity to all of Brighton's major attractions.
The hotel has approximately 200 rooms, ranging from singles, to doubles to doubles with sea views to deluxe doubles with seaviews to suites. Prices range from £80 for a single B & B to £250 B &B for a sea view deluxe to £530 for a suite. I stayed in a Sea view deluxe, checking in on a Saturday and leaving after lunch on the following Sunday. I ate in the hotel for breakfast and Sunday lunch.
The Hotel looks Grand when you arrive. It is a really handsome building both internally and externally. Reception was impresive, as indeed were all...

Don't judge a hotel by it's exterior
Review of Hilton Brighton West Pier, Brighton by
robmarks
Advantages: Good service, good food, nice rooms, friendly, excellent location
Disadvantages: Ugly exterior
...I've stayed at the Hilton West Pier in Brighton for a week during the Unison conference 2003 and found the hotel offered a high standard.
The hotel is in an excellent location. Although a bit of walk from the railway station (20 mins) the hotel is just up the road from the Brighton Centre (conferences etc). It is situated on Brighton seafront just opposite the West Pier, as the name suggests. The main shopping area of Brighton is within five minutes walk and the main restaurant area is even closer.
At first appearance the hotel looks rather disappointing. If I'm honest, whoever designed this had rather odd taste. It's a huge grey concrete building with balconies scattered all over the front and side in particular order. This makes for a rather odd looking building. However, as you get closer the entrance is very inviting...

BRIGHTON ROCKS! MY HOMETOWN
Review of Brighton in general by
Mauri
Advantages: Lively, Entertaining, Good food, Good beer
Disadvantages: Can get busy
...reasonably priced compared to London, £5 will get you anywhere in the whole of Brighton and tips are not expected. Main taxi ranks can be found just outside the station or opposite Churchill square.
*THE SEAFRONT AND THE MARINA*
The seafront is dominated by a huge number of hotels that run along it. These hotels vary in standard from the 4/5 star Metropole and Grand to the more affordable smaller guesthouses. Brighton also has two piers, the Palace Pier still standing is a throwback to the old-fashioned seaside town where Mods and Rockers congregated on the beaches. On the pier you'll find plenty slot machine, arcade games, a fish and chip restaurant, snack bars and a fun fair at the very end.
The West Pier was derelict for many years and recently was set on fire. It now stands like the skeletal remains of a great beast from prehistoric times...

The Royal Albion Hotel, Brighton
Review of Royal Albion Hotel, Brighton by
beanie8844
Advantages: great location, cheap, nice rooms, excellent food
Disadvantages: no parking, quite dated
...Introduction to the hotel:
The Royal Albion Hotel was built in 1826 and is situated in a fantastic location opposite Brighton pier. It is a three star hotel and has 186 guest rooms offering views of Brighton beach or the town centre.
My experience of the hotel:
I spent one night in the hotel in January of this year and for a three star hotel I was quite impressed. I and my girlfriend booked a double room for £55 and it was a spacious room with a four poster bed, couch, satellite television, fridge, tea and coffee making facilities and a lovely modern bathroom with a Jacuzzi bath. When we checked in the hotel staff asked us if we would like to upgrade to a room with a Jacuzzi batch for £10, we said no, but were a bit intrigued to find one anyways - they had obviously given our room away and were trying to get the extra £10 out of us...

Kiss me quick and squeeze me slowly!
Review of Hilton Brighton Metropole, Brighton by
fairygirl12
Advantages: Very pleasant atmosphere on the seafront
Disadvantages: Bar area lacking any character
...Gone are the days that a holiday in a seaside resort was staying in a boring B&B with an strict landlady and having to share a bathroom down the hall usually with extremely dodgy plumbing!
Recently staying in Brighton all the memories of this type of accomodation were dispelled as we stayed in a lovely hotel. The Brighton Metropole has the charm of a great old fashioned hotel with high ceilings and a lovely exterior but with the facilities of the most modern hotel.
***The Location***
The hotel itself is on Kings Road in Brighton. Now for those of you that are not familiar with the street names or even Brighton itself it is right on the sea front and almost next to The Grand. We drove into Brighton on the main road from the A23 and followed the signs to the sea front. When you reach the sea front opposite the pier you take a right...

Family-fun, friendly and easy going
Review of Princes Marine Hotel, Brighton by
niko
Advantages: Right by the sea
Disadvantages: Not in the heart of Brighton
...The Princes Marine Hotel is a 4 star hotel situated on the coastal road from Brighton to Hove. It is a newly built hotel (only a few years old) and I had the fortune to be invited to dine there in the in-house restaurant a few years ago. The food was delicious and plentiful, following traditional English recipes. The service was excellent and the bar next door that we ajourned to afterwards stocks one of the largest selections of spirits I have seen in Brighton. As for the rooms, although I didn't stay there, I heard from others in the bar that they were very clean and comfortable. I did however take a sneeky look into a few rooms and in addition I found them very cosy with TVs and en suite bathrooms.
agreed....

It's a Grand Life at the Grand
Review of The Grand Hotel, Brighton by
gander
Advantages: Quality
Disadvantages: Expensive
...A few weeks ago I was sent on a course to Lewes. After an uneventful flight from Glasgow to Gatwick airport, I was picked up by taxi and taken directly to the Grand Hotel in Brighton.
Facilities in the hotel:- every room has en-suite, colour television with satellite, tea and coffee (& hot chocolate).
The rooms - the one I stayed in was fairly large, (roomy enough to be cruel to cats), in fact you could put three king size beds together in a row, and there would still have been room to walk about. There was also a large desk with a telephone on it, notepaper, pen and envelopes. A large wardrobe at the side of the room had a safe built into it. The television was hidden in a cupboard, and the tea etc was in another cupboard. There was also a fridge with drinks for sale in the room, however the drinks were expensive £1.50 for a can...

Thumbs up for Square Hotel, Brighton
Review of Square, Brighton by
girlgrey
Advantages: Fantastic sea views from King Room, chic room, friendly staff
Disadvantages: Blinds let in light, few mod cons
...I went to this hotel for a romantic getaway in February and it was exactly that, incredible romantic. We love our boutique hotels and Brighton has a great selection. The Square is definitely up amongst the best in my experience. It has 9 contemporary rooms and a sophisticated bar. You can even get a range of treatments such as massages in your room for ultimate luxury.
The hotel is well located in a Regency garden square on New Steine which is just a hop, skip and a jump away from the sea in Kemp Town. We arrived by car and as we are regulars to Brighton knew that the best place to park is at the Marina, where it’s free for the length of your stay and then catch a bus back to Kemp Town. However, the staff at the Square were great in reminding us that this is a good idea. The bus stop is on the main road and only a 2min walk from...
