Cabin Betrayal
Review of Cabin Fever DVD by
streetvibes87
Advantages: The mass hysteria is conveyed through brilliant acting
Disadvantages: Parts of it are surreal yet we are giving no answers. Why did that kid bite him?:s
...Right and wrong, trust and betrayal. How far would you go to look after number 1 when the killer doesn't care who you are? Cabin Fever shows human nature in a brilliantly constructed, fast paced and delightfully gory couple of hours.
Group hysteria has always been the horror writer's most treasured plot device and Cabin Fever takes it to another level. When a group of students head out into the woods in pursuit of a little fun no one blinks an eye, but as the audience would expect from a traditional horror film it all ends in the inevitable. Gore and death. As normal the characters have more money than sense and are demonstrably attractive but when all their fun and fornication comes to an end they all show what’s behind their pretty faces…perhaps because they are falling off.
Enter the deliverer of death. Late one night...

Cabin Feverish
Review of Cabin Fever DVD by
Galien
Advantages: You could be eating nails.
Disadvantages: It starts...
...Do you like scary movies?
Personally I’m a fan of horror films, the best of them are very clever and intriguing, the worst of them extremely bad but as long as one gets a good fright then it all seems worthwhile.
Its fear but knowing that your never really in any danger, that adrenaline rush, the skin crawling or (in the very best examples) the ones that get in under your skin, films like the Exorcist, The Others or The Ring (Japanese version) to name a few.
In this genre Cabin Fever doesn’t really deserve a place. It’s a shocker, it gory and its sickening. The scares are few and far between and all the characters are unlovable, vain, arrogant and selfish. Not one of them endeared themselves to me and so it happens that I didn’t really care whether they caught the disease or not.
The premise is this. A group of horny...

More like... 'Cabin Mild Temperature!'
Review of Cabin Fever DVD by
denzil82
Advantages: Gory effects (if u like that kind of thing)
Disadvantages: Annoying characters, pointless, unoriginal
...I had been told by a friend of mine to avoid this movie as it wasn't very good! But I joined an online rental place (screenselect.co.uk - review to follow!) and I had to pick around 20 movies that I was intersted in so I just put this one on my list. Surely enough, it was in the first batch of movies that fell on my door mat!
The movie follows a group of 5 college graduates who have rented a cabin for a week. Surprisingly the cabin is out in the middle of nowhere, and the nearest town is full of strange local types who don't take well to strangers.
On the first day at the cabin, 3 of the twenty-somethings go on a wonder and explore the surrounding woods. Cleverly, one of them decides to wonder off alone and shoot things!
On his travels he accidentally shoots an injured man, believing him to be some sort of woodland creature...

Why couldn't the plane crash into the cabin?
Review of Cabin Fever DVD by
nathaninnit
Advantages: There is none, and a lot of characters that have no purpose
Disadvantages: Badly developed, badly acted, just plain bad
...A horror film titled Cabin Fever, it actually sounds quite promising, perhaps a group of American teens forced to lock themselves up in a wooden shack to get away from the crazy killer that awaits them in the woods? Well, that would have been a lovely way for the film to go (in a purely horror genre sense) but instead I wish I hadn't sat down to watch Cabin Fever, because had I known there was no physical killer it probably would have put me off instantly. Cabin Fever premiered on Channel 4 last night and I feel sorry for anyone else, that like me, actually sat through the thing.
2002's Cabin Fever opening credits are very plain, and the music only slowly creeps in. I have to say in a way this was quite good at setting a frightening mood, the no sound factor was quite eerie but I guess for many people that could just get mistaken...

Brilliant Garden Cabin
Review of Lugarde Cabins Garden Centre by
shricthism
Advantages: Superb quality, dry, strong and durable
Disadvantages: None I can see
...I bought one of these from www.taylorsgardenbuildings.co.uk . If you look at their web site you will see there are several ranges of cabins within the Lugarde Brand. I chose one from the Arizona range. There are a number of standard sizes and specifications but you can also have what they call a "Matrix" design, which essentially allow you to design your own building, selecting from a wide range of Window and Doors types and position them as suits yourself.
Price varies according to your spec, but a standard 3M square in 44mm timber is £2K.
Apart from Taylor's web site it is also worth looking at Lugarde's own web site at http://www.lugarde.nl/english/index.html
You need to be careful to check your local planning rules, but in my case everything was OK as long as I made sure it was more than a certain distance from the house...

pi-tag.com - Secure luggage, keys, mobile tagging.
Review of Travel - luggage by
Gichin
Advantages: Secure luggage tracking. Automated Service. Get messages worldwide.
Disadvantages: Must subscribe for 1 year at a time.
...Having decided to take a well earned break from the UK, I went looking for some new luggage tags. I found a number of sites on the internet but the best I found was a site called pi-tag.com. pi-tag.com was on BBC Radio 2's website of the day in March 2005 and it was through the Radio 2 website that I found it.
It costs just £9.99 to register for one year - and for that you get your choice of 2 tags. You can purchase additional tags online if you wish.
Once registered, an activation code is sent to your registered address to verify your contact details and a unique pi-tag number is assigned to you.
If someone finds your bag, they don't know your home address or telephone number but that are told on the tag to contact you at pi-tag.com - or by calling the international 0870 number. If you ring the telephone number...

Uncle Tom's Cabin - a cry for equality
Review of Uncle Tom's Cabin: Or, Life Among the Lowly - Harriet Stowe by
Zoe.e
Advantages: Interesting characters
Disadvantages: Too sentimental
...Uncle Tom's Cabin was written specifically by Harriet Beecher Stowe inorder to appeal to white middle class American women at the time and to inform them of the issues that were surrounding the treatment of different races within American society. This book was written when slavery was still seen by the majority as acceptable and the way things were supposed to be, which was obviously a good incentive for the more perceptive to point out the huge problems within the unfair and exploitive system. Stowe showed her black characters as real people with real emotions unlike some previous authors who had just seen them as inferior. she wanted to get the point across that there was actual suffering and cruelty and that all people should be treated with equality.
I found that this book had a fantastic principle, but a lot of the characeters...

Thomas Cook Premium Cabin
Review of Thomas Cook Airlines (powered by Condor) by
dance7
Advantages: Speedy check in and luggage collection, comfort
Disadvantages: certain things 'included' we did not receive
...As newlyweds jetting off on honeymoon we flew in thomas cook airlines premium cabin to Cuba from manchester. Premium check in meant a designated desk and saved us a lot of time both on our outbound and inward journey. we also received our luggage swiftly at both ends as it is kept separate from economy luggage. the seats were wider and much more comfortable with sufficient leg room. the staff were helpful and the food was quite good, getting a full meal and a snack whilst on the flight. A premium cabin benefit was free drinks including alcoholic ones for the duration of the flight. We received free headphones and a blanket and pillow but other items which were advertised as included in the price of premium we did not receive such as sparkling wine on arrival and personal care kit. the overall experience with Thomas Cook airlines...

Switchback plus Brilliant luggage
Review of Eagle Creek Switchback-Plus L by
denise.parry
Advantages: Versatile, Very accurate marketing by company,
Disadvantages: Have to search the Uk to find stackists. Can buy online but I have not tried this yet.
...away when not in use,There is a grey button on the back for this purpose, handy for stopping broken handles by airport baggage handlers. When in use it locks into the upright position. The extended handle height is about 90cm.
There are toiletries bags in various sizes (I used the largest one and just took off the toiletries bag as cabin luggage at check in.)
and a whole range of items designed to fit over the handle available including a nifty sunglasses case that will clip onto the item.
Main advantages are a rucksack and trolley in 1 with easy switching between the 2 dependant upon the terrain and with a detachable daypack with 2 main compartments, front one is an organiser and even has an attached keyring..
The product stood up to all sorts of conditions including torrential rain for 6 hours and didnt leak. It was the envy...
