Can learn from the Americans
Review of British Airways - BAW by markos3

Advantages: British company
Disadvantages: British company

...British Airways spends a significant amount of money promoting itself as the worlds favourite airline: Favourite for what I wonder. My experience (and others) of British Airways is that it is expensive and that its service is poor. Like so many British industries, it seems not to value its customers. The customers make the airline profitable, and so to not take their wishes into consideration is folly. I think that British Airways could learn a lot from American companies about customer service. They may then find that customers give them some loyalty. I have heard many people say that they would rather fly to/from the states using American Airlines than British Airways: This says something for a company based in this country.... Read review

Quite a good airline...
Review of British Airways - BAW by shezaada

Advantages:
Disadvantages:

...Ive flown on 3 diffrent airlines so far, and I can say without hesitation that I have found British Airways Cabin Crew to be the most helpful and kind. Being disabled it is a bit difficult, and sitting sown for a good few hours can take its toll, so if I want to go to the toliet, a bit of assistance would not go astray. On all the airlines I went on I found British Airways Cabin crew to be the most helpful; in that they would help me out of the chair, put me onto an aisle chair and take me to the toliet. They were also the kindest, and the Cabin crew would make sure time after time that you were ok, which I supose should be part of the service, but Broiush Airways cabin crew win my vote and I will be flying with them again... Sky High with a Bag of Crisps
Review of British Airways - BAW by PatricHelbig

Advantages: Safe, extensive routes, nice staff, good aeroplanes, moderate service
Disadvantages: Higher prices, constantly decreasing value by new money saving measures

...British Airways has been created from BOAC in the 1960s and originates from a state owned company in Great Britain. Aeroplanes of the airline used to be remarked by the BA symbol on the backwing that included a crown. This feature has been changed in favour of some modern art paintwork in the 1990s. The airline is one of the biggest world wide carriers, especially in English speaking countries, and a member of the One-World Alliance of airlines. British Airways owns a wide range of aeroplanes from different makers, from very old and small to new and modern planes. After a tragic accident in Paris and increased environmental concerns British Airways decided to take the Concorde out of service this year. British Airways together with Air France were involved in creating this plane that was capable for flying at more than twice... Read review

British Airways : Big and Strong ?
Review of British Airways - BAW by ashford

Advantages: Big airline. Strong reputation. Huge network
Disadvantages: Can be impersonal at times. Pricey

...I have flown on British Airways around ten times mainly on long haul flights on the London-Singapore,london-Kuala Lumpur sectors. This airline one of the largest in the world has a modern, well maintained fleet, and an extensive route network. Price wise it is by no means the cheapest around. The in flight service is competent but not outstanding-most of the asian airlines have better in flight service. The in flight entertainment system is satisfactory but SIA's is superior. As regards the food I have always found the airline to be good. On my last flight ,the dinner meal consisted of pasta salad with basil dressing, cod fillet with spiced kleeks, lemon and vanilla sabayon and cheddar cheese. For breakfast I chose corn flakes, creamed mushroom omelette with hash brown potatoes and apple danish. The in flight magazine of BA is a good read... Read review

A friendly service with hints of British Airways!.
Review of GB Airways by Martin_Lee20

Advantages: Quality of British Airways!, Great on-board service!.
Disadvantages: Pretty expensive as only recognised airline company which flies to Gibraltar!

...GB Airways is a company set up in Gibraltar which controls most flights between England to South Spain and North Africa. GB Airways is a franchise from British Airways so everything is of their standards. The meals where slightly poor on the morning flights but the return meals in the afternoons where a lot better than expected!. I take regualr flights between Gatwick and Gibraltar. I have never ever been late on arrival, only slight delays on take-off. The on-board entertainment was poor as there was no radio or anything to listen too. The on-flight magazine was poor too as it was one magazine for all destinations so languages where split into many regardless of space!. However, GB Airways is the only company with high reputation that flies to Gibraltar but so if it's quality you're looking for, GB Airlines is the one to choose... Read review

All airlines are not created the same
Review of British Airways - BAW by bigdoug

Advantages: Good quality and safety records
Disadvantages: none

...British Airways has always strived for unparalleled service and safety. And, as far as Concorde is concerned, acheive this. Air France is the only other airline with Concorde but so it may seem a little unfair to say that Air France don't live up to the standard exacted by British Airways but to re-iterated the title to my opinion not all airlines are created the same and though they may all strive to attain the best of service and passenger safety not all airlines have the same success. I believe that British Airways ARE more responsible as they have as many reported incidents of malfunction and reported problems but where necessary they have cancelled flights, grounded and even retired a Concorde from completely from service almost a week before the Air France disaster. The British Airways safety record with Concorde is earned... Read review

Best of British
Review of British Airways - BAW by Disillusioned

Advantages: Good value, they fly everywhere, friendly
Disadvantages: None

...British Airways don’t seem to be the most popular of airlines on Ciao and to be truthful I don’t know why. BA provide high quality service, comfort and value for money. Okay that last point will ignite some debate but I have found in general British Airways to be good value for money. When we flew to Geneva we looked at all the airlines at British Airways turned out the cheapest. Swissair the second cheapest. And the supposed budget airline EasyJet the most expensive. This wasn’t just a “one-off” we have flew several times and when we have compared British Airways to the other competition they have always came out the cheapest. British Airways service has always been excellent when I have used them, their staff are always very helpful – in the check-in desk and in the air. Though a very small minority... Read review

Money for Nothing
Review of United Airlines Mileage Plus by mjg3579

Advantages: Free Scheme
Disadvantages: Its Free - what more do you want!!!

...Let me start by saying that I am not a particularly frequent flyer. I don't do many business miles, and have a couple of holidays a year. However, I booked a holiday a couple of years ago with United Vacations. The reservations agent advised that I should join Mileage Plus. Yeah whatever, but did it anyway. Went to the United Airlines website and had a better look at it. United Airlines is part of the Star Alliance, the worlds leading airline alliance. The Mileage Plus scheme is obviously centred around United Airlines, but you can "earn and burn" your miles on any of the Star Alliance carriers: bmi british midland, SAS, Lufthansa, VARIG, Air Canada, Austrian Airlines, Mexicana, ANA All Nippon, Singapore Airlines, Thai Airways, Asiana, and from this year, Spanair, LOT Polish Airlines and US Airways. (phew!). Also, all of the airlines... Read review

FLYING HIGH
Review of British Airways - BAW by willsmj

Advantages: looked after
Disadvantages: cost

...I have been fortunate enough to win many competitions and because of this I have been on many flights. Different airlines treat people in many different ways. The best so far is British Airways. I have flown both long haul and short distances with them and I have always flown with my wife and many times with my children.British Airways have always treated us all with respect and courteously. Nothing is too much trouble. Although aeroplane food is not the best way to eat, I have found that the food with B.A is quite reasonable, and, if you require more on a scheduled flight you get more. B.A is flying high, well done.... Read review

Is this the same???
Review of British World Airways - BWL by andycharger

Advantages:
Disadvantages:

...I travelled with British World Airlines to Ibiza about 6 years ago. If this is the same airline they were superb. They were based at Southend before they did away with the terminal. I think they are based in Stansted now. Short haul trips to europe. I remember a bunch of lads from Chelmsford being on the plane and causing a bit of trouble during the flight. The were very drunk and for some reason, spotted me and were trying to get me to join in. I hid behind my seat and pretended not to see them before they came to the back of the plane and proceeded to chat!!! Go away, I thought. I think they were just oggling my girlfriend at the time. Although, many people must do that now as she is an air stewardess for British Airways!!!!... Read review
