...loads and loads of CDs, then Britannia just might be for you. They have a fantastic range on their website, and some bargains they offer really are great value. Previously, you were allowed to purchase one bonus priced CD for every regular one you bought. Now you are allowed to buy an unlimited number at bonus price whenever you take one at regular. If you are looking to seriously expand your collection then this might be a way to do it relatively inexpensively. One final good point about Britannia is that you get a free CD after you have bought your first 6 at full price, and then one free for every 3 you buy after that. It really depends on how much money you want to spend as to whether you will be suited to Britannia or not. I have noticed some disadvantages to buying through Britannia, other than high prices. ...Britannia Music is a mail order club for the purchasing of CD's. The initial attraction to join is a large saving. Offers vary slightly from time to time, but the usual format is multiple purchases for a greatly reduced price. Choose 6 CD's from a selection of around 150. For this first purchase you pay around £10 plus p&p. So, 6 CD's for less than £15, this is a great bargain. The range of music for your selection is normally quite reasonable, and includes some double albums. What you probably wont find though are the very latest releases, or the less commercial artists. When you take up this offer, your only commitment is to make further purchases of 6 regular priced items in 2 years, at least 3 of these must be made in the first year. ...As a member of Unison I got the offer of £500 cashback if I changed my mortgage to Britannia so I decided to take a look. I rang for a quote which was done quickly and painlessly over the phone by a very helpful & friendly guy. I already had a great deal with another small company & I wanted to keep the flexibility of being able to pay more in as & when I wanted. I was amazed that my great deal was actually £72 per month more than the Britannia quote & I got to keep all the flexibility I already had. Added to this they gave me better quotes on both my house & contents insurance and 12 months free domestic emergency cover, a saving of another £16 per month. ...a free one. You get a monthly catalogue, which has 50 pages of CD's which they sell. You also get what’s called a recommend recording. The only problem with this is that if you don’t cancel it you will receive it.... but this is not a problem as you just put your name, address and membership number on it and you can send it back via recorded delivery for a couple of pound. I cancel all my recommend recordings over the Internet and have not had one problem as of yet. I have found no problems with the customer service either, I have emailed them a few times and always received a reply within a couple of days. They also have a very good range of stock, you may get the occasional album, which they may not get in for a while but they have most artists you can think of... ...I was naïve enough to think I could join Britannia test the products out and if I did not like the service, terminate my membership. You see so many leaflets saying buy 5 CDs for £5 which is excellent. They have such a wide range of albums to chose from. So, I thought why not give it a go. I sent my details off and they sent me my five Cd’s. In the agreement it said that if I did not want to be a member of Britannia I was to send my Cd’s back within fourteen days. If I was to be honest I couldn’t afford to be a member, had a nice listen of the CD’s and sent them back. I did have to pay for the postage and packaging which cost about £4, but I didn’t mind. So, I thought that would be the end. But was it not it was only the beginning…… I received a bill even though I had sent them back... Read review

...industrial estate in Staveley, near Chesterfield, Derbyshire. The brewery is located in two adjacent industrial units in Staveley, near Chesterfield. The brewhouse is in one unit, and the other houses a fermenting room, a chilled conditioning area and a small bar. Spire brew a range of interesting beers and, in a short time, have already begun to win awards and be recognized for their quality and range. Some of the beers you will come across (especially if you join me for a pint at the Britannia) are Sgt. Pepper Stout (a wonderful full bodied stout made with ground pepper at 5.5% ABV), Land of Hop and Glory (a golden hoppy beer at 4.5% ABV) and Nocturne Porter (a smooth coffee flavoured porter at 5.7% ABV). ...I have been a member of Britannia Music club now for two years and have never found such a fantastic and easy way to shop for my music. I have read many reviews about Britannia on this site and most people don’t rate them all that well, most people feel they are too expensive. This part I partly agree on for your regular CD’s but now as an established customer I think of all the savings that I have made. Each month members receive a newsletter and a recommended recording; the recommended recording is chosen for you depending on the style of music you like. If you do not want the recommended recording there are three easy ways to cancel it: ~ 1 – Post back by deadline date indicated. 2 – Phone automated service and cancel before deadline date. 3 – Visit Britannia website and cancel before deadline date... Now on the whole that's a pretty good deal, but the devil is in the detail and you need to consider price and range of records on offer. The current member's magazine (Issue 13A, March 2001) includes CD's generally priced from £12.99 to £14.99. The bonus price varies from £7.99 to £9.99. In addition, you'll need to pay postage and packing of £1.26 for one CD, £2.10 for two CD's, £2.82 for three, £3.32 for four or more. Therefore, three CD's would cost you £37.99 (£14.99 + 2 * £9.99 + £2.82), or £12.66 per CD. Now, in most towns you're normally able to buy CD's at around thirteen quid, less if there's an offer on, so Britannia has little price advantage. If you're regularly buying a lot of CD's then it's probably worth your while working with Britannia. In terms of choice... Read review
