BT Voyager 100 USB Modem
Review of BT Voyager 100 USB by
Martinscholes
Advantages: Good, hard-working USB modem
Disadvantages: None
...When we signed up for AOL Broadband we were told that a modem would, naturally, be included as part of the package.
The modem that we received was a BT Voyager 100. The BT Voyager 100 is small and compact and -touch wood!- has never given us any cause for concern.
Hooking it up is very easy. Hey. If I can do it, so can almost anyone else! You plug a blue cable into the USB port on the modem. The yellow cable is then plugged into the BT ADSL MF50 line box which is plugged into the phone point. You load the software into the computer, and you are well away, as the saying goes.
With AOL the setting up process regarding the modem is virtually automatic so should not present you with any problems whatsoever.
The BT Voyager 100 is light in weight and, as I said before, compact in size and dimensions. It is just under 4.5 inches...

BT voyager 210 broadband modem
Review of BT Voyager 210 Router by
volcano
Advantages: Easy to install
Disadvantages: Beware: Won't last much longer than 12 months
...I got this BT voyager 210 router from MADASAFISH when I subscribed to their broadband service back in 2006 as a 'free' router (you have paid them back + admin charges if you switch or unsubscribe before the 12 months contract is due).
It comes as shown in the picture in the box, quite generours: one wired router, TWO ADSL microfilters, one AC adaptor, one ADSL telco cable, 1 USB cable, 1 Ethernet cable, one CD-ROM (with installation guide, user manual, driver and utilties), one small piece of quick installation guide. This modem supports ADSL2 as well however I haven't got ADSL2 i.e. not tested.
The basic installation is quite easy: connection the modem to the phone socket according to instructions. Put the CD-ROM in and launch setup and then follow the instructions. For Ethernet connections, no driver installation...

A Voyage into the Unknown
Review of BT Voyager 1020 by
mornev
Advantages: Forever on
Disadvantages: Installing is like a bad dream
...If you want to read an expert critique and very technical description of the BT Voyager 2000, complete with images and diagrams, then I suggest you visit http://www.adslguide.org.uk/hardware/reviews/2003/q3/bt-2000.asp first and then return here to read a complete layperson's experience of installing, configuring and running this wireless ADSL modem, the aim being to home network two computers in order to share broadband access, printers, files and folders. Considering the problems I encountered installing and setting up BT Broadband on my new computer using Windows XP I should in hindsight have left well alone, but my partner was so impressed with the speedy broadband connection and my new computer that he immediately bought himself a new computer as he wanted to join in the fun. We balanced the cost of a second phone line...

BT Voyager experiances
Review of BT Voyager 2100 Wireless - wireless router by
Catmaster
Advantages: Easy to setup, Good amount of features, Looks acceptable
Disadvantages: Unreliable, Low signal range
...I have had this router for almost 2 years now, so I decided I'd write my own review about it.
---Easiness to use-
The router is quite easy to use: When you first get it, the instructions show you how to get it running, all you then have to do really is turn it on and connect your Wireless Adapter to it, then you just type in "voyager.home" into internet explorer and your taken to its settings page, from there your able to set it up and get it connecting. It works with most D.S.L connections, such as BT, AOL, etc... Though my friend uses it with AOL, he said that AOL said they had no help on it and that it appeared to have "disconnecting" problems, where it keeps disconnecting by itself, which he hasn't experienced like they explained and its worked fine.
---Reliability & Wireless Range---
The router itself is not too...

BT Voyager 2000 - Irritating
Review of BT Voyager 2000 Wireless - wireless router by
mgsmatt
Advantages: It sometimes works quite well
Disadvantages: It often doesn't
...The problems with this router are that it isn't easy to set up and it sometimes stops working, requiring you to unplug the power and plug it back in again.
I am particularly annoyed with it because I have a Belkin wireless adaptor for another computer that should, in theory, allow that computer to connect to the router and hence to the internet. Unfortunately this does not happen. I do not know whether this is due to BT and Belkin hardware/software not working with each other or some configuration error on the computer's Windows system so it may not be the router's fault. It must be said that it was possible to connect my PSP and my Dad's laptop to the router as well as the main computer it was intended for.
Regarding the way it sometimes stops working, I am very irritated. It isn't that old a piece of hardware to be temporarily...

Free from BT but not a bad buy for right price
Review of BT Voyager 205 Router - router by
codiak
Advantages: Easy to setup and use
Disadvantages: none i found
...The BT Voyager 205 Router is a good for what most users of any ADSL product would need, configuration is a snap with the enclosed driver and setup cd-rom only be sure to change the admin password as information like that is public knowledge on the likes of www.portforward.com should anyone manage to connect to it from both inside or outside your home network they will no doubt mess around.
you can link it to your PC by either USB or Ethernet Cable allowing the potential to have 2 devices directly attached to the voyager.
So what benefit will that give you? well for a start lets say you have a PC and a console you would like to use both online, you connect your PC to the USB port and your console to the ethernet port right away you have both online.
This router is shipped to most BT customers for free, the reason BT trust...

BT Total Broadband
Review of BT OpenWorld by
steven3001
Advantages: Excellent Service
Disadvantages: Price
...As you may be or may not be aware as recently featured on watchdog BT was voted the best broadband provider. Not only that but has been voted the best provider for 3 years running. It has also been voted the best on reliability, so you know for sure you are going to get a guaranteed excellent service.
Though BT has a higher price compared to most other suppliers, I went for BT based on the service been reliable and was more than happy to pay extra for that security.
Going onto price first of all
Option 1 and 5GB of Usage per month
£8.95 per month for the first 6 months then £17.99 thereafter, with an 18 month term or £12.99 per month for the first 3 months and then £17.99
This option gives you a state of the art wireless hub for £50 or a voyager modem for £25, inclusive UK calls on an evening and weekend via the broadband...

BT Broadband (a laugh a minute)
Review of BT Broadband by
johnkesterton
Advantages: Trying to think of one
Disadvantages: to many to mention
...waited for the equipment which arrived two days later. After installing the software and the hardware I tried in vain to connect to the internet. called BT for help they couldn't help and gave me a premium rate number @ 50p a minute after waiting on hold for 20 minutes at the cost of £10.00 I gave up and fixed the problem myself by getting rid of the USB connector and connecting useing an ethernet card (More Expense).
Unfortunutly this is were the fun starts there are many problems with BT Broadband and the most serious is the BT voyager 205 modem which is a plug and play device BRILLANT I hear you say I don't have to do anything!!
The problem isn't the fact thats its plug and play the problem is one of security because the password to change the setting on the router also allows people (if you can call them that) to hack into you...

BT Broadband is Good...
Review of BT Broadband by
AndyGray2k7
Advantages: Always on connection (no downtimes etc) and reliable speed
Disadvantages: Price and Usage
...INTRODUCTION
A year ago i decided to sign up to BT Broadband, as my wanadoo contract had finished and they weren't so good... So i got a MAC code from Wanadoo and migrated to BT Broadband Option 1, Which has a 5GB Download usuage and a BT Voyager 210 ADSL Router.
MY EXPERIANCE
Migration from Wanadoo to BT went smoothly. Just told wanadoo (now Orange) that i wanted a MAC code to move, gave it to BT via there website and my wanadoo broadband was cancelled and i was moved to BT straight away when i got my free BT Voyager 210 ADSL Router from them.
There was only about a one or two day offline period, as BT were fast at activating my broadband from them.
I'm on option 1, which includes a 5GB Download limit, 2mb speed and is £17,99 a month. Now i want to complain about the 5GB download limit as most other broadband providers (like...

BT : 'Now that's what I call Broadband'
Review of BT Broadband by
f1insidetrack
Advantages: Free wireless router for £14.99 first 3 months, fast and reliable, excellent technical support
Disadvantages: Takes a while if you need to speak to someone from BT
...wireless hub worth over £50!
* What you get *
- 1 BT Home Hub (Wireless router)
- 1 Broadband Cable
- 1 Converter
- 1 Power Cable
- 1 Ethernet Cable
- 1 USB Cable
- 2 Micro Filters
Please note that if you want to connect your BT home hub wireless you will need to purchase a BT Voyager 1055 adaptor. This will cost you £25 or anything between £10-£20 on Ebay. The wireless adaptor basically fits into a usb port on your computer or laptop. However if your computer or laptop has a wireless adaptor installed on it you will not need to purchase one of these adaptors.
Basically if you have a good read of the instruction manual that came with your computer or laptop this should tell you whether you have a wireless adaptor installed already or not. They are usually found on computers that have been puchased within...
