...A career in the British Army ?, One has to think what do you want out of life if you happy with a 9 - 5 job with the family and friends that you have grown up with, then I would not recommend it for you, If you are looking for that something else, that bit of adventure, the advantage of trying out new things in new countrys, top notch, adventure training in the kind of places that you have not ever dreamed of, then I would highly recommend it to you, but it do's not suit everybody people tend to know themselves if they have got it in them. As in life you have to take the rough with the smooth, you can end up in some very nasty places and situations, you can also end up in some fantastic places very rarely seen by other people. Advantages: An amazing opportunity to view artefacts from the tomb of China's First Emperor.
Disadvantages: Limited amount of artefacts. The crowds!!!!

...The arrival of a small delegetion from the First Chinese Emperor's terracotta army to the British Museum in London generated great interest. Over the past six months, thousands of tourists have invaded the samll space of the museum's reading room to get a glimpse of elaborate warriors standing on guard. ...My beef with the British Army! No, and I’m not talking Meat Beef either! As you all know, my son is in the Army and has been deployed to the Middle East, along with many others, and really I just need to get this off my chest…….. He was told in January that he was going, and they started to sort out kit for them. Well to cut a long story short, 3 days before he was due to go, he had no boots, and was lacking some major pieces of needed kit. We had a mad dash around, and luckily managed to find him some boots, and a few other bits and pieces that he would need (of course funded by ourselves!) and off he went. There was at this time quite a bit on the news channels about the troops going, and one guy from the regiment came on the TV and told the viewer how the families would be kept in-touch with what... ...All that glitters is not gold! One has to admit that the recruiting publicity for the British Army are some of the best adverts on the telly; they should be the bill for them runs in to the millions. My opinion of the British Army is based on 21 years service and still serving. Anyone contemplating a career would be best suited to finding out more about the job and what it offers you and more importantly expects of you from people who have experienced it rather than rely on the glitz of the TV ads and posters. First of all the good stuff: Skills: The Army can provide you with opportunities, the likes never heard of in any other job. Want to be a train driver, police constable, chef? The list of trades in the Army currently stands at about 160; from the ridiculous to the sublime and they are there for the taking almost... Read review
